Hamish puts his shield up, tucking in behind it. Then he puts his other arm forwards, aiming as best he can and zips across the battlefield up next to the phoenix. As he flies he yells to his allies, "HIT IT WITH ALL YOU GOT, WE GOT THIS!"

The lightning quick huge creature pecks at the incoming Theo and also at Styfis everytime he reaches for his quiver! Due to the nature of PbP, I will allow Styfis to stop shooting after the first arrow is launched if you wish, which means you would still have a move action available. However that move action cannot be spent on actual movement as you have already 5-foot stepped; similarly, you can still take your full attack but omit the last arrow, as it would result in the phoenix killing you. This is a one-time chance to reconsider your action. I will not allow this for other rounds going forward. I will calculate the damage inflicted on the phoenix after Styfis makes his decision. After Styfis' last arrow, the bird has no AoOs left, but if Styfis omits the last arrow in order to survive, the AoO roll and dmg will be applied to Hamish (but due to Hamish's AC 32, that will be a fail I believe).

AoO vs. Theo, bite: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (14) + 17 = 31
p/b/s dmg: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 2) + 6 = 12
fire dmg: 1d6 ⇒ 1

AoO vs. Styfis, bite: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (11) + 17 = 28
p/b/s dmg: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 1) + 6 = 11

AoO vs. Styfis, bite: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (6) + 17 = 23
p/b/s dmg: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 1) + 6 = 8
fire dmg: 1d6 ⇒ 1

AoO vs. Styfis OR Hamish, bite: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (13) + 17 = 30
p/b/s dmg: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 4) + 6 = 12
fire dmg: 1d6 ⇒ 5

Upon getting hit, Theo feels a strange force tugging at his essence to return him to the Grand Lodge:
Theo Will Save, Charlotte's bonus, dwarf bonus: 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 6 + 2 + 2 = 15
--> Theo is ejected from the Hao Jin Tapestry and is back at the Grand Lodge beside Aram Zey!!!
--> You can convince Aram Zey to send you back in by spending 2 Prestige Points—with the current state of the rift, there is little risk for further damage to the tapestry. If you do so, you reappear in the combat one round after you disappeared, arriving at the edge of the map.

Rallas delays. This table is in danger of NOT finishing Part 3 of this adventure before tonight's deadline. Please try your best to finish off this phoenix before tonight... that would prevent us from dealing with a 'fail' verdict from the Overseer GM...

One of Styfis' arrows almost pierce The Ruby Phoenix's heart! the creature attempts to finish off the dire threat that is Styfis!!!

Fire pours out of the phoenix out as its fury continues!

I vote that we use our free healing from an earlier success and also vote that the first attack to hit adds the extra damage from the regular aid token. Since we need two votes to use any stuff, please make a decision, even if it isn't what I'm voting for.

Hamish drops his conservative act and attempts to moves in to attack. He shouts out a challenge, "You may have killed my allies, but I'm still here by Pharasma's will!"

If Hits & Vote approved:
Added Allied Offensive Boon Damage: 2d8 ⇒ (6, 1) = 7

Boon:
You Really Be Goblin: You have spent considerable time--almost certainly too much time--studying goblins, and some of their worst habits have rubbed off on you. As a free action, gain the benefits of one of the following race traits for 1 round. When you use the trait, you may also permanently replace one of your existing traits with the new race trait, following all of the normal rules for selecting traits. When you use this boon, cross it off your Chronical sheet.
Advantageous Distraction: You are easily distracted, often at just the right time. Once per day as a swift action, you can be momentarily distracted in combat, such as by ducking an axe swing to inspect a toadstool. When you activate this ability, you gain a +2 dodge bonus to AC for 1 round.
Bouncy: Your bones and flesh are more elastic than those of most goblins—when you fall, you tend to bounce a little better than them as a result. Whenever you take falling damage, the first 1d6 points of lethal damage taken in the fall are automatically converted to nonlethal damage. You also gain a +2 bonus on all Reflex saves made to avoid unexpected falls
Goblin Bravery: You have a worrying propensity for overconfidence in combat. When facing an enemy that’s larger than you, if you have no allies in any adjacent squares, your posturing, bravado, and cussing grant a +1 trait bonus on attack rolls with non-reach melee weapons.

Please note that I will be replacing Hamish's Log Roller trait with the trait used today per the italicized section, thanks!

Hamish's attack is not a hit

When all seems lost, you see a hardy dwarf from another Pathfinder team runs from one end of the battlefield to the other, and hands the party a large Ruby Phoenix Feather, which seems empowered with thrumming magic!

"Me name's Aldran Ironfoot, dwarven fighter and cleric of Torag! Use this featha'wisely, fools! this can bring back life to your entire group, so keep it on whoe'er is playin' in the back rows! if you manage to finish playin' with da big bird up there, by all means, use it to repair the tapestry!"

I can't fly yet and it sounds like the phoenix is in the air now, so...I can't do anything.

Nyloth watches as the phoenix battles his allies in the air and considers either taking cover in the cliff side or simply retreating away from the fight for now.

Total defense I guess

FORGET ABOUT VOTES NOW: IT'S CRUNCH TIME! ANY PLAYER CAN TAKE ANY BOON ON THEIR TURN. Just pay attention to the wording: some apply to the whole group regardless of map positioning. Some don't. CHECK OUT SLIDE 5 AND CROSS IT OUT WHEN YOU TAKE IT!

"Ah, hell, this is a really stupid Idea" Charlotte shouts as she pulls out her flying broom from her Handy Haversack and uses haste to fly 40 feet up and across, trying to get a line on healing Styfis (Since her one attack spell seems to be ineffective)

I'll activate the Burst of Healing Free bonus (I think we also have an aid Token) to heal everyone 3d6. Hopefully that'll be enough to keep Styfis Alive.

Everyone heals: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 2) = 10

As this happens, a tengu with in very fancy robes with a Katana flies over head and channels positive energy, healing everyone for 10 damage.

Hope the GM doesn't mind a little flavor from one of my other characters, a Tengu Shaman with the life spirit.

**OVERSEER ANNOUNCEMENT**

The colossal ruby phoenix grows more resplendent and terrifying with each restored feather that soars into the sky to meet it. The magnificent bird lets out a final screech as its shroud of flames intensifies, utterly consuming it. The phoenix is gone. As ruby ashes drift towards the tapestry, the invaders, seeing the tapestry’s last defense has failed, pour through, their entire force pushing through the largest rift in a massive final attack. The entire world shudders as the rift widens.

Aram Zey steps forward to rest under the falling ashes. “Pathfinders, you fought bravely and well, and your sacrifices were not in vain.” Aram Zey pauses, and his expression turns pensive. “But, the tapestry’s tale has not yet ended. There is clearly a force at work here that is greater than we realized,” he gestures out toward the invaders, “Furthermore, we have not permanently repaired the demiplane—we have only patched the worst of the damage and prevented irreversible catastrophe. I fear that…” Aram Zey’s voice trails off for a moment, “Yes, just as I thought.”

The ruby ashes begin to glow, faint as smoldering coals at first, and then intensifying, coalescing, and swirling in beautiful patterns as they lift Aram Zey into the air. “It seems the key to defending the tapestry is allowing its guardian to be reborn. I will do whatever I can to provide the arcane energy necessary to keep the tapestry stable. In the meantime, I hope the Society will search for a more permanent solution. I refuse to believe that the knowledge of the legendary Ruby Phoenix herself has been lost to us forever.” The ashes and Zey converge on a single point, a great ruby ember in the sky. There is a spark, and then the ember explodes. A wave of fire engulfs the tapestry as the Ruby Phoenix emerges from the explosion with a triumphant, piercing cry. Aram Zey floats within its heart, his body engulfed in ruby fire. The explosion’s flames reach the invaders first, turning them to ash and cinders. The flames wash over the tapestry’s defenders without harming them. The tapestry burns—but the fires replenish it, scouring the wasteland and restoring the tapestry’s original environments. The phoenix beats its wings, sending wave after wave of fire into the Astral rift and searing the portal shut. The phoenix soars in a great arc across the sky and flies off toward the sun.

Thank you everyone for playing, this concludes the adventure! Thanks especially to the GMs, ACG box runners, and intrepid backup GMs that made this event possible.

GMs, the house earned the Radiant Ruby Feathers boon.
