Raspar waits, shield raised, and his eyes furrowed as he looks at the Hound. He does not say anything, lest he ruin everything by complimenting the Hound on its lustrous coat or nicely pointy teeth.
Cabaguil Hobnil |
Cabaguil shares what he knows of the hound, but expresses unease with simply letting it free, "It's a dangerous creature and, I imagine, likely to cause much trouble to the locals if we just let it roam, hunting on its own."
"Still..."
He hesitates, not wanting to fight it and kill it either unless they have to. For now, he gets out of the way and lets it go if that's what it seems to want to do. The enemy of my enemy? he wonders idly.
Dori Markhaldow |
DOri moves to join Raspar in the front of the group and raises his shield.

Dori shields himself as the flaming dog slowly inches towards the door. As it comes near you it notices you do not strike out at it and seems relieved. It looks up at your group and seems to give a small nod to the wall to the west before leaving quickly for its freedom.
Dakapos' intimidation was enough to get it to pause and not attack immediately. The Hellhound simply wanted to be freed of the cultists control.
Raspar Soulsage |
Raspar waves goodbye to the nice dog with his starknife, moving into the larder to search for things of interest...or ripe fruit to eat.
"That was good work, Dak. Maybe that doggie would like to visit us at the Rainbow DreamCastle Citadel," he offers hopefully.
He moves deeper into the room.
Kelvin Craghorn |
"Well... That wasn't so bad."
Kelvin moves forward and past Raspar to check out the next door. He gives it a listen, intent on knowing if there's anything on the other side.
Note that Kelvin has Trap Spotter and is +17 vs traps
Ðakaþos |
"Make no mistake. I'd have killed it in a heartbeat were it not for expected dangers within." He then moves up to join Kelvin.
Dori Markhaldow |
Dori nods"We have bigger priorities here. I cannot let a lesser evil drain our strength."
He moves behind Kelvin, ready to defend him from evil.
GM Tyranius |
This back room serves as the Cinderclaws’ kitchen, and contains a smaller molten furnace. Little else remains in this room as it seems the hellhound was simply shut in and unable to escape.
Kelvin opens the door to the forge itself. Chunks of iron are scattered around this room, while a trench filled with molten rock bubbles along the base of the western wall. Anvils and forging equipment lie here and there near the trench. A pair of draconic charau-kas—spawn of Dahak- like Racharak drench a set of warhammers into the molten liquid before turning their attention to the door. Their warhammer's glowing red hot.

The ally can attempt to break free of effects grabbing, restraining, immobilizing, or paralyzing them. They either attempt a new save against one such effect that allows a save, or attempt to Escape from one effect as a free action. If they can move, the ally can Step as a free action, even if they didn’t need to escape.[/ spoiler]

Cabaguil quickly collapses as the flames overwhelm him. Cuthberwyn dives beside him and begins to administer first aid to keep him alive.
Kelvin thrusts Ogogoro's Pride into the dragon monkey's chest and again through it's chin, dealing the killing blow. Raspar tosses his starknife into the remaining Spawn's side. It looks about one good hit from falling over itself.

Cabaguil nods with Kelvin, though he’s not sure. He worries about the depth of their injuries as he picks up his staff. ”A lot of fort to go yet, and we’re all pretty hurt. Watch the doors, and I’ll do what I can to heal. Cuthberwyn, can you help Dori and yourself?”
In the first ten minutes, he works on himself and Raspar.

Not quite satisfied, he’ll also cast Heal (2) to help everyone a little further.

You're getting good at healing, Caba!
Raspar will be ready to move on when others are.

Tyranius, I no longer have resist fire 5.
Cabaguil, feeling much better after the short break, joins the others back at the front of the fort. ”I wonder how many rings this tree has?” he jokes nervously. ”So, right… or left?” He gestures to the two remaining doors, happy to go either way.
Raspar Soulsage |
Raspar smiles at Cabaguil, understanding that the helpful man is ready to move on.
"C'mon Kelvin, but stay behind me. I don't want you to get hurt," Raspar moves to the bottom door and opens it when others are ready.
Kelvin Craghorn |
Moved all the tokens aside from Raspar. Feel free to correct if placement is not to your liking.
"Aye, I'm with you Raspar. Just as quiet as can be. But I think by now it should be obvious that this is bloody business, with a little bit of 'hurt' being part of the mix."

A pair of immense, fossilized vertebrae run along the central ceiling of this room. The walls are carved with images of huge, spiny dragons ravaging jungle landscapes and burning entire cities to the ground. Sleeping mats have been placed along the walls to the south.
