I have no clue, only dawn posted a response to my last post.
So my understanding is we're waiting until the ferry sails, correct? I mean, we don't need to go get an inn right now; I thought we'd handle that later. I didn't really see any need for further response on the topic.
Once we had all agreed to take the ferry, I didn't see a reason to draw the scene out with more than one or two quick comments.

Hey. I have surgery in the morning. Pretty minor, but it IS surgery. Outpatient, with a normal "don't work" period of 2 days, and a "no exertion" period of like 6 weeks.
I should be giving all my games another pass this evening, but I make no promises for the next day or two.
What is it? An umbilical hernia repair. Surgeon says I have multiple hernias right there together. All I know for sure is the general practitioner who referred em to the surgeon had it right when he said it looks like I'm going to give birth to a Titleist.

Was at the hospital from about 0730 till about 1615. Home. reasonably awake, and medicated. The entire area over the hernia and belly button is under s bandage I'm not supposed to touch until Saturday, so all I know is I have some ugly looking injuries from where the laparoscopic entry points were on my left side. Not as limited in my movements this morning as I thought I would be, which is good. Abdominal muscles are a little tight, though. Don't think I can blame them. I figured they would be a LOT more mad than they seem to be.
Any pain meds and/or adrenaline might be masking the pain... I'd still take it easy and assume they don't like exertion/stress.

What Kaliban says is exactly the case. You have no idea how successful their efforts actually were, but at the very least the populace has adapted to it, if not outright broken.
Apologies that you didn't get the big clue you were looking for at the Weathermen's Guild. Other things you had in mind to do in town, if I recall, would be trying to find that letter's recipient and possibly try convincing the garrison you actually defeated those spiders. The garrison is located within the tower, on the opposite side.
Would there be a government office? To try to look up the name?
Maybe someone at a decent inn, he must have been wealthy to merit the letter and the cost of sending it.
The church might hold some birth records if they were born in town, or marriage certificates. You can always try to gather information generally.

I live in a 3 generation home.
This last weekend, both of the youngest generation (one is 2 the other just had her first birthday) got sick. So did their mom. Monday so did their dad. Somewhere in there, grandma got sick, too. Now I'm sick. At least the youngest seems to be over it.
