I'll be heading out for the evening soon. This scene with the old lady is amusing, but there isn't much else you can do here, at least as written.
I'd prefer to err on the side of caution and not risk too much frustration with difficult NPCs — especially when you visited two in a row.
When you are ready to move on, let me know where to next!

GM Doug H |

No worries! Generally, it seems like weekends off works for this group, so it's not a big deal if you missed Saturday and Sunday; thanks for letting me know, though!
Please do check in on the weekdays and post if you can.

GM Doug H |

Now that we're having some combat, please remember you all have one hero point.
In fact, since you went to every location in town, you get a second hero point for being so thorough!
So right now everyone has two hero points.

I don’t think you need to make an attack roll for electric arc. It doesn’t have the Attack Trait or say anything about an attack roll.

Re-reading the bloodseeker stat block. I believe that the Drained they give you doesn't stack, it's just acquired once any seeker drains you. Wouldn't have made a difference for Peaches, but the good news is Bramble is only Drained 1, not Drained 2!

Ok, you are probably right. I am still very new to PF2 but as the spell includes a save DC, your take is probably accurate. Not very clear on hero lab which is what I was relying on for the attack.

GM Doug H |

@Zallarra — I believe Daze only stuns creatures on a crit fail; the Basic Save also halves the damage.
@Gaz — Yep, we're all learning!

GM Doug H |

The Gameday con is slated to run to Nov 17; we should finish before that, but not by much.
You have one more combat left; if everyone checks in once a day we can probably finish by the end of this week. I can also get more strict about botting if someone needs to finish ahead of schedule. (@Zallarra — do you need to complete this before your con over the weekend?)
This one can tend to run a bit long with all the roleplay and locations to visit.

GM Doug H |

Thanks for letting me know! If you or anyone else wants to play your characters at the con or over the weekend, we can collectively try to push through and finish before Friday.
I understand that between Gameday VIII getting pushed back by two weeks, and our group spending so much time on the RP portion of this scenario (which I enjoyed!), your characters might have other upcoming commitments.
Otherwise, I think we'll finish early- to mid-week, next week.

No worries on the weekend. This is her first adventure so it won't affect anything there. I have 2 PFS second games planned and am thinking of going ahead and making a second character anyway.
Thanks for the offer though!

So I labeled the blue monsters as "smurfs" in initiative order. Apparently, anytime you type "Smurf" in your post, your avatar changes into a smurf. Which of course it did here, too.
I edited the monster names to avoid that, tried deleting the post and re-posting… but my avatar is still a smurf. It's pretty funny, but I worry a swapped avatar might cause undue confusion. Sorry about that!

Too funny. Quick question GM. Gaz has a spell that will give him dragon claws. In PF1, that would allow him 2 attacks at first level at max BAB. If I am reading rule correctly, that has been eliminated in PF2 and even if Gaz would have two claws, any extra attack after first is -5 penalty then -10. Agile weapons reduce to -4 and -8. So, for Gaz to attack with both claws, both attacks would be at -5. Am I understanding this correctly? Also, are claws considered agile? I have tried to find the answer myself but have not been able.

GM Doug H |

That's correct on the multiple attack penalty.
Dragon Claws
They are finesse unarmed attacks…
Doesn't say Agile to me, only Finesse and Unarmed.
Now, Barbarians and Monks both have claw options, and both explicitly note Agile (e.g. for Tiger stance: "[these claws] are in the brawling group; and have the agile, finesse, nonlethal, and unarmed traits.")
We can infer from looking at other class features that this is probably an oversight for the sorcerer, but until there's clarification for PFS the sorcerer's Dragon Claws don't get Agile.
I'll look around on the forums a bit to double check, because it's a great question.

GM Doug H |

Asked on the 2e forums about this, Gaz: https://paizo.com/threads/rzs42u4z?Should-Dragons-Claws-have-the-Agile-Trai t#1
This looks like a pretty clear-cut "no" to me. Anyway, hope that's useful to you for future games or even tweaking your build before level 2.

GM Doug H |

No problem! It's a new system, so closely examining the rules and questioning things that seem to be missing is a valuable exercise. We're all learning.

GM Doug H |

We need to finish this week as reporting is due soon. I think you all have this well in hand, so I will be botting where necessary to keep us on track. You might even be able to finish the fight today.

GM Doug H |

We have some outstanding items:
Zallarra,
Can you roll me a day job check? You can roll Absalom Lore at +4, or Performance at +4.
Gaz,
Can you fill out your info so I can generate a chronicle for you?
Player Name:
Character Number:
Earn Income or Crafting Roll (please designate which you are doing):
Faction Boon Slotted:
Please see the post here if you have any questions (I am also happy to help). If I missed this, please let me know.

Oh yeah. Sorry about that. :)
lore: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Player Name: Joey Martin
Character Number: 73425-2001
Earn Income or Crafting Roll (please designate which you are doing): See above. :)
Faction Boon Slotted:Envoy's alliance champion.

Derp. Bottom half was not for me. That's what I get for quickly replying after a weekend of a minuscule amount of sleep. Did get 6 games in over the weekend. 2 PFS2 , 2 SFS, 1 Savage Worlds Super and 1 Shadowrun.
:)

![]() |

Yikes! Sorry Doug. Totally forgot to do that. Here you go:
Player Name: Wicked Brew
Character Number: 70501-2001
Earn Income: Academia Lore: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Faction Slotted: Envoy's Alliance
Again, this is my first time playing PF2 and frankly the boon slotting stuff confuses the heck out of me. I think I am slotting the Envoy Alliance champion boon?

GM Doug H |

That’s right, Gaz. In PF2 you aren’t locked into one faction like in 1e, and can choose to represent a faction of your choice each time.
I would probably be simpler if they decoupled faction from boon slots.

GM Doug H |

I wrapped things up quickly as the con is about over, but you are more than welcome to post a final scene with your character or ask any questions if you feel there are loose ends.
Chronicle sheets are here. Please let me know if something is incorrect!
I hope everyone had a good time. I enjoyed running this scenario for you!

![]() |

Thank you for running and thanks to all for playing! It was a fun game!
This makes Zallarra second level! Woohoo!
What was up with the old lady and her protector? We never figured that one out.
Chronicle looks fine!

GM Doug H |

What was up with the old lady and her protector? We never figured that one out.
Good question. The scenario never explains it, so it's a mystery! It may be some sort of time loop or temporal anomaly. Or perhaps her caretaker has been enchanted or had his memories modified.
I'm hoping there's a sequel to this scenario that explains some of this — and maybe players can even meet the witch.
Congrats on level 2!
