Kendren Nollt |

Kendren keeps going with the detection of evil, asking the person, "Who are you, and what is your purpose in this place?"
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31
Maintaining the second round of detect evil.

Robed evil looking types.
Damnit, my post got eaten.
Lady with the bloody sword seems to finally notice you standing there and exclaims
“You killed them! They died by my blade, but you killed them! Lord Staunton will stay his hand if I give him your heads!”
Then she charges Kendren (I'm giving her a surprise round because she won't live long enough to act otherwise).
power attack, charge, rage
to hit: 1d20 ⇒ 8 damage: 2d4 + 19 ⇒ (3, 4) + 19 = 26 hit

Kendren Nollt |

Kendren was quite annoyed at being attacked for apparently no reason. Still, since she said she worked for Staunton, he figured that would give him carte blanche to finish her off.
Initiative: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Maybe she'll last longer than you thought. HP 68/94.

Nuala Sataleeti |

Init: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21

Initiative: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 8 + 2 = 25
How long has it been since we came back in the castle the second time? Just wondering if I still have my extended (2x) minute per level buff. I was assuming I had it until we rested at the top of the stairs to try and get Kendren in some new armor and for Tinnath to brew.

Tinnath Lyhorne |

Initiative: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31
Move action to get into the room through the other door and flank the woman, swift action to study, standard action to attack, free action to speak.

I 5' step over so I can see the enemy after hearing her speak and then attack.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8 I probably think she is trying to kill us and cut off our heads.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27
Kendren picks up that, should she survive, she might reconsider her actions with Staunton dead. Still, at the moment, she was a threat, and clearly incoherent. Kendren decides to repay her the agression, losing himself in his Bloodrage.
Attacks count as magic and cold iron for DR purposes. Bloodrage and Mythic Power Attack in use.

Looking over at Tinnath.
"What's going on, she was trying to cut off our heads. She looks seriously evil."

Kendren Nollt |

Breathing only slightly heavier than normal, Kendren responds, "When she heard Staunton was dead, it looked like there was a part of her that would have been willing to consider a different action than trying to murder us. However, at that point, she was so consumed by bloodlust, it was impossible for her to stop. By knocking her unconscious, we've done just that - gotten her to stop. Now, I suggest we take her equipment, tie her up, and maybe leave her under guard with the army outside. Then, we'll take an hour for Tinnath to brew up a new mutagen, I'll change into the Armor of the Pious, and we'll tackle the rest of the basement."

Tinnath Lyhorne |

"Yeah, she might still be evil, but she did just kill a whole boat-load of cultists for us and seemed motivated by fear of that Dwarf we killed by the stairs. There was enough hesitation in her attack that I figured she might just be in the wrong place at the wrong time. We might need to kill her later, but I figured we could give her a chance to talk, and worse case scenario maybe get some extra intelligence out if it. Best case scenario we're not killing off potential allies.
"Now before we rest up and get ready for downstairs I think that we've still got 9B to take a look at. Why not tie this one up, check up on the parapets (or whatever the space is) and then follow through with Kendren's plan!"

Tinnath Lyhorne |

"Right, I think that's the full floor from what you said you'd already seen. Any reason not to drop this woman off at the army camp and spend an hour getting ready to head to the basement?"

Kendren Nollt |

In camp, Kendren changes into the armor of the pious. It will take time to attune, but once it does, he'll be much more powerful.
No change yet, since the armor requires a 24 hour attunement period. It is mithral, though, so it's lighter, although it doesn't affect my speed.

Kendren Nollt |

Take 1 hour to brew a new mutagen for Tinnath, and change into any of the armor we found.

Nuala Sataleeti |

She recasts her Heightened Awareness before heading back in..
"Let's get back in there and find that sword.."

Tinnath Lyhorne |

Tinnath brews a fresh new mutagen. Just the sort of pick-me-up one needs for a lower level dungeon crawl. After draining that, she quickly prepares another couple extracts of heroism and alchemical allocation and drinks as well as her potion of bark skin which she spits out again afterwards.
"OK, I'm fresh and ready to go! Shall we go kick down some dungeon doors? Anything I need to know about your last trip down the stairs?"

Still a little grossed out about the spitting the potions back in the bottle and then doing it over and over again. I mumble something about backwash.
"...backwash. Ya, lets go."
Really hoping I'm never going to need to share one of those potions.

Tinnath Lyhorne |

Okay! Let's head down to G1 and see if anything's there to deal with!

Kendren casts see invisibility, 90 mins, on himself as they head down.

Tinnath Lyhorne |

OK then, let's head to G1A, G1B, G2, G4, G4A, G3, G5 in that order until we get to a place that the group hasn't explored yet. If nothing's changed since you were here last we can just stick our heads in, but when we hit something new (unexplored or changed,) we'll stop and adventure!
Barkskin 120 minutes
Mutagen 90 minutes
Heroism 90 minutes

Kendren Nollt |

They found me in the hallway along G2. I think they were adhering to the right-hand rule. Is that right? I know we made it G5 and surroundings. I don't know if they did G3 or G4.

drbuzzard |

Nothing much has changed since you were down here.
G4 is new to the party.
Two large prison cells flank this large interrogation chamber. The entryway to each cell is lined with multiple layers of arcane sigils scribed into the floor, lintels, and even the barred door. While the symbols around the western cell door glow with red light, those to the east do not and its prison door hangs open.

Tinnath Lyhorne |

Tinnath will take a look at the runes to see if she can figure out what they do.
Spellcraft?: 1d20 + 15 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 15 + (4) = 22

![]() |

I look dumbly at the runes, not having a clue what those are.
Spellcraft: 10 = 10
"It's red, it means don't touch."
I stand a little farther back.

Kendren Nollt |

Kendren also looks at the runes, and says, "Given the cells here, I suspect they are some kind of imprisonment rune. The red ones are active, and the other not."
Kendren is quite pleased he was able to reason this out - his instructors had always said he was hopeless when it came to magic, but surely this was a good deduction.

Tinnath Lyhorne |

Tinnath nods at the comments. "Good work team! We've got this case in the bag now!"
Would the runes count as a magical trap we could try to disarm?
After examining the active runes to the west for a bit, but before approaching them too closely, Tinnath wanders over to the east and peers through the open doorway into the cell on that side to see if there's anything of interest.

The walls of her cell have been decorated with hundreds upon hundreds of butterfly images, scratched into the stone by claws. While the unhallow effect persists here, the Abyssal infusion and whispers of madness do not. The entire cell radiates strong chaos and good—auras that increase to overwhelming on the northern wall, where a short prayer has been scratched into the wall.
HEAR MY PRAYER, LADY LUCK. FOR IT IS LUCK I NEED IN ESCAPING THIS CELL. NOT JUST THE LIFE BEHIND THESE BARS, BUT AN ETERNITY SPENT SHACKLED TO THE ABYSS ITSELF. IF YOU TRULY ARE THE TENDER OF DREAMS, THEN TENDER UNTO ME A NEW EXISTENCE. LET ME SING THE SONG OF THE SPHERES, SEE THE STARS WITH NEW EYES, AND ESCAPE THE PIT INTO WHICH MY SOUL WAS CAST. BRING ME GOOD FORTUNE, MY LADY. BRING ME A NEW SPIRIT MADE CLEAN. AND
I WILL FOREVER BE YOURS, IN LIFE, AND IN FAITH. I AM READY. FINALLY READY.
Mama experiences an overwhelming sense of deja vu in this chamber, and she knows that the mysterious person who saved her in childhood was the same person who, until recently, spent time in this cell.
If there are any worshipers of Desna, they feel energized in here.
