GM Abraham |

I believe you cn double move as part of a charge, no?
Yes, that will work if that's what Tytus wants to do, and will even give another +2 on his attack from charging. But will also require him to take a straight path to the attack, which will lose him flank, so it'll be a wash. And it may possibly provoke. If Tytus will post his movement path as requested this will be simple for me to resolve. As it is, I can't resolve his action until I know what squares he moved through. If he doesn't post I'll just go ahead and make my own best guess about how to resolve it.

Since I haven't heard from Tytus I'll just rule that he used his actions, as stated, to double move into position. This means that his earlier posted attack is ignored as invalid, but it also means that he is able to get within 15' of the dragon without provoking an AoO (This is why I was asking for a clarification - the linnorm has 20' reach but because of the way that pathfinder does diagonal movement, Tytus could have moved to 15' distance without provoking by entering from the 4th diagonal.

The crag linnorm now turns its attention to the new foe that has presented himself, perhaps as a distraction? Perhaps as a strategem? Perhaps as a self-sacrifice? The dragon cares not - the tiefling will be delicious regardless!

Earlier... Tytus manages to fly in upon the linnorm without provoking and attack it once, hitting it with his adamantine dorn-dergar. He's surprised to see that it does much less damage than he would expect, though it does appear that his attack makes it sick to its stomach. Hopefully it won't begin puking fire!
Being sickened does not change the result of the creature's two attacks on Tytus - they both still hit, but it does reduce the total damage that it does to him by 4. Incidentally, it's a nuisance for your GM to have to go back and re-check results that have already been adjudicated. I'm doing it in this instance because this fight is crazy hard and I'm trying to help you out in any ways I can, but going forward I'll probably just consider it as water under the bridge (meaning, in this case, that you would have lost the benefit of the sickened effect). I hope this seems fair.
Also earlier... When the linnorm makes its attacks against Tytus, the brave tiefling is horrified to see its wounds also closing, healing all of the meager damage he had just done! Yeah, this fight is that ridiculous. The CR is only one more than the Ice Devil fight, but it feels like it should be more.
Caduceus calls for healing aid from holy Iomedae, but it seems she is a little busy at the moment, as she gives only a pittance. Caduceus, who was within 30' when you channeled? Hector I assume from your post. What about Anen? Also, was it your intention to move to 15' from the linnorm - it's not entirely clear from the map - but it will provoke if so - don't forget to show your movement path, please.
Tytus fights off the effects of the poison in the dragon's bite and then unleashes a barrage of attacks, benefiting from a flank with Caduceus. Unfortunately, once again, he sees that his adamantine dorn-dergar is far less effective than he's accustomed to. It does, however, appear that the linnorm is again sickened, and also that Tytus' critical strike did indeed find a gap in the creature's armor.
Tytus, please explain your attack bonuses to me. Why is your iterative attack 8 lower than your primary and haste attacks? Also, were you including flank in your attacks? And what's the source of the sickening effect?
The bold may act!

Anen - 14 dmg; Overland Flight 40' (19:00); Shield (16:10); Mage Armor (17:00); Prayer (r9); Fire Resistance (20);
Heccan - dmg; Mage Armor (02:00); Cat's Grace (16:10); Shield (16:10); Greater Invis (r11);
linnorm reflex: 1d20 ⇒ 12
The beast avoids any further harm from the spray of acid.Heccan manages to strike it with several more bolts of force.
Start of round 8
Target? 1 - Cad, 2 - Hector: 1d2 ⇒ 2
The horrifying monstrosity now turns its attention back to Hector.
Bite: 1d20 ⇒ 14
Hector attempts to parry the blow but he is not fast enough, as its jaws rip flesh from the arm of the flame of liberty...
dmg: 2d8 + 20 ⇒ (7, 2) + 20 = 29
... leaving him barely standing.
Hector, Fort save vs poison needed.
Pausing the dragon's attacks since what it does next will depend on the result of Hector's save.

Fort: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
damnit! not a time to roll a 1!

Conditions: Bless; Prayer on all but Heccan; Haste on Hector, Caduceus, Tytus; White lines indicate walls of stone 5' high;
16:00 Round 8
Caduceus - 72 dmg; life link on all; Smite; Enlarged (16:05); Haste (r11); Prayer (r9); Fire Resistance (10); grappled;
Crag Linnorm - 134 dmg; grappled;
Hector - 84 dmg; 3 Con drain; Haste (r11); Prayer (r9); Fire Resistance (10); poisoned (0/?); prone; weapon dropped in square; dead;
Tytus - 58 dmg; Heroism (17:40); Long Arm (16:10); Haste (r11); Prayer (r9); Fly;
Anen - 9 dmg; Overland Flight 40' (19:00); Shield (16:10); Mage Armor (17:00); Prayer (r9); Fire Resistance (20);
Heccan - dmg; Mage Armor (02:00); Cat's Grace (16:10); Shield (16:10); Greater Invis (r11);
Sigh, no, I'm afraid not a good time for a 1.
poison dmg: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 5) = 7Con drain: 1d4 ⇒ 3 This reduces Hector's Con to 11, reducing his maximum hp to 59.
The ravenous linnorm takes a ferocious bite out of Hector. Though the wound itself is not enough to drop the brave warrior, he immediately feels poison flowing through his veins, sapping his very life force. Try though he might, he is unable to resist the poison and then, with a gasp, he falls. The flame of liberty has gone out!
The linnorm now turns its attention to the paladin of Iomedae...
Claw 1: 1d20 ⇒ 5
Claw 2: 1d20 ⇒ 2
Tail: 1d20 ⇒ 15
dmg: 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (1, 3) + 10 = 14
... both of its claws miss Caduceus, but its fearsome tail manages to connect. Caduceus, confirming that your current AC is 28 (including your smite benefit)?
Grab: 1d20 ⇒ 18 Caduceus, you are grappled.
Constrict dmg: 2d6 + 12 ⇒ (4, 6) + 12 = 22
... having once again grabbed ahold of the paladin, the dragon squeezes him tightly, enabling him to easily see that the linnorm's wounds are continuing to close up, healing themselves.
As his life link once again activates, healing both Tytus and Anen, Caduceus mystically senses that he is no longer connected with Hector.
Pathfinders are up! The bold may act.
Though I try to run a challenging (but fair) table, this is the first actual PC death I've had since my second-ever time GM-ing when, with John Compton looking on, I rolled boxcars on a constricted level 1 PC and killed them outright, not having even realized they were in trouble. I'm sorry, Hector.

On second look, with HASTE, AC is 29, but I doubt that is going to make a difference.
Caduceus strains again to free himself whilst releasing healing energy into himself.
Break the Grapple {CMB+SMITE}: 1d20 + 22 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 22 + 6 = 37
LoH: 4d6 + 2 + 12 ⇒ (1, 6, 5, 6) + 2 + 12 = 32
Does anyone have Breath of Life (First Aid Gloves or the like), and can get to Hector?
Rules question. I assume that I cannot channel when grappled, as I cannot properly display/present my holy symbol. Not that is make a difference at the moment as no one is in range to benefit from it.

Nope, sadly. If we were to get a lucky break and drop this thing I can plane shift to a planar metropolis, get him back on his feet, and get back here, if we were wanting to continue to try to finish this module. I think with our party compisition, though, we may just not be up to it.
Anen casts his last slow.
SP: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 10 + 2 = 22
Not going to do it.

Heccan cries out as Hector goes down. "Damn Damn Damn! Damn it all to the nine!"
Heccan launches another barrage of magic missiles, feeling more and more futile.
Caster Check + Spell Penetration: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25
MM: 5d4 + 5 ⇒ (1, 4, 2, 4, 4) + 5 = 20
Sorry I cannot be more helpful in this fight. Most of my repertoire is not of much use here. If I can hit with these MMs, my hope is they add up.

Caduceus, re your AC, unfortunately he still hits, but only barely. Because the tail is a secondary attack its to-hit is lower.
Caduceus is unable to break free from the tight grip of the dragon's tail, though thankfully Iomedae is able to ease his wounds somewhat.
Caduceus, re actions while grappled, as far as I'm aware, the only restrictions of being grappled are that you cannot a) move; b) do two handed actions (such as wielding a two-handed weapon); c) take AoO; d) if you cast a spell or SLA you need to make a concentration check. So I don't see anything preventing you from channeling (or full attacking with your longsword, for that matter). It's possible that you are thinking of being pinned (which is a more severe form of being grappled)? Feel free to revise your action in light of this if you would have chosen another action (don't worry about the die roll already made).
Anen tries another spell but once again finds that the beast's resistance to magic is too great.
Heccan's magic missiles have better luck, however, and strike with full effect.
Tytus is up (and Caduceus if you wish to revise)

So, I have not had a character 'grappled' in over four years. I honestly had it in my head that Cad was pinned and could take no other standard action other than break the grapple. That is why I ried to break the grapple the first time it had me as well. Totally my bad for not realizing long established rules. My apologies everyone. That sucks, because we really needed the attacks. Well, here goes nothing.
Seeing Hector fall, Caduceus cries out. "You may have slain the man, but this I swear; you will NEVER extinguish LIBERTY!"

Using a few things on this next roll:
#1 Dragonfoe {From Dragon's Demand - Chronicle Sheet (2)} It allows for a reroll for an attack or caster level check against a dragon.
#2 Kassen's Boon {City of Golden Death Chronicle Sheet} Add 1d6 to a d20 roll or recall a spell slot.
