Cuthberwyn can't bear to watch as Kelvin is pummeled some more.

He continues the story to encourage his companions (Inspire courage, +1 status bonus to attack/damage rolls and saves vs. fear effects), then tries the same gambit he used previously, relying on a flash of future insight ([t]true strike[/i]) to try and make the statue prone again.

Kelvin coughs up more blood, his struggle to survive real as the statue continues to unerringly strike him. He lets out a groan, that turns into a chuckle, that becomes a gurgling laugh. "Hah.. Hahaha... HAHAHA!"

That doesn't stop his continued attempts to break the statue. He thrusts with his spear and follows up with the gauntlet.

Cuthberwyn gets enough leverage again and brings the statue back down to the ground where Kelvin thrusts his spear down into it's face. Cabaguil heals the maddened dwarf's injury as he rebounds back once more. Raspar is even able to get in a few nicks while the statue is down.

Kelvin slumps to the ground, groaning and still in very obvious pain. Sitting beside the broken remains of the statue, he picks through the rubble until he finds a suitable piece of clay. It has a jagged edge but fits easily in the palm of his hand. "The easier I'll remember the pain you caused, you stony bastard."

To the group he says, "Well now, that was fun. Let's maybe not do that again so soon, right? And... thanks." With a grin on his face he looks at Raspar specifically and adds, "Though there's no way you're tougher than I am. Truly, you are a Desnan Dreamer."

Raspar smiles wide that his friend is still alive and his face is only mostly mashed and broken.

”That wound still looks a little nasty, let me touch it up a bit.” Assuming Raspar’s healing worked, and only a little injury remains, Cabaguil will use his wand of heal on Kelvin.

Raspar's deliberations fall on deaf ears as these cultists seem far more devout than the sickened ones working the gold mines. Ðakaþos and Dori work a few negotiations of their own. The poor boggard doesn't stand much of a chance as an axe cleaves into it's back followed by a bastard sword across it's neck.

Seeing one of their own fall the Charau-ka Butcher's screama nd beat their chests as they fly into a frenzy. Leaping through the air they surround Dori as a pair of tridents, stab at him from two different angles.

One of the tridents catches Dori as the prong stabs through his bicep. Yanking the weapon free he begins to bleed quite profusely. The boggards all leap into positions to try and split your group into two teams and cut you off to quickly finish the dwarf off.

Kelvin stabs into the Charau-ka as Cuthberwyn's missiles smash through several ribs. Cabaguil's flames putter out in his hand. Raspar slits it's tendons as the butcher falls to its knees. Ðakaþos finishes off the monkey before moving into the boggards threatened zone. His blade finds a safe space into its chest as well.

Dori quickly kills the final boggard leaving the room silent once more.

Hoping they have the time, Cabaguil goes to work on Ðakaþos and Dori, breaking out his healing tools and taking 10 minutes if he can.

I really should pick up prayer beads on my cleric. Just grabbed Healer's gloves though and realized the bonus doesn't affect Assurance.

A little healed and ready Raspar opens the eastern door. Smoked meat and roasted fish hang on hooks embedded in the walls, while clay jars on the floor are packed full of yams in various stages of fermentation. A heavy metal cooking grate covers a glowing pit in the floor.

A nearly skeletal frame of a dog paces the length of the room irritably. Flesh the color of burning pitch, teeth as sharp as any fiend's pitchfork, and a shroud of ever-burning hell re are all trademark features. Upon seeing you it let's out a low growl but doesn't immediately attack.

Cabaguil quickly recognizes this large beast as a Nessian Warhound. Believed to be bred by the Prince of Darkness himself within vast kennels in the infernal realm of Nessus, Nessian warhounds are the favored guards and hunting hounds of powerful fiends and, rarely, those mortals who worship them and have earned their favor. Understanding only infernal the dog cocks it's head in a confused manner at Ðakaþos. Cabaguil knows these hounds can breath flames all around them.

As Ðakaþos portrays himself with a fair bit of authority, the Nessian warhound ceases its pacing and seems to stand down momentarily. Flames flicker across it's skin as the warhound sits down, looking towards the open door.

Cuth appears uncertain, but asks, Should we let it? I don't have a desire to kill anything that only wants to escape.
