Jek Tal'dor
Jek meets a lot of people as a courier. He frequents the Market, Hall of Speakers, and the Poor Sod tavern as well as some locations just beyond portals. He also has an affinity for casters that hasn't really come up yet (order of the staff). There should be enough potential hooks in there if you'd like to use him for a friend slot.
Nikrir Leldro
@Vaascht: I guess I forgot to respond to your offer to be a contact, sorry ^^;
Also, I think it'd have to be a proper friend in the party to make it easier to find a reason to join and stick around xD
@Jek: That might work :D
It'd also be fun if the most good party member is friends with the least good party member xD
Jek might've helped Nik to deliver some undead somewhere at some point :3
@Glorious Leader GM: whaddya think? A wizard guard slash courier can be friends with a necromancer, right? :3

Not gonna tell you how to live your pretend life. Just threaten it every now and then.
Nikrir Leldro
Speaking of telling us how to live our pretend lives, Nikrir Leldro's profile should be good enough ^^
Oh, and I keep forgetting to ask if I get more than 150gp since I'm starting at level 2.
I'm OK with 150gp and I wrote his equipment section that way, but if I'm supposed to get more, I'd be very happy if I could afford a darkwood heavy crossbow :3
Also, would it make sense for Nik to be anywhere near the party at the moment? or going there anytime soon? :3
I'll stat out a corpse companion while I wait xD
edit: I also found out the Emberkin (Peri-blooded Aasimar) sometimes have very pale skin. So maybe the attempts at lich-dom caused his eyes and hair to lose color rather than his skin xD
DM_Delmoth
500gp, but you can take your time on that because you'll be joining the group without equipment. And they are very near the Mortuary (in a manner of speaking) so if you say you're ready I'll introduce Nik in my next gameplay post.
Nikrir Leldro
I'm ready for RP and half ready for combat! xD
Also it's easy to spend an extra 350 gp when you wanted to spend an extra 380...
I'll just not have onyx xD
edit: assuming I have all my spells:
. 7/7 Power Over Undead (30' burst; DC 15 will)
. (1 at a time) Corpse Companion
Spell-like Abilities
. 7/7 Bolster (Undead) (+1 profane on attacks and saves; 1 temp hp/HD; +2 turn resistance; 1 rounds)
. 1/1 Pyrotechnics (DC 14)
Spells Prepared:
. 1st (3+1/day) Repair Undead (S), Grease (DC 15), Infernal Healing [x2]
. cantrips (at will) Acid Splash, Detect Magic, Prestidigitation, Spark
Also, would they have destroyed my corpse companion? I'm thinking 1HD bloody skeleton so it'd be tough...
Nikrir Leldro
BTW, is anyone healed by negative energy? I think I remember something about negative energy channeling not being bad? xD
edit:
Hey, a negative channeler would be very welcome from Rinika's perspective!
I think I found it. Is Rinika healed by negative energy? 'cause I have this negative energy heal that takes up my 1st level school slot and nothing to use it on...
DM_Delmoth
Schrodinger's Catfolk are half-undead so they react to energy as undead. So yes you can heal Rinika
Nikrir Leldro
Would Nik recognize Rinika as half undead? Should I roll Knowledge?
Alternatively, Nik did just mention that he can repair shamblers, and Rinika might recognize that such magic would work on half-undead...
Edit: speaking of rolling for things (did I mention I like alphabetical order?):
Age: 20 + 8d6 ⇒ 20 + (3, 3, 1, 4, 4, 5, 3, 2) = 45 years old
Height: 2d8 ⇒ (6, 4) = 10" + 5'2" = 6' tall
Weight: 2d8 ⇒ (4, 2) = 6x5 + 110 = 140 lbs
Seems that Nik might be a bit gaunt, which is perfect xD
DM_Delmoth
Sure DC would be 15. Religion is used to ID undead but in this case I'll take Arcana.
Nikrir Leldro
Knowledge (Arcana): 1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 9 + 1 = 18
I have Knowledge (Religion) too, but I've invested one rank fewer :3
@Everyone else: Oh, and feel free to ask Nik how he doesn't know how to make shamblers but has Skellington with him. He just kinda forgot about that one guy when answering xD
Vaascht
@GM, Perception is just +1 (it will just be level - 1 from the Fated perk), I had it calculated poorly initially.
I believe the guard had some gear we should be sure to pick up, namely weapons before we move on. I grabbed the short sword but can use the sling if needs be, or just Ray of Frost in a pinch.
DM_Delmoth
My notes were probably from before you rerolled. I'll put his full gear list up this evening.
Vaascht
I had it incorrectly displayed. I had counted ranks added by the Fated perk with the +3 of a class skill.
Also, with no spell book can I still cast my prepared spells (are they still prepared?) But cannot prep spells should we rest?
Never had a wizard lose a spellbook before, usually Bard my arcane casters
Nikrir Leldro
If I remember correctly, you can scribe prepared spells into a spell book (and spending the spells as part of the scribing, kind of like copying a scroll)
You can also prepare anything from my spellbook that happens to be a magus spell. You'll have to make at least a few annoying rolls, but Nik can definitely at least use Aid Another since he wrote it...
Nikrir Leldro
@Vaascht: BTW,
A magus can learn spells from a wizard's spellbook, just as a wizard can from a magus's spellbook.
Do you know Enlarge Person, Feather Fall, Grease, Infernal Healing, or Magic Missile? :3
Vaascht
We can do some trading, assuming I find my spellbook...
DM_Delmoth
Because this is something that everyone seems to forget did we want to house rule that you can do a full round action in a surprise round rather than the normal standard action? It would mean things would be more dangerous when you get ambushed.
Vaascht
Ah, yes right. Well if we stick with standard (I'm fine with that) I'll just move, and I'll miss my shot next round ;)
Nikrir Leldro
@GM: definitely want to keep the standard action only T_T
Which reminds me, ambushes should happen where everyone has a ranged weapon and can see what we're ambushing just fine ;p
BTW, I finally took a look at the treasure tracking sheet. It's really nice. Though the calculations seem off somehow...
edit: the weight calculation seems to be working as intended now.
gold value still seems a bit high :p

You had the wrong cost for your crossbow bolts. If you paid 35 gold for one silver blanched cold iron bolt you paid too much. I changed it to the correct cost and you came out where you should be.
Nikrir Leldro
Ah, weight and value for each item. That makes so much sense! There's a quantity column! xD
This is what happens when I just copy what I've got in my own spreadsheet xD
edit: I like how the citadel of fire looks like a giant angry monster head :3
edit 2:
I may have stolen the sheet made by Jek for my other games.
Is it stolen if the original is still there? :3

Did someone summon Maxwell's demon? 'cause I think it took heat from Vaascht's dice and put them into Nik's...

What's the light level here? I'm guessing with all the flames theres a good chance that light sensitivity is kicking in.
And is ALL our stuff gone, including Rinika's umbrella and specs?
Did someone summon Maxwell's demon?
I would think he'd be a really high-level Doomguard, let's hope not.
Vaascht
Yeah Jek, share some of that glorious dice love!
If it makes anyone feel better, my dice are ice cold on my other campaign too. Too bad they are being cold vs a confusion monster...
Nikrir Leldro
cold as ice? or... cold as the grave? :D
Also, e-hugs
DM_Delmoth

Like staring into the sun.

All your gear unless it was specifically hidden with sleight of hand.

uh oh...
Nikrir Leldro
By the doomguard? Geez, his CR is so high I can see it from here...
Rinika
Bliiiiiinded by the liyight!
And sickened because of her covetous Oracle curse about shinies. They took her stuff.
Nikrir Leldro
Fun!
Vaascht
Hopefully those hobgoblins will have some bling we can use to help you out!
DM_Delmoth
I added some color borders for the hobs, apologies if I forget to do this in the future. I don't have the color blind test site available to me. If any of you can't distinguish the colors feel free to change them up.
Vaascht
I am colorblind, so I'll be sure to let you know! Or I just describe location if I can't tell
Though I usually just say which one I think it is and everyone corrects me and laughs at me :)
DM_Delmoth
The other thing I can do is put a text box over their tokens with numbers.
Nikrir Leldro
I am colorblind....
Neat! Which kind if you don't mind me asking? red/green? the super rare all-three?
Vaascht
As long as you pick bright colors not really close to each other it's fine by me. I'm red/green and mostly have issues with colors that are close in shade like olive/rust or purple/magenta or whatever, sometimes yellow/orange give me problems if it's small.
But a yellow, green, blue, white, black, red guy are usually easy enough to tell apart.

What you have on the map is perfect, borders are thick enough I shouldn't have any problems
Nikrir Leldro
Note to self: use very different colors for zombie hordes...
Oh, and speaking of labeling monsters, did I guess right about the topmost (red) hobgob being the one that threw the thing at Jek? :3
Vaascht
I'm excited to finally have zombie hordes on my side
Rinika
I am just now realizing that I somehow never took languages.
Common, Catfolk, and I'd get two more from int.
If Schrodinger (or whoever was around the box) spoke something different to common, I'd say that probably makes sense. Otherwise, Delmoth, is there anything you'd recommend?
Nikrir Leldro
Same. Though we'll need to find onyx if we're going to get any before 5th level...
Also corpses, but I'm sure we'll find those after most fights :3
Which reminds me. Nik would like to keep all of the gems we find as part of his share of the lewt >:D
edit: @Rinika: idk what our glorious leader GM would say, but Draconic might be good if a wizard did it. All wizards can choose draconic as one of their bonus languages :3
Also, how long has Rinika been in Sigil? :3
Vaascht
Huh, I never picked bonus languages when I reclassed either
Rinika
Which reminds me. Nik would like to keep all of the gems we find as part of his share of the lewt >:D
That largely depends on how shiny these gems are....

Fair point, I like it. She's been in Sigil for a few months. Long enough to pick up some decent knowledge, but she's certainly no local and still struggles with some of the slang.
Nikrir Leldro
buuuut Yuelral's Blessing to turn not-onyx into undeeeeeaaaaaad~
Also Nik can definitely share xD
