Tinnath Lyhorne |

Tinnath watches the mysterious stranger teleport away and shakes her head. "Well I'm sure that won't come back to bite us later."
"I think that the attacks were all concentrated on Kendren, so if anyone needs wounds tended it will be him."
Tinnath will open the door to 21 and scan for enemies, and if there are none to be found, will do the same to both the doors to the south.

You check the room that the head peeked out of :
This spacious bedroom is immaculate to the point of spotlessness. The bed sheets are tight against the mattress, and no splinters mar the floor near the well-used sparring dummy in one corner, despite its obvious heavy use. An inkwell, a blotter, and a black quill sit atop an otherwise bare desk, with a three-legged stool pushed out of the way underneath. A single large chest sits at the foot of the bed.
The other two rooms look like this, but without signs of recent occupation.

Kendren Nollt |

"I took several blows." Kendren pants heavily as his rage ends and he feels his wounds.
I have 37 HP, non-raging.

![]() |

I go in the room (F21) and do a quick look around. Checking the chest to see if it has any traps.
Perception (Traps): 1d20 + 17 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 17 + 4 = 26
Checking to see if it is locked, if so:
Disable Device: 1d20 + 28 ⇒ (20) + 28 = 48
Anything useful inside?

Tinnath Lyhorne |

"It's a good thing you're pretty tough, Kendren! Those ones seem to like stabbing. I'll try to keep that in mind."
Tinnath, finding nothing obviously threatening in the side rooms, and knowing that Nuala will take care of Kendren, instead checks for interesting things in the main office area (20.) She searches the Dwarf for items of interest, checks the mahogany desk for traps and then, if none are found, rifles through it, and quickly scans the bookshelves for some light fiction to pass the night (you know, or magic tomes and the like.)
Perception for traps in the desk: 1d20 + 17 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 17 + 4 = 33
"Don't forget to check the writing desk in there Mama, who knows what notes they might leave accidentally!"

drbuzzard |

The chest isn't trapped, and you are able to open it.
The contents of the locked chest consist of treasure Staunton’s gathered over the last year, and include 633 cp, 1,427 sp, 5,786 gp, 376 pp, nine garnets worth 100 gp each, a pearl of power (2nd level), a rod of metal and mineral detection, a scroll of divination, a set of stone-carved dwarven figurines worth 600 gp, an expensive pair of vases worth 250 gp each, a silver coffer worth 350 gp, an elixir of climbing, a potion of neutralize poison, a wand of nondetection (23 charges remaining), a dose of oil of life crafted from a cure serious wounds potion and the quicksilver from a philosopher’s stone. Also there is a journal.

"There looks like a bunch of valuables in this chest. Besides the money, there looks to be some other stuff worth looking at. It might be magical and/or valuable too. We're going to have to pack all this stuff out. Does anyone have a extra dimensional space for storing goodies: bag of holding or handy haversack?"

Tinnath Lyhorne |

"I've got a Handy Haversack, so I can take care of things for now. We'll want a bigger bag of holding long term, but one chest's worth should be no problem. Do we want to take a look at that journal right away (either checking it for traps or casting detect magic first to see if there are explosive runes or the like?)"
Did the dwarf himself really have no gear? Did I just stab a naked man to death again?

Nuala Sataleeti |

Nuala heals Kendren back up before looking over the loots..
Heals: 2d8 + 9 + 12 ⇒ (8, 7) + 9 + 12 = 36
Heals: 2d8 + 9 + 7 ⇒ (2, 4) + 9 + 7 = 22 two 2nd levels and he's back to full.
Nuala will take the pearl if there are no objections, as well as the wand of non-detection and scroll of divination.
"That Oil is ver powerful. It can resurrect a dead person if poured down their throat. I will hold onto it unless someone else want's to."
I assume the belt and ring will be taken by front liner's. She will use the pearl of replace one of the cure spells.

![]() |

"Nuala you should probably hold onto the Potion of Neutralize Poison as well. Looking at this other stuff and what you all have on you, it looks like we can get a couple upgrades and swaps going."
"Nuala: If you take the +4 Con belt, then I can have your old +2 con belt. The other two have dex and str belts."
"Kendren: I think you're the only one that can benefit from that +3 full plate, then we can sell your old +1 later."
"Tinnath: If you take the ring upgrade to +2, then I can have your old +1 ring. You are also the only one that can probably use that glaive if you want it otherwise we sell it off later."
"For myself I can use the buckler if no one objects, but I can also use the hand-me-downs from Nuala's belt and Tinnath's ring."

Nuala Sataleeti |

"i can cast that spell Mama, so it's probably better served to someone that can't. The potion I mean.. I will certainly take the belt if no one wants it."

Tinnath Lyhorne |

"I think that the cold iron probably does me more good than an extra +1 to enhancement in this environment as far as the glaive goes, so I'm inclined to stick with the falcatas that I have now. Either Kendren or I would benefit from the ring, but if he's taking the armor he's already getting a bigger boost, so I'm fine with the distribution you're proposing. I also collect potions as I've got the ability to reuse them, and I don't have a potion of neutralize poison yet, so I wouldn't mind that in my collection."
"Oh, and we should probably read that journal later, and move on for now unless anyone expects it to be vitally important for the rest of the castle here."

Kendren Nollt |

"Thank you for the healing, Nuala. That's excellent plan for the loot distribution, but it will take time for me to remove my current armor and don the new armor, unless we can just gloss over that without losing any buff duration. We may be better off moving on, and I'll switch later."
1d4+1 minutes to take off the current full plate, and 4 minutes to don the new full plate, and it requires help to don properly, so someone helping me can't even halve the time it takes.

Tinnath Lyhorne |

Actually, the glaive wouldn't useful to me even if I wanted the enhancement. It can only transform into two handed medium weapons and I'm really specialized in falcatas. It'll be good to sell later though!
Tinnath takes off her old ring and tosses it to Mama before sliding on the new one. "Yes, this should do nicely. We'll get you in that armor later Kendren, for now let's head to the tower!"
Tinnath will head back to F16 and then up towards F22 unless anyone gives her a reason to do something else. Assuming everyone's following she'll check the door from F16 for traps, and if she doesn't find any will continue up the stairs to the next door and check that for traps as well.

I'm following Tinnath after I took a second to put on my new belt, ring, and buckler.
"What happened to the person that blinked out? Did they teleport or dimensional slide somewhere? We should keep an eye out just in case they sneak up behind us again."
I moved everyone on the map to the door to F22.

Tinnath Lyhorne |

I'm throwing together a loot sheet for treasure that we find (there's a link to it at the end of my stat line that everyone should be able to see.) It's nothing fancy at all, but it's a place to start. I think I can give you permission to edit it if you ask for it. I've also noticed that they quicksilver at the center of a philosopher's stone becomes innate and useless after 24 hours. As none of us have 10 ranks in craft: alchemy and can't use it, I suspect that it's lost to us as a useful item even if it's still potent now.

Tinnath Lyhorne |

Wait, now I see how that treasure should have been parsed. The quicksilver was already used. That makes much more sense. Adjusting the sheet!

Tinnath Lyhorne |

Tinnath does a quick scan of the room to see if anything interesting was left behind and then heads back around and up the stairs to 23.
Perception: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (17) + 17 = 34

Kendren Nollt |

"We keep finding reasons to return to the dungeons. We should be quick about exploring the rest of this area. Let's move on."
We should probably do F8 into F5 next.

Tinnath Lyhorne |

"Well, let's finish this tower while we're here. Up the stairs!"
Let's hit F23 and F24 first, then go back and hit F5 and the like.

Kendren Nollt |

"Yeah, okay, that's reasonable. Let's be quick, though."
Once up there, Kendren looks about. "I imagine some sort of winged monster would lurk up here. Did you fight anything like that while I lay down below?"

Kendren Nollt |

"Mama, here's the efficient quiver - I think you'll make best use of it. For now, I think the rest of it we can stash, apart from the silversheen potion and the two scrolls, which may be useful."

Nuala Sataleeti |

Aww dang.. Ill take that bag of holding with the books.. Just pile all that other stuff in it.

![]() |

"A very good find in this horrible place. Hey Nuala, are those the books I keep hearing about that have the sparklepire and werewolf boys fighting over the angsty teenage girl? What was that called? Twilight Planes or are they the newer series about the angsty girl being tied up? I think that one was Fifty Shades of Planes. Either way I call second on the binge reading after you."
I added the efficient quiver containing two javelins of lightning and 19 +2 magical beast bane arrows to my inventory

Tinnath Lyhorne |

"It's handy when they leave a bag to carry everything in! Now, shall we see if we can squeeze past that rubble and poke our heads up one more floor and be done with this tower?"
Tinnath will try to make her way up to 24 assuming the rubble isn't completely blocking the way through.
I'll add the treasure to the loot sheet.

Unless anyone else wants to take a look we can head back down to entrance to F5 via F4 (I've moved us there on the map.)

The markings on the roof appear to be a ruined summoning circle. Nuala figures out it was probably used by the initial defenders to summon aid from the good aligned planes once upon a time. When Drezen fell, it was marred to ruin it.
F5:
Two rows of stone benches occupy face a raised dais to the north, on which stands a twelve-foot-tall statue of an armored woman with a sword and shield. Faded tapestries hang in tatters to either side, and a larger one on the south wall depicts the armored woman on bended knee before a man wearing green robes. Three smaller, human-sized statues of armored knights stand within small alcoves to the west, each holding a longsword pointing downward.
