Welcome to the PrC Power game.

You'll be Required to use a PrC with this game, as the Requirements for PrCs have been greatly reduced and these classes have been ignored for a long time, time to put them back into the light.

-- Character Creation Rules --

Stats: 20-point Buy (NO stats below 10 or above 16 pre-racial)
Traits: 2 (No Rich Parents)
Classes allowed: Core, APG, UC, NO Summoner, Gunslinger, Magus, Occult, and Cavalier
(or Samurai except by taking only one of two specific archetypes that bypass the Archetpye rule below).
Monster classes: Allowed but see below

Archetypes: Any from APG, UCombat, ACG, except those that use content or mechanics from banned classes.

Races Allowed: Core, and Monster Classes(Listed Below).
Alignments: Non-Evil

Spells: Core and APG Only.

Starting Level: 6
Starting Cash: 16,000 gp, BUT no Items can exceed 4000gp, and only one can exceed 1200gp
Starting HP: MaxHD(1st level) +(1/2 die + 1 + Con) per level.

PF PrCs: Core, APG, Paths of Prestage, and Paths of the Righteous (Note the ones from the Hard cover Books are more preferred)
3.5 PrCs; yes only from; Complete Warrior, Complete Divine, Complete Arcane, Complete Adventurer, and FrostBurn
(I don't mind bring some old PrCs back, but ask to confirm they can be used as they'll be upgraded some to PF power levels)

Please put your PrC down so I can print out it's new requirements.

Other 3.X Material: FullBlade, Warfan, Jovar, Mecerial Blades (Greatsword, Bastard, Long)

Is 3PP allowed: No, The Only 3PP allowed is Monster Classes.
Individual or small bundle of Monster classes Linked below.

Monster Classes;
Angel,
Archon,
Succubus(redeemed or neutral),

Erinyes(Redeemed or neutral),
Hill Giant (it'll be modified a bit),
lizardfolk,

Janni,
rakshasa,

Minotaur (or you could re-flavor as Half-Minotaur),
Satyr,
Ogre,
There are a Few other; Fey, Outsiders, and Giants that were in the Public Beta of Monster Classes; Huldra, Nymph, Fire and Frost Giants, and Movanic deva Angel.
Please don't ask for other monster classes then what is available.

Now I will say this, extreme Power gaming combos and Min/Maxed stats will not win you a spot.
Interesting ideas, like a Ogre rogue Shadow Dancer for example, will likely catch my eye a bit more.

Now for the Odd Rules of it,

Characters who don't use Monster levels must use 2 core/base class levels to help in meeting requires if needed,
i.e. if one went for the Spellsword PrC they'd likely need a Level in Fighter and a Level in either Wizard or Sorcerer,
But if they went Shadow Dancer, they don't need any specific class levels and could choose any two levels of any core/base class.

Those with a Monster Class may still Need core/base class levels to Meet their choosen PrC's requirements.
i.e. a Satyr arcane Trickster would still need a Level in Rogue and one in either Wizard or Sorcerer.

Those without Monster Classes need to have min 3 levels in a Choosen PrC.
Those with Monster Classes must have min 2 levels in their monster Class, and min 2 Levels in their PrC.

--------------

Now for the common Backstory part(s) that'll be needed especially for those with Monster Levels.

Your all part of a Mercenary Unit, The Wild Wolves, lead by Pip Bernadotte and Second in Command Shelly Harrison.
You all know each other,
Now those with Monster Class levels did an Contract that saw them in the end getting Cursed by a powerful Lich, into becoming something they fought.
Those Uncursed are the newer recruits and or those that did not take part in that operation.
Now the cursed members are slowly changing into monsters and the curse consumed some of their class levels for fuel the first 2 monster levels and in a few cases modified/changed their classes after the initial change.
Some Cursed members are enjoying the curse, others hate it, others are neutral about it.

Game Submissions Deadline: 2 weeks maybe earlier if a lot of responses.

Might go with something else, but can I get a ruling on the Winter Wolf and Pseudodragon from the "Monster Classes: Woodlands" book?

No Woodlands Book

The Beta of Monster Classes includes the Following;
Huldra, Nymph, Fire and Frost Giants, and Movanic deva Angel

Dot. Busy tonight for an oral board tomorrow morning, but should have time after that to whip up an entry.

@DM:

So I have been thinking a bit more, aided by the primer you provided for the setting... that Sanguine Angel as such might not be the right fit. That being said, I do kinda want to do an ex-Grey Maiden. So I did some digging, and I think I have a combination that might work... but would require your buy off and blessing. I am thinking of pulling together a fighter, adding a few grey maiden feats that are found in the AG (specifically I had in mind Gray Maiden Initiate and Unbreakable), and then angling into Stalwart Defender from the APG.

Wanted to get your take though before I start going too deep into the weeds.

DM Azure_Zero wrote:

No problem! And sorry for asking, I didn't see the bit about not doing that in the post initially. I've got some other ideas mulling around.

Oh I'll need to look into the fire giant.

@The Emerald Duke:

Unbreakable; I'll say no to as I feel you'd need to be a real veteran Gray Maiden to get that feat.
And which aspect of Gray Maiden Initiate are you looking at? as Avenging Knight is the only one that might on the fence, the rest are good.

But over all it's good.

So, to be sure: going Draconic Disciple would give a level distribution of Sorcerer 2/ Draconic Disciple 4?

That is correct, though Sorcerer 3/DD 3 is also correct.

Teiidae wrote:

I might get that up tomorrow...

@DM:

The two I was thinking about were Faceless Maiden (or barring that, Scarred) and Gray Maiden Endurance. The idea would be that she rarely, if ever, takes off her armor, as the indoctrination process partially wiped, partially warped her personality to the point where she no longer feels like herself without it on. (I actually plan on, assuming invite, rping her so that if circumstances require she take it off that she alternates between listlessness, timidness that borders on cowardice, and unbridled wrath.)
It also should somewhat go without saying that her one item over 1.2k will be her gray maiden armor. Sadly at 1500 g it counts as the big purchase item. Will probably throw the extra 150 gold at it to make it masterwork, given she will be doing all of her skill checks in it.

So many neglected PrCs to choose from. Duelist, Arcane Archer, Shadowdancer, Eldritch Knight, Master Chymist...picking one is going to be the hardest part of a submission.

This is my dot. Thinking human cleric with the 3.5 RADIANT SERVANT OF PELOR, worhsipping Sarenrae. Will need to see the conversion to commit.

Down the road can we take a second PrC?

sooo. What about the Mystic Theurge? Wizards 1 / Cleric 1 / MT 4?

Are we allowed to play normal monster races with HD, say A Blink Dog? As 3 of the levels and then three levels of PrC?

Nikolaus de'Shade wrote:

If your going monster it Has to be from the list in the OP.

Ellioti wrote:

That is Valid and Oked.

DM Trawets wrote:

RADIANT SERVANT OF PELOR is locked to Pelor in 3.5 for I could bring Pelor into the Patheon as a minor deity.

You can take a second PrC, but the second PrC Has to meet the FULL original requirements.

Passed my board (have a few "look up" questions, but that won't take long)... so onto crafting my submission.

Scarab Sages

Wow, this is a blast from the past. I had a Frostrager from Frostburn back in the day that barely even got to the prc. I'd love to give it another try.

Looking to go Barbarian (Elemental Kin) 2 / Frostrager 4 if that works for you DM Azure_Zero

Thought I was going to go with a Kobold duelist, but I see that featured races aren’t available. Rats.

Any chance you’d consider Eliminating Feat Taxes? For PrCs with a high feat tax to get in, this would further streamline things. To use Duelist as an example, it normally requires 3 feats to get in: Dodge, Mobility, and Weapon Finesse. The Eliminating Fest Tax rules basically grant Weapon Finesse to anyone who wants it, then rolls Dodge and Mobility into one feat, so you’re only needing one feat instead of 3 to get in.

This could potentially get out of hand. I'm looking at you, Mammoth Rider.

I'd be interested in playing a Darechaser. The normal classes will be some amalgam of martial classes. I haven't ever considered entering a PrC at 3 before, so I think I'd have to see exactly what it looks like. Swashbuckler has the best flavor fit, but I think getting Martial Flexibility of a Brawler or the Rogue Talents of a Slayer also have good synergy

Darechasers are ambitious and mechanically rewarded for picking a course of action that isn't certain to succeed and have some unique abilities. Hail The Flexing Arm!

I'd be looking at a full build when I see the new requirements.

Ellioti wrote:

Pretty sure that Mammoth Rider was on the no-go list.

@The Emerald Duke
You can only take the feat Gray Maiden Initiate ONCE.

Also I allow some leeway on the 1200gp limit, but only once for either armour or a weapon.

@Ouachitonian
Feat taxes will remain, no folding of feats.

Fire Giant Monster Class

Simple enough. Here's my Frost Rager.

Background:

Born in the far North, Yaz’s clan had always had a somewhat fraught relationship with the Frost Giants they lived near. Ever seeking an advantage against the towering raiders, they learned to harness the spirits of ice, infusing their warriors with primal cold. Raised in this tradition, Yaz embraced the totemic might of his clan and fought against their giant foes with all his might. And lost.

Discovered several days afterward by a band of traders, Yaz remained in a fevered state for weeks as the band journeyed South. By the time he was recovered he was nearly a month’s travel from his homeland, and the traders prisoner. Sold into slavery, Yaz toiled for several years as a laborer and pit fighter before joining his fellow slaves in an uprising and slaying his master. On the run, he joined the Wild Wolves, and has been with the mercenary band ever since.

@Yaz Erfryr

Need More background of Being in the The Wild Wolves like what contracts Yaz Erfryr did.

Now it would be great to reference other characters but that part needs updating over time.

Cool, I'll work up some more story and watch for other entries to flesh out. Was the lich encounter part of a contract? Also, do we know anything about Pip Bernadotte and Shelly Harrison?

Now that I think about it, I may of giving input on these from classes. There was a thread some time ago about a savage species conversion. Brings back fond memories. Anyways I'll get to work on the once dwarf now fire giant character, what setting are we in?

DM Azure_Zero wrote:
Fire Giant Monster Class

Can you share up the Nymph and Huldra as well?

Might aswell share the frost giant.

Thanks for the all the work Azure.

The Wild Wolves:

Pip Bernadotte:
A Taldon Human of average looks and took command after the previous Leader, Hugh Jazz, died in the same battle where Pip lost his left eye and keeps a patch over it.
He's laid back, but methodical and careful, and also a bit of a womaniser.
Classes: Fighter/Rogue

Shelly Harrison
A Varisian Woman of wit and thought, she helps Pip keep the Wild Wolves in the red and helps in finding contracts for them.
She is also the one that helps in keeping the more peeping toms in check generally with explosives.
Classes: Alchemist/Rogue

----

The Lich encounter was a contract to clean out a Castle in Ustalav of Undead that started spilling out into the country side, slowly making more undead and becoming an army of darkness.
Those that Defeated the Lich ended up with a monsterous curse turning all of them partially into monsters and slowly becoming more monsterous are time goes by, with some Members getting it further progress in becoming a monster then others.

Teiidae wrote:

Mostly Pathfinder's default setting.. with minor edits..

Frost Giant.

Huldra

Nymph

I'm getting a strong Berserk vibe from this campaign.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

That is a partial influence for this campaign....

Also wish the mangaka would release more chapters as I hate cliff hangers and with a hiatus..

I knew it! Yeah I personally wish Kentaro would take on some assistants. His schedule got a little better and all his little side projects are down at the very least. It will be fun working for Pip/Judo. While I have you, how do you feel about the Frenzied Berserker?

The Frenzied Berserker, while it fits a Berserk inspired game,
That PrC is a No, I played in a group with it and it was broken and the risk for fellow party members is there, in fact we almost lost a party member in that game to the Berserker.

If you Want Dragonslayer, get a FullBlade.

Indeed they can't. I spent all my time thinking about the PRC, and was less worried about the base. With regards to source limitations, is that just for class, or are feats and traits similarly limited?

I figured as much, but had to ask. There is a way to work, but that requires a dip red guard of thay(something like that) and for another party memeber be a red wizard. One of the class features makes it so the guard auto fails spells from the red wizard.

Okay so Fighter, Fire giant and Stalwart defender it is.

Pretty much keep to the Books Listed in the OP, for feats and traits (both kinds)

You can ask for feats outside of them, but if they are for feats that act as class features of invalid classes it is No.

Oh I did Forget this

Background skills are In use

I should see some ranks in Profession()

Check the OP,

Stats: 20-point Buy (NO stats below 10 or above 16 pre-racial)

Also not a fan of External sites holding character Data,
And try to Keep the traits (the non-racial ones) to the APG.

Scarab Sages

Gotcha. I'll double check my math, but that was a 20 point buy with the highest stat being a 15 before racial bonus, and the +1 at 4th level.

Noted on the traits. I can recreate the sheet from Myth-weavers.

I don't see anything about Pathfinder Unchained in the OP. To be clear, unMonk, unRogue, etc are off the table, right?

Ouachitonian wrote:

They are off the table, the only part used is the Background skills so players can have some skill points to support their Background story.

Going to work on an arcane trickster. I have a fondness for that class.
