Here’s my Survival Aid Anothers for all 9 spiders:
1) 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
2) 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
3) 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
4) 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
5) 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
6) 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
7) 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
8) 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
big one) 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

Hilde's got a +6 Survival, with a MW Survival Kit bumping it to +8 for MOST situations, but harvesting poison isn't one of those.
Not real enthused about collecting the poison, but will help if the group actually tries.

Uret Jet |

Hm, you and me both Hilde. ;)
Considering the delicate work that goes into such operations, I'd only allow a single aid another check on each. This work will take at minimum 2 hours (You're not seriously just doing it all back to back), and will be... Quite messy indeed. It will be late evening by the time it's done.

Dawn has +8. I expect the DC to be 16 to 18, with -2 to the roll unless a healer's kit includes surgical tools.
Uret, if she fails by 5 on any aided roll, feel free to have Mary take a dose of poison. :-)

Uret Jet |

Both of you would be doing it, so both would be affected by failure.
In regarss to if you actually do it or not (currently ignoring Mary's ahead of schedule rolls), we have at lesst two fkr and two against spebding the time doing it. Emma and Dawn would need to voice their opinions on if you really go through withbit or not.

Dew in the Dawnlight |

I'd prefer to get back on the boat. I don't think the coin we could make would be worth the time we'd loose missing the ship. But I'll help, and take my dose of poison, if we decide to stay. Waste not, want not.

Black Mary |

I'm sure we can harvest and yet not miss the boat. I was under the impression we had till dawn. If I'm not recalling correctly, someone please straighten me out.

Uret Jet |

I wasn't gonna say anything, but yep, he didn't give you til dawn. He gave you til dusk.

Black Mary |

My bad. Somehow I got dawn out of what he said. Now I understand everybody's concern.
GM, what does the west show out the window?
Uret Jet |

When dawn checks the window, she notices that the sun is almost completely beyond the horizon. She can still see the ship from high up in the tower, though it's hard to make out what anyone's currently doing onboard
You can either choose to skip out on your ride to town for possible profit, or eschew the spiders and get to thr ship before they leave ya. Or, some unknown third option that you as players somehow come up with...

Black Mary |

Gah! My post hasn't shown up in the thread, yet, and keeps appearing and disappearing in my post history? Stupid database problems.
Me too!

Uret Jet |

I thought I was the only person having weird issues with Paizo. It makes me glad to know that others are suffering .

Uret Jet |

Behold- I have used my magnificent GM powers to fix the thread. You may grovel at my feet at any point.

OOC: I'm guessing they're about to lead Kaliban's horse back aboard when Dawn stops them?
Mary feels a pang of emotion upon learning Kaliban wasn't traveling with them. She admired his character.
She would go with him but on foot she'd only slow him down, and Celeste wasn't big enough to ride yet, not for years really.
OOC: Btw, Grickly might care that Mary left behind a dagger, 2 javelins, and some padded armor. Those are worth a handful of gold pieces for some buyer (4gp/5sp is half new value). If he can salvage any worthwhile armor from downstairs, all the better.

Uret Jet |

Grickly saw pieces of art, he wanted them, because tallfolk sure to love their shiny bobbles. Now, Dawn giving up 75 gold... That's a trade off he'd probably take.
About the horse, no, they were currently unloading your stuff (and Kaliban's horse), because they're not a buncha pirates who'd steal from their passengers. Leave said passengers behind because they're holding up their schedule? That's another matter.
Kaliban, Dawn is giving you an out so you can actually join with the party instead of forcing a party split. Can I prod you to take it OOC? I'd rather not go that route.

Black Mary |

Here I was figuring what speeds a warhorse and a keelboat are, and how many hours each travels. If you hustle your horse for the last two hours, you can get 50 miles out of an eight hour travel, inflicting 1 point of damage which the horse heals overnight. This all assumes plains terrain, probably readily available in the Cursed Lands.
A keelboat does like one mile per hour or four with the current but can travel up to 24 hours in a day.
All useless facts now.

Hildeborg |

But the ship can cross the water in a (roughly) straight line, while the horse has to deal with the shape of the body of water and go around it. The two distances can be drastically different.

On a river?

Sorry to have been so sporadic with posting. On top of it being the busiest week all year to date at work (thus no posting during work hours), I ran over something on the highway Monday which I thought caused minor damage but which in fact was so bad that the insurance company is totally my car out. So I've been without a vehicle off and on, and will continue to until I get find a new ride to purchase. In the meantime I'm stuck with the bus, which takes three times as long as the car did, or Uber, which costs me an hour and a half of an 8 hour shift. So, I'm trying to keep up, but my time is much more limited than it used to be during the week.

According to overland travel rules, as most of you were on foot it's take the group a few days to reach Wine's Edge without the boat. Thr boat Wil, by now, get there at around late afternoon if it departs within the next ten.

Uret Jet |

@Rando: No need to worry so much about your game presence if life is kicking you like that,'ll make sure your character isn't left behind anywhere. I do hope your situation he's sorted, but more for your convinence then mine

I'd like to finish our trip to Wind's Edge and move on to the next leg of the adventure.

Uret Jet |

Do you want to just skip over the dialog with the captain then? I was curious why nobody else was saying anything. Of course, it's the weekend. Always quiet on the weekend.

Uret Jet |

Yep, just as I said. Weekends are always slow. Hope your guests don't cause a ruckus... Unless that's what you're hoping for? Hmmm.

Uret Jet |

The sleeping quarters is, indeed, full of hammocks. The governor who sponsored your quest didn't exactly shell out for a pleasure cruise.

Black Mary |

I would gently encourage those who wish to RP dialogue to do so.

Black Mary |

OOC: If our GM rules it would work, Mary can forgo sleep to minister to Kaliban so he heals 2 Strength per 8 hours rest instead of 1. Or Dawn might consent. (Take 10 Heal for either)

Uret Jet |

Well, I was going to move us forward, but I'll let you interact a bit more and just write it up separately. Either Dawn or Mary are free to provide care during the night for Kaliban, and probably Hilde as well. Simply decide on who's doing such and we'll be fine.

Uret Jet |

Just let me know when you're ready to move on.

Uret Jet |

I, lords, really? I'm not sure how to react to even react to that. Christ... I'll take some time to process this, before moving onto less important issues such as where Mary goes from here.
Please give my regards to his family if you can, Rando. I know you were close with him, I hope you'll fair alright.

Uret Jet |

Kaliban, Hilde, please treat your recovery as if you had rested a full day of complete rest. That would be 4 HP per HD you have, and 4 points of ability damage. Consider this as Mary's parting gift, along with the various items you collected before.
I don't want to immediately jump into locating another player to fill the void Mary leaves, as it just doesn't feel right yet. Later, perhaps. Not now though.
Mmm... Well, either way. You've made it to what was meant to be the first leg of your journey, Wind's Edge. I've included some details on the town and some scant location names for what I have numbered, though players being players, I'm sure you'll force me to invent new locations entirely. Everyone is starting at where (1) is located on my town map, but how you begin your investigations or what you even do first at all is up to you.
You can find all relevant maps linked at the top like usual, with detailed information to be stored in the document later on.

Uret Jet |

170 gp, 17 sp, and 5 cp
300 in Misc. Trade Goods (Art, Cloth, Etc.)
Sandstone Sculpture of Kitsune Nobles (DC 15 Nobility) (DC ? Appraise) (? GP)
Raw Hematite
Chainshirt
light crossbow and 7 bolts
Masterwork Light Steel Shield (159 gp), which bears markings of a foreign country's military
a sealed letter addressed to someone named "Ellium Dorrior"
Oil of Magic Weapon
Box of Charcoal (1 sp, 20 lb)
Flint and Steel (1 gp)
Piton (1 sp, 1/2 lb)
Sack (1 sp, 1/2 lb)
Silver Flask of Hard Whiskey
For the sake of organisation, I've consolidated the stuff you've found here. The coins are in a nebulous amount of pouches, that are worth basically nothing.
I know some items were taken for personal use, but please restate them for me again. After you do, I'll remove them from the list and you can add them to your personal inventories.

Uret Jet |

The duke of the Elish border-city was putting out a call for adventurers, and paid for your tickets to get into Ulnswhere. Where you were to go from there is largely up to you guys, as this curse is just as much a mystery to them.

Uret Jet |

Kaliban and anyone else that needs the reminder; Before the games start, the Duke lording over a town in Elinlitroi put out a call for adventurers to attend to Ulnswhere's curse, which was spreading into his lands. You never met him personally, only an official at most, who would've then payed for your fares and provided the right documentation to get you into Ulnswhere without trouble. Wind's Edge is at the very edge of Ulnswhere, and while it had it's own lord, they're not centralized in the town.
I'm sorry if this was all unclear.
