Slipping one of her magically enhanced pebbles into her sling, Faerin whips it around, building speed and momentum before letting it fly at Dimwit as well while the others swarm the armored trolls.

They needed to find out what happened here, and that was contingent on Bartholomew surviving.

Dimwit continues to attack Bartholomew, ignoring everything else. The mage loks a bit battered, but his defenses seem to be holding.

The Troll 1 continues attacking Anton, but Troll 2 turns his attention to Ekun who is weilding the acid infused greatAxe.

Fearin lets fly with another enhanced stone from her sling, pelting Dimwit as he attacks Bartholomew.

Moving more carefully, and ready to jump out of the way at a moment's notice, Octavia distances herself from the armored troll's reach as she casts another spell, imbuing her arrows with fire.

Once again, Ekundayo mumbles "Thanks Harrim. You keep us up, we'll put them down" as the warmth of the energy closes almost all of his wounds.

He and Dog continue to team up on the Troll in front of them (Troll2)

I'll consider Octavia moving after Ekun drops Troll 2

Ekun and Dog combine to drop Troll 2 (not dead yet though). Octavia and Faerin both hit Dimwit again.

Anton steps back and attacks the remaining armored troll.

Ekundayo and Dog step up to the nearest troll (Troll1) and swing. "Lets bring it down Anton and move on to the other one."

Seeing Bartholomew go flying to lay in a crumpled heap, Faerin uses her final stone, deperately seeking to bring the troll down in time to save the researcher.

Octavia drills one of her flaming arrows into Dimwit's back, hoping to bring the former captive down.

Unfortunately for Reg, all hios attacks did was attract Dimwit's attention. With a roar, the scarred troll turns to attack him.

Harrim, seeing the massive damage done to Reg, casts a spell then steps up to touch Reg.

Both Faerin and Octavia notice that Dimwit's wounds are still regenarating, despite being hit with both acid and fire (and he did take damage from those sources). Octavia is pretty sure they are regenarating a little slower than normal though.

OK, everyone is up again! And you can move freely through the squares occupied by unconscious trolls.

I learned about a bunch of cool monster feats in this fight!

Anton will move up to attack Dimwit, he won't try to avoid the Attack of Opp. so that the others can close as well.

Dog takes a 5 foot step and attacks Dimwit, while Ekun moves up (opening himself up to an Attack of Opportunity) and also attacks Dimwit.

Taking a step, Octavia fires another shot into Dimwit's back.

Determined to put an end to this, Faerin begins a powerful summoning chant, reaching out to call upon a being of primal fire to answer her call.

Both Ekun and Dog hit the troll, but Dog fails to trip him. Octavia also adds to the damage. With Octavia's arrow, Dimwit falls unconscious.

Faerin you can choose to not summon if you want and change your action. Be aware that the two armored trolls took no acid damage this round and will be regenerating.

If we are out of round mode.....

Seeing that all the trolls are down and some are beginning to heal, Ekundayo takes a round to coup-de-grace each troll, doing maximum damage including acid damage.

Yeah, one of the trolls, Troll 1, is getting up this round unless Faerin does acid damage to it, but you will probably just knock him down again. The two armored trolls you can kill with no pro
blem, but Dimwit seems unkillable for about a minute and a half before his regeneration finally stops working.

Bartholomew is alive, but battered.

Okay, in that case, I'll save the spell and...

Faerin's keen eyes notice one of the downed trolls beginning to stir. Racing forward, her hand and forearm becoming encased in tough bark and wicked thorns even as she runs across the distance, she brutally hammers the fallen trolls body, hoping to do enough harm to counter it's healing, until one of her companions can attack it with acid again.

Octavia continues to fire flaming arrow after arrow into Dimwit's fallen body until he stops moving, finally succumbing to the accumulated damage.

Once the trolls have been dispatched, Faerin directs Harrim to revive Bartholomew while Ekun decapitates the trolls, crouching beside him as he awakens.

"Glad we were able to get here in time." she says after giving him a moment to realize where he is. "What happened?"

Bartholmew is bruised, but otherwise OK. He looks about and gives Faerin a bow.
"Thank you, Your Grace! I thought I was through for sure until your timely arrival. You have my gratitude. This troll problem is far more than I originally believed. It is obvious that there is a higher order of power behind this most unusual organization among them. I will redouble my efforts to find more information!"

"Is seemed as though Dimwit was healing despite taking damage from both fire and acid. How was that?" she asks as she helps the researcher up.

Ekundayo looks over Dimwit and the other trolls for anything obvious that would account for them regenerating after fire and acid damage. He listens in on Faerin conversation with Bartholomew.

"Yes, it is something rather unique toi him. As long as he is in one of his frenzies, nothing seems to stop his rgenerative ability, just slow it slightly. It's a good thing that those frenzies eventually tire him out, or I would have no idea how to stop him short of certain death magics." Bartholomew responds.

"So he basically had the ability to rage like a barbarian; thank goodness he's dead now ...
"... and not a lab rat."

"Agreed. We're all better off with him dead." Faerin relies looking over at the beheaded corpse. "Do you have any idea what might have drawn the trolls here? They seem to be amassing in this area, most concentrated nearest to your home."

"I'm not sure why they have congregated here. Perhaps it had something to do with Dimwit, but I don't know how they could have known of him." Bartholomew answers.
"It matters not though, the threat is even more pronounced than I had imagined."

Btw, you notice that he did not even hesitate to call Faerin "Your Grace." He obviously has a means of staying well informed of events in the region.

"I'm not sure why they have congregated here. Perhaps it had something to do with Dimwit, but I don't know how they could have known of him." Bartholomew answers.

"It matters not though, the threat is even more pronounced than I had imagined."

"Could it be that, to find their Barbarian-empowered friend, they were also able to scry for him to stay informed? It does seem to be the thing one does out here ..."

Faerin nods, making note of Bartholomew's knowledge of her new position and reminding herself to speak with Octavia about the potential to block magical prying eyes.

"We are moving to put a stop to them, cutting through them here to check on what may be the center of their activity. Are there any others like Dimwit, or any other...experiments on the premises?"

Ekundayo stands by and listens to Faerin and Bartholomew conversation regarding the trolls.

Ekun, you guys have the location of the dwarven fortress. Whether it's inhabited by the trolls now is an open question.

Octavia proceeds to search the bodies of the slain trolls.

"Alright. I would try to to avoid further experiments for the time being, based on the possibility those others were drawn to Dimwit somehow. We are headed to look into what may be the source of this strange immunity they have. I will have a patrol come by here to check in and make sure they haven't returned." Faerin replies as they clean up the remnants of the violent battle. "We must make haste."

Before they leave, the Druidess steps out into the open, calling upon the winds to deliver a message for her. A gentle breeze dances around her, playing through her hair as she imparts her message, before the summoned zephyr is off, headed for the primary meeting chamber back at Stag’s End, and carrying her voice with it.

"Baroness, should we stay until a patrol shows up, or should we continue our search for the trolls?" Ekundayo queries.

"I would think continue. It should be a bit before they're able to amass any numbers in this area again, Bartholomew should be relatively safe until Kesten can send a few people." Faerin replies.
