Looking for confirmation that the fire wall doesn't actually extend to the north but that it is actually just being shown as going vertically and just blocks vision to the north.

Yes that's the visual intent and to provide representation that it's opaque and blocks line of sight. The sheet of flames goes diagonally between the opposite corners of the red rectangle Rallas is sitting into.

Here's a visual representation (view from the side). As you can see the fliers all have line of sight over the wall at this time, so I'll trim down the view from the top 3D effect and trust those on the ground to remember there's a wall

I'd say yes and withdraw back to the rubble pile. Should put the character in the least amount of risk, move things along and give options for them going forward.

Time-wise these last two combats have been brutally frustrating. Two forms of CC that have very few common counters.

I'm not complaining though, being forced to consider multiple options and workarounds is a great part of the game. But it has slowed our very quick play to a crawl.

Also, Hamish had 13 temp HP at the start of the battle from his False Life cast before the troll encounter, so he should have a little bit of that left (and will probably need all the HP he can manage next round).

One of the previous specials made sure to emphasize not to have NPC's use abilities that just draw out the combat, due to the time sensitive nature of things.
Not sure if this one made similar mentions.

The previous fight, with the giants was way overboard there... with no gain for them.

The wall here isn't really hindering things the same way, just some slow responding. Though calling for all our actions together would help some... separating one guy at the front of the round, vs a single opponent, seems unnecessary.

So ya, botting seems appropriate. Heck, its been 24 hours (more or less) now. Withdrawing out of the heated area seems easy enough.

PS: one comment on the giants --> all the martials had to do is walk up to them. The concealment would have also negated the AoO. Rallas was there, and retreated. I cannot for the life of me understand why it took so long for you all to get to them. The survival check not to get lost was DC 15. The fog cloud is one of their spell-like abilities and since they have low AC and saw a flying archer pepper them immediately, it was a perfectly normal response in my opinion. Same goes here for the wall of fire: you *can* take two or three rounds go around it, instead of just casting dispel magic or just walking through it and getting some healz, but I cannot dictate player choices.
