I’ll be on roll20 today. If I’m quiet though, then work has had the audacity to interrupt my gaming, and I’ll respond ASAP.

Shin "Horizon" Akebono |

Gallowglass, sent you a PM. Hope you got it.

Praetoria |

Ok. I’m on roll20 also.
Edit: Replied to you Scorch.

Praetoria |

Ditto

Praetoria |

Dit-trio?

Psyche. |

Ah ha ha - oh man, Kylie is Freaking Out
Waiting on a Scorch reply before I careen further in that scene though :-p

Psyche. |

Hey Scorch, if you're up and see this - I think Kayla's GET OUT OF MY HEAD was actually audible, and I kind of assume Mattie would know that that had to do with Kylie.
Could that conversation happen before the plane?

Im starting to think Kylee put the mind whammy on Shin and Mattie.

Psyche. |

Hurray! Two of Kylie's greatest fears!
1) People thinking she's whammying people into liking her.
2) Finding out she accidentally whammies people into liking her.

Psyche. |

Didn't have a narrative post to express this that didn't feel silly, but I'm here. Kylie's just trying to give Mattie and Shin space to talk.

Praetoria |

Back from weekend get away. Lurking on Roll20.
Side Note, I need your guys input (per the game mechanics) on something related to my Playbook, seeing as Stalwart told me this vacation would count as "time passing."
"Whenever time passes, roll + Savior to see how the members of your legacy feel or react to your most recent exploits. Before rolling, ask the other players to answer these questions about your performance. Take -1 to the roll for each “no” answer:
- have you been upholding the traditions of your legacy?
- have you maintained the image of your legacy?
- have you made the other members of your legacy proud?
On a hit, one of them offers you meaningful encouragement, an opportunity, or an advantage. On a 7-9, another is upset with your most recent actions, and will make their displeasure known. On a miss, something you did stirred up the hornet’s nest—expect several members of your legacy to meddle with your life."

Psyche. |

My take is
Traditions: Yes - spending time at the family compound, looking into the regalia et al., Praetoria's certainly involved in the traditions.
The Image: While we've been away, yes. If this is meant to encompass the tabloid storm then... no.
Have you made other members of the legacy proud: Hard no.

Shin "Horizon" Akebono |

Traditions, yes. Image, yes. Other members of her legacy, no.

Praetoria |

Bit of world building elaboration:
The Taylors are kinda like the Fantastic Four. They are a stand-alone team with connections to the government, as well as several superhero teams while not officially being a part of any of them.
Collectively, the Taylors are referred to as "The Guardians." However, they hardly ever do things as an actual team. It's happened on occasion, but mostly they are various solo-entities. They do come together though to make decisions as a family from time to time. There are several members of the family, a few of which I have presented in game just now.

Psyche. |

I think it's assessed by the team's overall opinion rather than per teammate.

Praetoria |

Savior, Time Pass Legacy: 2d6 + 3 - 5 ⇒ (6, 5) + 3 - 5 = 9
Still need Holly’s answers, but 0-2 No’s have no change on the result, and 3 No’s equals a miss.
Stalwart: aaaaand I think I’ve at least introduced the whole Taylor clan now. So, I now step away from the Praetoria soap box and slide ever not so quietly into the background. Hahaha

I/O-HL3 "Isaiah" |

...Did you know that -3 is the maximum penalty you can have on a roll? you should be rolling 2d6+3-3, not 2d6+3-5. At least if I'm reading things correctly. Or it might be that +3-5=-2, which could be another way of reading it.

Ness "Gallowglass" MacDonnell |

Are you sure you're reading that right? I thought you'd get a consensus (or majority vote) on subtracting 0 to 3 from your roll. In that case, you got a 10+ (even if we were thumbs down to all three Qs).
But I guess Stalwart can clarify.

Praetoria |

*shrug*
I’ll leave it to the man behind the DM screen. His ruling. I wasn’t sure how it worked.

Scorch - AKA "Mattie" Noble |

I'm Australian so uncle Mike is bugging me,... G'day mate,.. Sheila,.. . No-one (well, not many people) talk like that! Please don't use 'throw a shrimp on the barbie' or 'cobber'. :)

Praetoria |

Hahaha, I’m well aware they don’t talk like that, but I’m going with comic book tropes, and they tend to over exaggerate some things to emphasize where people are from. Example: Gambit.

Holly Elton |

I... have to imagine Stalwart meant for us to come to a consensus, not take -1 for every no given...

Sigh,... I know, but we're not all Crocodile Dundee... It'd be like me assuming all Americans are like Donald Trump.

Praetoria |

We aren’t? You mean I didn’t have to assume the traits of our elected overlord?
*awkwardly releases random woman’s genitalia*
Lol! But in all seriousness, yeah, I’m planning on him only dropping those oddball over the top stereotypical comments from time to time. He’s an American after all. But he also is a bit over the top himself, so he plays up his living in Australia in absurd ways.
Personally: I’ve always wanted to visit Australia. But I also don’t think I’d survive five minutes off the plane before I got bit by something and die.
;-P
Side Note Edit: I’m lurking on Roll20 if anyone wants to join me.

Praetoria |

Also: I wanted to flesh out the active Taylor Legacy team, and see who I enjoyed having around and who I didn’t. So far, I am getting a bit annoyed with Mike anyway, even before you had said anything. He will likely be returning to the Outback sooner than later. Hahaha

Scorch - AKA "Mattie" Noble |

Lol. At least you didn't name him Bruce... Much scarier things in the states than we have here. Bears, wolves, mountain lions etc,... We've just got lots of venomous snakes and spiders - and they tend to run away from you rather than tear your head off (although up north we do have crocodiles, and they're as scary as f~#~.)

Praetoria |

Hahaha
Actually, I’m horrible at coming up with “normal” names for characters and am decentish at fantasy names. So when I need a normal name, I often use names of people I know in life.
Though their personalities don’t match their characters I portray them as in the least. Actually in most cases I play them as polar opposites to their actual personalities.
Mike - former coworker
Frederick - former classmate
Angela - former coworker
Sarah - wife’s cousin
Shane - cousin’s friend
Kayla - former coworker
Augustus - an outlier of the bunch. Randomly went with that.

DM Stalwart |

Hey, everyone! How was the vacation???
Okay, looks like there's an adjudication I need to handle. Regarding the Legacy's Time Passing move: Since it doesn't talk about Yes answers offsetting the Nos, I'm going to say it's just a max of a -1 per question asked. Since the consensus is two Yes and one No, there's a -1 to the roll -- meaning Praetoria got a full success.
(Scorch, I feel your pain, though obviously not as sharply as you would. I've studied abroad in Australia -- University of Queensland, Brisbane -- and am well aware that the Aussie stereotype that many Americans have is pretty grating.)
IMPORTANT UPDATE REGARDING HOLIDAYS
As the US holiday of Thanksgiving is coming up this week, I will be doing a lot of traveling and visiting with family. As such, I will not be able to get anything started regarding a new chapter until probably this time next week. I'll do what I can to have NPCs such as mentors interact with you all as you return to Halcyon City, but otherwise feel free to take advantage of a few more days of downtime now that you're back from your teambuilding vacation(s).

DM Stalwart |

Eh, there's also rock fish, box jellyfish, great white sharks, and even kangaroos that can mess you up. Don't think I didn't notice those jugs of vinegar set up around the beaches... Not ominous at all. ;-)

Praetoria |

Well, Stalwart: feel free to explain how the full success (woot!) works for me, and do a RP scene about it when you are free and able. In the meantime I’ll be around and waiting patiently. ;-P

There are great whites in the USA too aren't there? Anyway, sharks are (on the whole) quite nice (I used to work in an Aquarium and swam with and fed quite a few types, though not great whites) - Crocs are waaaaay scarier. But yeah, the jellyfish are pretty scary too up north.

Praetoria |

Y’all are free to stop making this Zoology student jealous anytime now, kthnx

Scorch - AKA "Mattie" Noble |

Already have influence over Rory, so I will shift his mundane up and his danger down.
Edit: Working at the aquarium i got to go behind the scenes at a couple of zoos and I've just finished my PhD in zoology - i would provide a list of animals that i've been lucky enough to interact with, but it's too long... Highlights are: Platypus, echidnas, sharks, stingrays, red pandas, river otters, seals, tigers, quolls, owls, eagles, (baby) crocs and Tassie devils, and i spend much of my time catching and looking after lizards..... :)

Psyche. |

First: Suuuper jealous of the animals being listed
Second: I wouldn't hate a light week - I'll be slammed with work and family, and family, and family.

The Maw - Alien Weaponry (Swords and Blasters), Density Control (super strong alien muscles) - The Maw, his alien name unpronounceable, actually started out as a villain. He was a scout of an alien race of conquerors known as the Khi’thyr. They are a four-armed race (basically blend Goro from Mortal Kombat with an Elite from Halo). Very strong, very combat oriented. He was a marauding killer for quite some time until going toe-to-toe with the Praetorian, who took him down. While in the Freezer, and when his people came to attack, The Maw for some reason convinced his people to call off the attack and move on elsewhere. Since then, he has completed the reform protocols and become an adopted member of the Taylors, and spends most of his time abroad with Legionnaire.
Frederick Taylor “Beastmode” - Legionnaire’s son, Kayla’s older cousin. Has an intense rivalry with Kayla. Rough around the edges, and often causes lots of collateral damage. Very strong and tough, like a mini-Hulk.
Angela Taylor “Angel” - Angel’s Wings - Kayla’s Aunt. Second oldest sibling to Praetorian. She is the biggest celebrity personality of the remaining Taylors now that Praetorian is MIA.
Sarah Taylor - Powers Unknown - Angela’s daughter.
Shane Taylor - Kayla’s younger brother - no known powers at this time.
