Augier attacks with his huge greatsword!

Greatsword: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 193d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 4, 3) + 6 = 17

Tartarus uses lets her companions get some attention, before she tries to sneak her way to the gate with a discreet teleport to the top of the gate under the gatehouse, where she then examines how the gate opens and unlocks.

Cast Spell, rsult is CL, 1 or more is success: 1d20 + 6 - 15 ⇒ (14) + 6 - 15 = 5
Sneak to gate: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (17) + 12 = 29

Round 1

Igor does nothing, not wanting to give away the ruse quite yet.

Dahlia frowns and readies to bite at anything that gets close to her with a snake.

Reginald uses almost the last reserve of his magic to enlarge Mr. Unclean.

The three guards pull bows and fire at the monsters assembled before them.

GM Rolls:

1=Aggghhh, 2=Tartarus, 3=Mei, 4=Dahlia, 5=Reginald, 6=Igor
1d6 ⇒ 3
1d6 ⇒ 4
1d6 ⇒ 2

Attack vs Mei: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Attack vs Dahlia: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15

Attack vs Tartarus: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

All three arrows miss their intended targets.

Augier attacks with his huge greatsword! He completely slices one of the guards in two.

Mei yanks the rope off Dahlia and drops it drawing her two kukris and looking for a guard to charge. There are two who are possible options.

Tartarus lets her companions get some attention, before she tries to sneak her way to the gate with a discreet teleport to the top of the gate under the gatehouse, where she then examines how the gate opens and unlocks. She determines that the gate locks with a standard key, but it appears that the Warden did not have the keys on him. They must be on the Sergeant. Tartarus, you'll need to expend an extra move action to get to the door, as they are outside of close range, unless you expend a spell point to up the range to Medium.

GM Rolls:

Perception 1: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Perception 2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
Perception 3: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25

Dog 2 Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Dog 3 Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12

Dog 1 Trip: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
[/dice]

The dogs nip at the heels and ankles of the giant Orc before them, not sniffing out the living tarball. One sinks his teeth into Aggghhh's ankle and tries to pull him down, but is unable to do so. Aggghhh, take 7 damage.

I'll spend the point. Puts me behind the ground guys and under cover from those above.

I take it, this means the gate swings rather than raises? So where are the hinges, and what kind are they? Any mechanism for those above to control the gate?

Barb5 HP56/56 F6R4W3 AC19T13FF16 Per+7

Grind your bones to make my bread!

It isn't a gate, it's a pair of steel-reinforced wooden doors. There is no mechanism to control the gates from inside the gatehouse. Where did you teleport precisely? Did you teleport to the second floor of the gatehouse?

Male Human High Priest of Asmodeus

You feel like something else is watching you but nothing is there

Guess I missed something. I thought this was the front gate, the one with freedom on the other side. Normally, that'd be a gate.

Where she teleported is the corner where the wall meets the ceiling. She has a climb speed, so she can stick there easily enough unless the walls are smooth as glass (and she'd likely still be able to stick using suction).

Nope. This is the gatehouse to the keep. On the other side of the gatehouse is a switchback road to a causeway that connects to the mainland, because Branderscar is on an island. At the end of that hallway is a guard post with a portcullis that lowers and allows for you to get to freedom. This is just a better defensive position for the guards. I need to know if you teleported inside or if you're clinging to the wall outside. There is no corner where the wall meets the ceiling, unless you teleport to the other side of the doors, in which case I'll describe what you see.

So the wall just smoothly rises up and ends with no overhang or crenellations? No alcove for the door either? This is a really weird castle, but I can deal with it. The top of door is where she teleports to, right above the hinges on one side of the door.

The wall is specifically designed not to be climbable without a rope. The double doors are only 15 feet high - the gatehouse is 30 feet high. The crenelations are at the top of the gatehouse. There is another, more normal sized door. While there is a small alcove where the stones frame out the door, it's too small for you to cling there.

Round 2

Grimacing, Igor glances to Reginald and whispers, "I think I'll need to enter the fray. Drop the rope and I'll make it look like I escaped to get into an advantageous position."

Dahlia shoots at a guard.

Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

She misses.

Reginald moves up dropping the act entirely and moves behind Aaagghhh, he tosses a bit of blood on him and finishes a small arcane incantation.
"Dev irisiv."

Reginald, don't forget the Warden's scrolls.

Igoroskandrallanotly, the rope dropped, moves in a circle towards the guards attempting to get behind them.

Tartarus examines the hinges, and either tries to pull the pins, or if sje can't, she try to blast one to free the pin.

Tartarus, either give me a Disable Device check or an Attack on the hinge.

Disable device normally requires training, but pullin a pin is way simpler than what is normally done with it so I included it anyway despite being untrained. I also included the attack just in case pulling pins somehow requires training.

Disable device: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15

cast: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Attack, dmg min 3: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 251d6 ⇒ 3

Perhaps Strength would have been a better choice than Disable Device, I think. Still, I'm gonna use the attack rolls.

Round 2

Tartarus examines the hinges, and either tries to pull the pins, or if she can't, she try to blast one to free the pin. She can't pull the pin, but she blows the first hinge right off the door, causing it to sag slightly.

Agghh hacks again. This time, the massive sword doesn't finish the guard off, but his arm hangs limply at his side.

Mei charges the guards, finishing off the one Agghh injured with her kukri.

Aaaggghhh's swipe just barely goes over the fleeing dog's head, and Mei's kukri bites hard into the dog, heavily wounding it as it flees.

Round 3

Igoroskandrallanotly, seeing what Tartarus is up to, cautiously evades the dog and moves to help. Withdraw action.

Dahlia uses a swift action and an arcane pool point to enchant her bow to +1 and shoots at the dog attacking the "warden." She finishes the dog off.

I think the dog would since you're using an unarmed strike to do so, but I'm gonna go with no. This escape is hard enough without it.

Reginald takes a step back from the dogs, and tries to trip one near him. Grabbing a leg, he throws it onto the ground.

GM Rolls:
