Igoroskandrallanotly - “Igor” |

Can I close the door since the cook can't act?
Igoroskandrallanotly sighs, and lashes out with a claw at one of the servants as they run by.

Reginald Oswell |

AoO: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Reginald lashes out again as a guard trips in front of him before moving out to follow the guard that grabbed the torch.
salutations my good man, it seems that things have taken quite a sour turn for you. Well, maybe you should have been more civil earlier.
And takes another swing at the man.

Igoroskandrallanotly - “Igor” |

The servants were gone - there was no hope of catching them without exposing themselves. The daylight was also problematic - that vampire would have to be carried in a box or something. Still, the cook was still here. Time to keep the help from escaping. Igoroskandrallanotly again attempted to close the door.
Strength: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Oh my gosh, really? Ugh.

Fiaincosranboladhrianoir |

Looks like a miss to me.
The Hound lunges and swipes at the guard at the door, summoning all his might to the fore.

If the first hit kills the guard, Fiain saunters over to menace the cook with Igor.

Kahmunash |

Kahmunash mutters a curse under his breath about cowardly humans, and moves into the (presumably still open) doorway, trying to see if he can spot the remaining servant (assuming that Igor's AoO above stopped one), and stares at him/her and casts Daze. DC 16 Will Save at a -2, again.
"Please deal with the cook immediately, ladies and gentlemen, I cannot slow his mind to a standstill again, but I just might be able to contain our runaway if no one else is allowed to leave out of the door."

Cardinal A. Thorn |

More of the monsters enter the room and attack the guards blind in the dark, screams getting cut short, blood spurts staining the walls and floor. Not a soul remains alive besides the cook, cowering after his escape has been cut off.
Combat over.
The kitchen and it's pantry hold a couple weeks of food supplies and cooking tools for the prison. The large cauldron in the lit fireplace has boiling hot soup in it. The guards have only their clothes and personal keys on their person.

Igoroskandrallanotly - “Igor” |

Igoroskandrallanotly approaches the cook, looking at him with its head tilted to one side, before saying, "First of all, I'd like to apologize for this situation. We've been rather poorly treated, and needed to let off a little steam. Now, you are not a guard, nor have you been a combatant in any way. Despite my appearance, I am not one who kills indiscriminately. If someone must die, then so be it, but I don't kill randomly or without cause.
"I propose an agreement. I will ask you some questions about Branderscar and the people in it. You will answer my questions truthfully and honestly. Then, we will leave you tied up here with some papers you are to give to the soldiers who free you. Since we were to be executed in sham combats in a days' time, and there are regular rotations from Varyston, I'm sure there are plenty of them on the way. What you tell them about us is irrelevant. The point is, you will live and be unharmed...well, physically." The cook will likely be traumatized by this event for the rest of his life, the doppelganger knows, but he wasn't injured in any way.
"If you are not truthful, however..." Igoroskandrallanotly trailed off, fixing the cook with a stare.
Intimidate: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
"Now, if you agree, my first question is this: where can we find Warden Matthias Richter and the good Sergeant Tomas Blackerly?"

Reginald Oswell |

Reginald moves and looks over the cauldron on the fire
this looks quite tasty. Or, it could be used as a weapon. I doubt that these guards would enjoy having its contents doused over them. Are we to clear out the rest of the guards in the interior here? I think it would be better to keep our rear guarded with that action. Also, Is anyone hiding the bodies as we go?

Eat-in-Shadow |

Dear me, I miss one day and suddenly everyone is dead.
Eat-in-Shadow, satisfied with the onslaught facilitated by his darkness, shows that his name is not just for show chewing on a severed thigh.
"No hiding the bodies. Those who come shall wade around in rotting bodies, and fear that we are hiding in every corner. Fear will wash over them, and the echo of the slaughter will haunt their nightmares. Unless it is set on fire, of course."

Cardinal A. Thorn |

The cook cowers in the corner, backed up against a cupboard. "I'll tell you everything I know!" He begs to be allowed to live.
"Right now the Sergeant is probably in the gate house, signing in the next guard rotation. I heard they arrived early in preparation for... well... getting you all ready to go soon."
"The Warden could be in the gatehouse too, or he could be in the main tower where his quarters and laboratory are."
The cauldron seems quite heavy and hot, difficult and slow to move if you wish to use it offensively.

Igoroskandrallanotly - “Igor” |

”Excellent, thank you. Now, are there any special passwords we might need if one or two of us wanted to slip out of here and into the gate house? Finally, who holds the keys to the armory?”

Kahmunash |

Kahmunash will let Igor do the interrogating, and will address the remaining monsters in the mess hall.
"Well, lets hope we can get a move on. I seriously doubt those two are going to keep their mouths shut, so we'll need to find our way out, quickly. Is it worth hitting the remaining rooms on this floor now?"

Cardinal A. Thorn |

"No passwords, the warden issued us each non-military personnel passes. I have mine right here," he digs out a folded up rectangle sheet of paper. On it is the authority to enter and work in the prison as a non-military person, specifically as a cook. "Warden Mathias Richter" and the warden's signature validates it. "The servants have theirs too, and the night workers. Even if you show that at the gate, they'll see you're not me." Asked about the armory he replies, "I don't know. I'm not allowed in the armoury. I only go to the storage room when necessary and it doesn't have a lock. Perhaps the armoury doesn't either. 4 of the men finished eating earlier and went to get ready for their next shift. They might still be in the armoury right now."

Eat-in-Shadow |

Eat-in-Shadow hangs upside-down on a chair's back, killing time while the others trade words.
"Same plan as before? I blind them, then everyone goes wild?"

Igoroskandrallanotly - “Igor” |

Igoroskandrallanotly nods, then says, "Thank you for your cooperation. Now, I'm going to tie you up and gag you. Please don't struggle. I will leave you here with these papers," here, the doppelganger pulls out his papers on the Warden and Sergeant's corruption, as well as takes from Dahlia hers, "which you will give to the soldiers who eventually free you. Not to the Sergeant or the Warden, though, if they survive. Understood?"
Igoroskandrallanotly will then bind and gag the cook, leaving the papers tucked into his apron. He will then move a bench in front of the kitchen door to make sure the guards don't try to flank them.
DC to escape the bonds of Igoroskandrallanotly tying the cook up is 23. Barricading the kitchen door to prevent guards from coming in that way.
That done, he takes a moment to grab some bread, cheese, and dried meat, and makes his way to the armory, eating his snack. Unlike some of the others, he did not subsist on human flesh unless given absolutely no choice.

Dahlia the Blinded |

" I'd advise that we keep a copy of these papers. Even a handful of them will be enough to condemn the men, and you never know when they'll come in handy to us. And as stout as that bench is, they'll be able to get through it with effort. Whereas a raging oil fire will be both a distraction and a deterrent."

Cardinal A. Thorn |

Dahlia finds several pounds of lard grease and also a jar of olive oil.
"They escaped. Now we've lost the element of surprise. Splitting up so that they have to split their focus is best." The Drow speaks, several other monsters nod.
As you head to the armoury and get close to the door, it is closed but not locked. Listening closely you can hear voices but not make out what they're saying, until one voice suddenly is closer, directly behind the door. "C'mon get your asses out here before we get docked pay for being late." He opens the door and is greeted for an instant by a dark face before the darkness rushes into the room, blinding him. "What is that darkness? Where did you go?" The others ask, they didn't catch the glimpse of the terrifying face of Eat-in-shadow before the darkness flooded in. The man at the door screams and draws his sword, having triggered the fight response instead of flight, swings blindly at the door and takes a chunk out of the door frame.
1d8 ⇒ 6 attacks right of door.

"We don't have time to make a copy of the documents. Best we make sure they are found. We don't have time to hunt down the Warden, now, so we need to ensure he is found guilty of his crimes. I agree we should start a fire, though. Come along, cook, we'll move you someplace away from the fire so you don't burn."
Igoroskandrallanotly then drags the bound cook out of the kitchen and into the mess hall, then decides that the storage room should be safe enough for him, and drags him in that direction.

Storage Room
Igor takes the Cook to the storage room on the opposite side of the hall from the armoury. Supplies for the prison are stored here and it is well stocked. It's shelves are full and there are also crates full of supplies. There is enough to supply the prison for a month or more. There are torches, lanterns, 50ft. lengths of rope, spare guard uniforms, signal horns, chains, manacles
Hanging in a special rack is also to be found several brands with the runic F symbol and a specially made brazier for heating them. These brands are for the criminals that normally are sentenced here, marked with the rune as 'Forsaken'.
Armoury
The monsters move in, Aggghhh, Mei and Eat-in-shadow cut down the first guard screaming till he lands on the floor with a clang of armour. Richter advances on the next guard but missed and Tartarus slips along the floor unseen until it is at the opposite side of the room behind the 3rd guard. "The monsters have escaped!" The 2 guards and a third one from the second room of the armoury join the fight against those they can see.

"Ah, excellent, chains, rope, and manacles." The doppelganger uses the manacles and chains to secure the cook, then says, "You should be safe here, since there is nothing of interest or use to us." They light a lantern so the cook isn't trapped in the dark, then leave and close the door behind them.
Igoroskandrallanotly will join the others in the armory next round.
