Kavax won't mind being around a demigoddess. No more different to him than normal humans, really. And he's not worried about vampires either.

Yeah, I just hadn't gotten around to it. One of the things I picked as a drawback for Charly was she suffers from sensory overloads from time to time. I didn't really use it in her last adventure, so I'm giving Jon permission to hit Charly with some bright noises, loud colors, and sensations of fire on her skin when he feels like they might be appropriate.
Also, since Charly's an ex-cop, would it be possible for her to have known the missing police officer, even been friends with them?

You level up as soon as you earn five experience. That can be in the middle of a session, too. Technically you don't need to spend it instantly, but there's no benefit to not doing it.
And yes, that is one of the reasons I wanted Charly to come on over. I was simply planning on dropping that at a suitably dramatic moment, but the cop is someone you know.

I bumped up his Weird a bit. It was between that and 'Sharp to Manipulate' (from the Flake Playbook). I think I want him to be more magicky and grab some stuff from the Spellslinger book too (using his Expert Options).

I wasn't really thinking Cheshire or Kavax would have any really bad reactions. I was thinking more Carlos and the Captain would be aiming at her head when they realized they had a Vampire tagalong. I figured they'd be the most concerned about it being human. It also wouldn't be the first time the poor girl's gotten smacked around by her teammates. ;)

Another professional move that seems very useful:
Leave No One Behind: In combat, when you help someone escape, roll +Sharp. On a 10+ you get them out clean.
On a 7-9, you can either get them out or suffer no harm, you choose.
On a miss, you fail to get them out and you’ve attracted hostile attention.
Take a move from another playbook as I don't think Captain has passed a Charm or Manipulate Person roll yet and she must get something from that experience:
Flake - See, It All Fits Together: You can use Sharp instead of Charm when you manipulate someone.
Take a move from another playbook part 2 because it just seems fitting:
Flake - Suspicious Mind: If someone lies to you, you know it.

So, are we going to try to throw together a magic ritual to break this thing's hold over the rest of the group?

The way I see it we've got two ways we could try this:
1) Our three C's try a ritual to weaken the thing's hold on everyone, while at the same time the Captain tries again to hit the whole group with something too 2019 to be ignored. Kavax probably needs to break the gate down, so there's a physical way out when they're out of the mental trap.
2) The three C's try to break through the magical entrapment that closed the gate, while the others break through the physical barrier. Then we try to get everyone out of range quickly and figure that the spell will break on them once they're far enough away.
Other ideas? Opinions on which way to go?

Is it safe to presume that Kavax can see the vampire, since Carlos was near him at the time?
And yeah, Kavax is probably best on demolition duty. Or vampire duty, if we thing she's going to be a trouble. Though he is decently competent at magic, particularly of the destructive variety.
