Game Master Zyfarion

IT IS THE 41st MILLENNIUM

For more than a hundred centuries the Emperor of Mankind has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Earth. He is the master of mankind by the will of the gods and master of a million worlds by the might of His inexhaustible armies. He is a rotting carcass writhing invisibly with power from the Dark Age of Technology. He is the Carrion Lord of the vast Imperium of Man for whom a thousand souls are sacrificed every day so that He may never truly die.

Yet even in His deathless state, the Emperor continues His eternal vigilance. Mighty battlefleets cross the daemon-infested miasma of the Warp, the only route between distant stars, their way lit by the Astronomican, the psychic manifestation of the Emperor's will. Vast armies give battle in His name on uncounted worlds. Greatest amongst His soldiers are the Adeptus Astartes, the Space Marines, bio-engineered super-warriors. Their comrades in arms are legion: the Imperial Guard and countless planetary defence forces, the ever-vigilant Inquisition and the Tech-priests of the Adeptus Mechanicus to name only a few. But for all their multitudes, they are barely enough to hold off the ever-present threat to humanity from aliens, heretics, mutants -- and far, far worse.

To be a man in such times is to be one amongst untold billions. It is to live in the cruelest and most bloody regime imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of technology and science, for so much has been forgotten, never to be relearned. Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim dark future there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods."

Question, how much backstory do you want on an ork? Fungus to boy, smacked some gobs and picked up a bigger gun. Got hired on as a merc with the promise of more dakka.

Why are you on necromunda? What is your relation with the Imperial Fists (perhaps a merc for campaign, or hired muscle to patrol the Stranger Spire in Hive Primus) Who specifically hired you, and why? That should be good enough for this.

Rann's got that much at least.

That's fine Velatinius. Add background when you can. Go ahead and post in Gameplay. I put information in spoilers behind a DN(Difficulty Number) if have the skill roll it and you can read the spoiler if you are successful then Role play it if want to share the information.

Velatinius Caericius was an arbitrator, descended from nobility who had slid into hard times but could still offer recruits to the adepta.

While competent at combat, as arbitrators must be, his real strengths lay in investigation, particularly in person.

And that's how he caught the attention of the Inquisitor. This mysterious figure was in need of assistance for an ongoing inquiry, and was hand-selecting allies. And Velatinius fit the bill.

Serving across worlds, the arbitrator became something else, something more. The Inquisitor clove to no obvious faction or ordo, now that he understood such things existed. His new master rooted out threats to the Imperium for destruction, either by him or by forces loyal to the Aquila.

Such as the Angels of Death.

On Karakus IV, Velatinius saw first-hand what the God-Emperor's sons were capable of, as they shattered a heretical army. Velatinius' role had been to identify the locations of heretical leaders for targeted assassination, and was involved in one such action himself when the Inquisitor took to the field. That is where the cursed blade ran along his arm - right before he took the bodyguard's head off with a handcannon blast.

The war won, and Velatinius recuperated, he discovered that the Inquisitor had moved on. But not before leaving him a new mission...

Your character by his background might be a little over qualified for this Velatinius as this is only a tier 2, but I can probably make that work.

Well, Velatinius is no interrogator. At least not yet. He's an experienced acolyte who has been thrown into a situation. The Inquisitor has faith in him. Surely!

I am sure he does, though don't expect to be calling leaders for assassination during an Astartes assault on a heretical army. This is not going to be that grand of scale. So your past is probably a lot more interesting than your future.

If you don't mind, I'm going to rewrite that piece.

On Karakus IV, Velatinius saw first-hand what the God-Emperor's sons were capable of, as they shattered a heretical army. The Inquisitor had brought several more experienced agents into the field hunting the heretical leadesrhip, and a few left away from the main fighting who were less ready for those challenges. While Velatinius remained away from the front lines, he saw enough to convince him of the might of the Astartes. And heresy, as he and his companions faced off against a heretical cell in desperate combat. That is when the tainted blade ran along his arm - right before he took the cultist's head off with a handcannon blast.

The war won, and Velatinius recuperated, he discovered that the Inquisitor had moved on, with the rest of his retinue. But not before leaving Velatinius with a new mission...

Markov Rann we have begun posting if you missed that.

So, what's the situation now?

I am having to do a hard thing. The hardest thing to do as a gamer I think. I am having to cut the number of games I am in.

We recently had a tragic death befall the family, on top of an already expected loss. Add to that the youngest having to go back in for a surgery in a few weeks and I will not ha ve the time I need for all the games I am in.

Thank you all for the time we have spent together, and happy gaming.

I'm sorry for your loss. Take care.
