"Thank-you, Mr Ser Omrax the Old!"
Ugh, I keep forgetting about the aid tokens. How many do we have, GM Batpony?
Can we use the damage option on Eadie's last attack, please?
GM Batpony |
now we have two unused tokens! Feel free to retcon token bonus damage in there!
GM Batpony |
Creature doesn't have any aura, so no Fortitude roll necessary. Added falling damage into creature's stats.
Meiosa floats over and drops a bomb, but it barely hurts the demon thanks it's natural resistance as observed earlier.
Eadie bravely rushes into the fight and delivers a hefty blow to he standing demon. It roars in pain and attacks the warrior and attempts to grab her. Thanks to the magical protection placed upon her, she avoids any kind of grapple, and eases out of the monsters hold, but still takes a fair amount of hurt from the Hezrou's sharp claws.

Enraged by Torag's actions, the demon caught in the hole teleports and appears in a blink of an eye next to the dwarf, ready to devour the wizard.

Doctor Meiosa |
Meiosa's mini seems to have been scooted over to the party. I'm pretty sure she was over the pit, so I'll scoot her back.
"Bah, why is everything here so damned resistant to fire? This is getting old..." The doctor leans to her right, hovering a few feet to the side before she brings her spear to bear and begins stabbing at the demon. "I've got your back, Eadie!"

Rudzik has Point-Blank Master, which lets him not provoke AoO's when using a longbow or composite longbow.
As his arrows miss, Rudzik whistles to Wilk and points at the demon.

Unnvar the Solemn |
Ahh I've fallen behind again...I was waiting to see where Eadie went then, got real busy IRL yesterday. Sorry
Unnvar Round 1:

"WOO HOO! Unnvar, you are a BAD, BAD MAN!!"
Assuming the demon is toast, Eadie *bumps* fists with the Slayer over the fiend's crumpled form.
"Torrag, keep safe! We'll be back directly to to cure you of the other demon, won't we Doctor?"
Emberwik |
"Anyone require extensive healing, or are we all fine?"
Torrag Grimm |
Torrag will use Earth Glide and take a 5 foot step straight down into the ground.
He'll then activate his Ring of Blinking.

The Pathfinders bravely continue their assault on the demons that invade the city. Closer to the entrance, Meiosa, Unnvar, and Eadie surround the Hezrou attempting to use numbers to their advantage. Meiosa's attack bounces off it's tough scaly skin but Eadie with the strength of the Gorum imbued in her for a moment strikes and cuts through the demon killing it.
On the other end, Rudzik and Wilk find themselves surprised by the demon's teleportation, and struggles at close range combat.

Emberwik flies to the ground and casts the spell Greater Path of Glory to start patching up his allies.
All Allies within the Yellow Squares will receive 4hp when their turn ends.
Second Round
Emberwik calls upon Barbed Chains to try and remove the Demon's footing.

4th Trip Attempt: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (18) + 15 = 33
It's something at least. On a successful trip he has to make a DC20 Will Save or be Shaken for 1d4 Rounds.
He then extends the Path of Glory to reach his allies on the far side of the demon.
GM Batpony |
His bonus to dex is -1. Per RAW, there's no limitation about doing a combat manoeuvre while grappled, but you won't escape the grapple.

Rudzik and Wilk retaliate with force as the demon maintains a tight hold on to the wolf. Up close, the Hezrou seems more difficult to hit as he uses Wilk as a shield.

Damage was barely enough, creature is unconcious!
Eadie, Meiosa, and Unnvar quickly rush back to the wolf's aid and strike hard with their weapons. With multiple wounds, it was only time before the demon succumbed to his injuries falling into an unconscious state.
Immediately, you are able to enter the armory, and just in time as you notice a group of humans attempting to steal from the bank in the wake of the chaos. But as they see your arrival, and the fallen demon behind you, they immediately make haste and run away reconsidering their decisions. Although some of you believe that the criminals should be brought to justice, clearly the city is in more pressing need thanks to the demon invasion.
Clearly, a lot of help is needed everyone as multitudes of crusaders and citizen continuously reach out for help. As soon as you drop the weapons of with the crusaders, another person, a lone junior Pathfinder amidst the raging combats rushes to your side. You recognize him as one of Jorsal's many assistants from the Starrise Spire.
“Greetings! Venture-Captain Jorsal had me looking all over for some more experienced Pathfinders, and it looks like you’ll have to do! There’s a meeting of some senior crusader officials at a command bunker in the district. They’d like to have some Pathfinder advisors present, so that’s who Jorsal had me looking for. If Emberwik has greater path of glory up, we might as well use that and conserve wand charges.
Rudzik nods affirmatively as he follows the junior agent.
Doctor Meiosa |
Meiosa stands back as the party deals with the looters, not wanting to worsen the situation.
Well, she's less likely to do it for their sake, and more so she csn stand in Emberwick's glowing path to heal her wounds.
"So they need us to play advisor? Alright, why not?"
Now fully healed, Meiosa dons her heavy coat and scarf to cover up her most obvious modifications.
GM Batpony |
Unfortunately, he responds that he not know the nature of the resquest, only that the best were to be brought in for a matter of urgency. Likely a discussion of mass strategy. Immediately, the messenger boy escorts you to the dingy bunker. The sound of fireballs echo in the distance as you enter.
A delegation of senior representatives from different groups in the city is in attendance, each member barking out orders to runners and guards. They pause briefly as you enter.
Here are the Pathfinder leaders Jorsal sent!" the juinor pathfinder shouts out to stunned silence.
After quick stares the conversations pick up again and the juinor pathfinder describes what he knows of the major attendees.
Gudrun Mazrarad is a dour dwarf who coordinates the local militia and town guard. She sits on a tall stool and, when not engaged in conversation, focuses on sharpening her many axes.
Aline Valerys is a woman barely over 18 years of age, who keeps to herself but represents the common people.
Dermont Tabecland is an imposing man garbed in full plate, sporting various icons of devotion to Iomedae.
Salantris the elven wizard has brought together a ragged host of soldiers from the scattered magical academies of the district.
No sooner have you acknowledged the attendees when the doors fling open. A young crusader squires rushes to the center of the room, flanked by a pair of young crusaders.
"Jepheth! What is the meaning of this? Where are your manners, boy? Several of the commanders shout angrily.
Amidst frantic breaths, the young squire raises his hand and circles the room with his finger.
"My liege and his company of crusaders has ... just captured... a gang of demon sympathizers that were waiting for specific orders... from this bunker!" The crowd gasps. He continues.
"Sir Dagon told me to tell you that the traitor walks among you."
Incredulous sighs abound but the squire presses on. He concentrates his finger wags at the four crusader leaders mentioned above.
"Indeed, one of you is possessed by a demon of shadow even still!
Abrupt yet hushed discussions ensue throughout the bunker as the four leaders stare at each other with dismay.
The squire searches the room for heroes to step up.
"Who here can root out the traitor within?"
Rudzik |
I'm going to laugh if it turns out to be Dermont, but that would be a bit too obvious.
Rudzik scowls at the mention of a traitor. "Bloody fools," he mutters under his breath before turning his full attention on the suspected leaders. "Ain't good at talking with folks, but I'll watch 'em," he says to his companions.
GM, you can assume Rudzik is Taking 10 to observe everyone. I've included the bonus from Favored Enemy in case we're dealing with a literal demon and not a spell/mind influence.

For everyone who decides to patch up with Greater Path of Glory, get back minimally 32 HP cause of how fast it expands.
GM Batpony |
If there was a traitor in the room, he/she hides very well as the each of individuals in question seem to look genuine on their part.
Sense Motive is more appropriate in this situation.
The four leaders look incredulous as Torrag attempts use of magic to discern the traitor. Salantris sighs. "Nice try. This entire building and everyone within is under the effect of a nondetection abjuration. Your spells will have difficulty here."
Torag and everyone else, give me a CL check if you attempt a spell that has an element of 'detect'. True seeing, zone of truth, discern lies...etc and the likes would also be subjected to this spell as I understand it.
The room waits impatiently as all eyes fall on the Pathfinders in this very moment.
Further discussions with the leaders may betray their lack of detailed knowledge. (Keen roleplay=more bonuses!!) You could discover this with Knowledge checks that could then aid any sense motive checks you wish to attempt to uncover the demon's deceit. Local for Gudrun and Aline, Religion for Dermont and Arcana for Salantris.
Doctor Meiosa |
Meiosa watches the scene unfold with a raised eyebrow, smirking to herself behind the scarf. "Wait, there's an investigation looking for a demonic conspirator and for once I'm not on the suspect list? Well, this new."
With a playful tone, pathfinder turns towards her allies. "I bet it's the paladin looking one. Those self-righteous types are always so bad at self policing." she says, not quite quietly enough to be overheard.
"Well! Let's begin." she says, approaching the Salantris. Meiosa holds up an arm and pulls back her sleeve, revealing her muscular, scar-and-eyeball-covered arm. Afterwards, she reaches into her medical kit and draws a scalpel. "Now play very close attention because I'm only going to do this once."
Finding a bare spot, the alchemist relaxes her arm as best she can before drawing the blade over her skin and making a clean cut. She shudders a bit before tucking the blade away and grasping her arm. "If you look closely, you can see the excess tissue. I have an underlay of tissue planted beneath the skin to encourage healing." She hisses with pain as she uses her fingers to spread the wound, giving the wizard a close look at her work.
After making sure the scholar gets an eyeful, she releases her grasp and the wound rapidly heals, sealing itself shut with little more than a trickle of crimson trailing down her arm and into her clothing. "If you're worth the ink you scribe with, you should be able to recognize the regeneration pattern and tell me what kind of creature served as the donor for my enhancement."
Meiosa shakes her arm and does her best to relax as she awaits a response. Really, she was only somewhat certain that the scholar would be able to understand her unusual work, but she was also testing for a reaction. Perhaps a demon would be more excited by the display than anything?
Doing some minor damage, spending a use of spontaneous healing on it.

Emberwik |
"Unfortunately, I am not well skilled to rooting out individual traitors..." Emberwik says with a little hum of amusement in his voice. "Perhaps the best way to be certain is to use... The relic."
He walks in front of the suspected. "Its most impressive; a special device from the capital of Nidal; Pangolais." He paces slowly, staring each of the accused in the eyes.
"No doubt you have heard what the students have come up with to determine how far pain can go before someone suffers their final breath? Its truly remarkable. One of the best ones made is able to detect the very hints of chaos and lies, burning away in the soul. Only those who have passed their final exams are able to carry one away from Nidal."
Bluff: Convincing the Accused I have something like this and am willing to use it: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (12) + 16 = 28
He looks to his allies, attempting to pass them a secret message. "Shall we bring it in and test them?"
Bluff DC20: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (12) + 16 = 28
The secret message goes through to my allies, and it is I am playing this up until someone reacts.
This is the best I can contribute to this.
Torrag Grimm |
Local: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17
Religion: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31
Arcana: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (14) + 20 = 34
Torrag ignores the looks he got from casting, not really caring what any of them thought. He reaches into his mind for any clues his studies may provide.
He continues to silently stare (and judge) each of the persons in this room.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20
GM Batpony |
?: 1d4 + 1d20 ⇒ (3) + (15) = 18
Each individual responses in a manner that you currently expect, answering each question, not perfectly, but in a way that doesn't suggest ignorance to the subject matter.
Salantis explains that although he does not immediately know the named creature of the piece of flesh, he knows of many creatures with the regeneration ability and begins naming many a type of creatures that could regenerate. In fact, from his demeanour he likely believes this test to be beneath him but entertains it anyway to rid the suspicions off him.
Gudrun looks funnily towards Eadie, and answers in an angry, perhaps proud dwarven manner. "You don't mean Thurl your very own Pathfinder Captain? Definitely tattooed, but not a female, nor an elf, are you sure we speak of the same Thurl?"
To Emberwik's scare, they all look equally nervous, perhaps haunted by hidden secrets. However, Unfortunately at this time, none of the suspects are showing tell tale signs of possession as of yet.
The combination of sense motive bonuses from the other skill checks did not beat the DC at this time (You may used the Aid token to boost the sense motive skill if you wish). You may retry the Sense Motive & Kn attempts (or try other means), there is no penalty for retrying. We cannot move on from this encounter until someone is accused as being possessed. All eyes on the Pathfinders.
Unnvar the Solemn |
Unnvar watches the exchanges with interest, definitely not the most intuitive at picking up on those with intent to deceive. He casts guidance on himself to heighten his senses.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 7 + 1 = 16
He simply has no clue.
Eadie Navhelan |
"Are you sure we speak of the same Thurl?"
“Pretty sure, yep.” Eadie responds enigmatically, retaining her composure in the face of the dwarf’s aggression.
Slipping off her stool, she strolls over to Aline. “Ms Valerys, it appals me how out of touch nobility often is with the everyday problems of common folk.”
“My own Archbanker, Darb Tuttle of Korvosa, has no clue what a pint of milk costs at our local Green Market. But there is no issue with you on that score.”
“I asked the Pathfinder initiate that keeps our barracks fireplace stoked what a load of Gonzi firewood costs. I have no doubt you would know the answer to the nearest copper common.”
(trained) Savior of Knowledge (local) boon: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (11) + 22 = 33
Again, please pass any Kn (local) aid to the party member with the highest Sense Motive score – possibly Torrag? And also please apply the aid token to the SM roll.
Torrag Grimm |
Torrag looks among the group a smile comes across his face,"Let's have a drink!" Torrag pulls 6 tankards out of his haversack and 2 vials. He splits the vials evenly among the six tankards and passes them to Gudrun, Aline, Dermont, Salantris, and Dagon keeping one for himself. "This is nothing but simple Holy Water." He holds up his mug, "To the earth, to the mountains, to our health!" With that he drinks the holy water from his tankard, crosses his arms and stares at them while they take their drinks.

Aline is confused at Eadie's manner of investigation, but nonetheless humours her on the subject. "It clearly matters on the quality of the milk, is it fresh? Pasteurized? Salted? I've known that most milk sells for a 5 coppers to the half pound, now, what's a pound in pint? Perhaps you mean Kumis? Fermented alcoholic milk? Rare, but you'd be surprised, 10 times to cost of milk and 100 times tastier." Aline responds with utmost confidence.
Doctor Meiosa |
Meiosa gives the wizard a nod before turning back to her allies.
"Yep. I believe him. Knowledgeable like a wizard, and as arrogant as an elf.
Even behind the scarf, Torrag can tell Meiosa's face is scrunched up in disgust after he takes a drink of holy water. "You do know that stuff isn't made for drinking, right? I could tell you what goes into..."
"...you know what, I'll tell you later. Carry on. Also, do you happen to have a Protection against Evil spell prepared? I hear it's pretty good for this kind of thing."
Also making general checks while watching the drinking display.
