Slight adjustment to the plan. I think I can still get to the azata circle in 2 rounds if I first attempt a gentle rest attack - solely considering distance, no other factors.

"Uh, Angela, you are too close! You too Lynn!"

Sleeping Sword touches his holy symbol and glows with a soft, peaceful radiance. He slips one shoulder out of his backpack, and with his strange, lurching gait runs over towards Illvater, dropping his pack just behind Lynn.

'Illvater, I grant you the rest you have been denied! In the name of the Empress of Heaven, sleep once more!"

defensive fighting touch attack vs Illvater, Gentle Rest: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 - 4 = 13 Gentle Rest domain power, staggers undead for 3 rounds on a hit. Illvater charged this round, so I'm hoping that's enough to hit (and might Angela have actually hit?).

and since he can already see that Illvater is undead...

useful stuff in pack:

You both do. The charge feels like it happened last year.

Deathwatch doesn't give a person the ability to see through illusions (just to know its life status). The will save I just rolled for Sleeping however does.

Sleeping:
Beneath the glamer the 'dragon' is more like a pickled, water-logged wight. It's skin and scales dangle loose over its protruding bones. The thing smells of mold and rot.

With the lightest touches the Sleeping Sword funnels his ki though the monster, jolting it.

That was brave Lynn! thanks and I hope this plan works out ok! Kala can you move Stinky to free up a charge lane for me please? It probably would be best to send him to the dragon, but we are currently blocking each other's charges. If Stinky double moves this turn he'll avoid an AoO though.

Also Kala I recommend using your CLW spell on the Azata now - I don't think we can get you a CLW wand this turn in time for you to use it, so that would be a turn of healing lost. Also, if you use your spell you will have a move action free to draw a CLW potion, and be able to administer that next round. This assumes you are able to 5' step inside the circle.

if Stinky moves out of the way:
Sleeping Sword takes the opportunity to dash to the Azata circle, and brings his skymetal sword down on the metal runes of the circle that imprisons the azata.
charge the circle, inspired: 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 6 + 1 + 2 = 13damage, two hands: 1d8 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 4 + 1 = 13

If for any reason Stinky does not leave a charge lane, I'll probably just double move next to the circle - but I'll do that on the map if and when needed.

Why, Sleeping, I thought you'd never ask! To be truthful, though, i had been contemplating having angela do something stupid (i.e. provoke) but looking at that damage roll I'm very glad she didn't

Anglea gives a nod at Lynn for her sacrifice, not sure if she'd ever be able to do that herself. But giving how Sleeping had been eyeing dashing off to the circle, that was probably the best course of action.

Instead the little one, reaches down and takes the tanglefoot back of her belt. Removing the strip of metal that had been keeping the chemicals from mixing, she shakes the bag for the precise 3 seconds that is recommended and then takes aim and stops for a second taking the time to properly calculate the trajectory and angles for a proper toss. "Sticky mess in the hole!" The little one then backs up a step to hopefully avoid getting chomped to bits.

Flinging the bag, with inspiration (costs 2 points): 1d20 + 4 + 1d6 ⇒ (11) + 4 + (6) = 21

The bag of goo wobbles and jiggles in an unceremonious near-arc through the air and explodes all over the undead beast. It roars.

Plagued with indecision about which action is most imperative, Kala watches in horror as the dragon wreaks havoc on her teammates. In a flash, her decision is made. Here goes nothing! Pointing at the monster behind them, Kala commands her wolverine: "Stinky, attack!"

She then takes a deep breath, steeling herself, and attempts to step through the circle to crouch beside the azata.

If Kala can move adjacent to the azata:
Kala will cast Cure Light Wounds and draw a potion of CLW from her pack. CLW: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Lynn:
The dragon is a undead fast zombie. That is, a fleshy mindless undead. Zombies are very tough to put down. Most zombies are slow and have to be hacked to bits. Fast zombies while still pretty tough are also incredibly fast and agile. And can take a number of attacks on a full attack action. However they are not as resistant to non-slashing weapons as typical zombies.

Rhinshin misses the monster as it thrashes at the goo entangling it.

GM:
"Fighting off death' is 'alive with 4 or more hp'; is the azata now conscious? It looks like Kala hasn't rolled healing for the CLW potion she's administered this round. Also, Rhinshin missed but the dragon might still take 1hp splash damage I think? Every little helps!

Sleeping Sword:
More like the azata has more than 4 hp left before actual "death", but may or may not be into positive integers yet. I wish the spell was worded more betterish. And why is it that every rule in this game require a law degree to figure out? What do you even call negative hit points--those point things beneath 0 hp? Miss points? End GM rant. ;p

Ahh, I didn't get anything posted earlier blah!

Not entirely sure what to de doing right at the moment, Angela hems and haws at the prospect of going for Sleeping's bag of goodies... but decides on not risking a love bite from the maggoty monstrosity. she instead reaches for her belt and pulls out a flask filled with a sickly green color. She reaches back and lets the object fly, hoping it will smash against the undead thing and burn away some of it's flesh. She then glances back at the group around the Azata. "Uhhh, doe you guys want some more healing? Otherwise peppering it with crossbow bolts is about all I've got!"

Angela's acid flask just hits the entangled dragon. It sizzles on its cheek.

After Kala gives her the potion the woman begins to stir. She looks up into Kala's and Sleeping Sword's faces and speaks and the sound is like the memory of a pleasant springtime song from each individual's past.

"The circle... imprisons me, but hedges out the undead...."

"ILLVATER, KILL THEM ALL!!"

Illvater strikes at the small furry thing blocking its way.

Rhinshin, I think Holy Water is 2d4 damage (or 1 splash damage) against undead.

Sleeping Sword hears Stinky's fate and grimaces. "Kala, you have done good here. Go to your friend now. Save him or avenge him."

"The Azata awakens! Her circle is a refuge against undead - but I must break it to free her..."

If that breaks the circle, Sleeping Sword steps back, to bar the dragon's way.

"If you have any power left, azata, use it now! but do not employ positive energy on me, for I am cursed."

@TWMIGM: By my calculations, Stinky should be at -1 due to rage, and -7 hp once rage ends, not -26. He only has 25 hp when raging at full health, and 19 when not raging. Did I miss something? If not, then Stinky is definitely permanently dead.

At the azata's words, Kala has a flash of inspiration. "Wait, Sleeping! We could all get into the circ--" Then, at the edge of her vision, she seen Illvater bite down, hearing a sickening crunch and Almaas cry out her wolverine's name. A shocked gasp escapes her, followed swiftly by an anguished scream: "Stiiiiiinkyyyyyyyy!"

Dropping the potion of Cure Light Wounds which she was holding an inch or two off the floor, she springs up in a blind rage, hurtling towards the monstrosity that crunched her smelly wolverine savior. "Yaaaaahhhh!!!

She charges straight up to Illvater, skids to a stop, and screams a challenge, then immediately questions the wisdom of that decision. With a growl of frustration on top of all her other emotions, she raises her shield and glances at the mangled body of Stinky as she shouts to everyone else: "Get to the circle! Run! Now! It'll protect you!"

Double move to run straight at Illvater, provoking an AOO. Run while you can, guys. Worst case scenario, we bring the dragon to the azata so she doesn't waste a round moving.
