After getting bored of this room (F5) which looks the same as the other one across the way, I have a quick peek into the secret room (F6) and see nothing interesting. We head out of the room towards F8 to clear it. Assuming nothing in there, we head towards F9a and I check the other doors that go east towards F3b.
Perception (take 10): 10 + 17 = 27 I notice that the walls and the rooms I just walked around don't match up. There appears to be a discrepancy in the spaces we've explored.
"There is something not right here, I noticed we finished looking in that chapel room and it had a secret room, but then we walked around a much larger space that we didn't see. We should look for any secret doors in the hallway here."
Taking 10 on some more perception checks, I go all around the walls in the hallway and back into the chapel and the secret room checking all along the way.
Do I find anything?

Nuala find a secret door in F6 leading into F7.
A metal rod on which hangs a magnificent banner depicting a sword before a sunburst is raised up in the hands of a statue of an armored woman to the north. Just south of the statue sits a gleaming alabaster altar. Another four statues flank the room, each wearing a real suit of metal armor, while to the south hangs a tattered red and gold tapestry..

Tinnath Lyhorne |

"Seems suspicious. I'd like to take a closer look at the altar and the magic armor, but first let's see if there are any traps I can spot from afar."

Kendren Nollt |

Breathing heavily, Kendren says, "I am fine now, thank you. Your healing has been most appreciated in this endeavor, Nuala."
Armor in the bag of holding, then? It is quite nice for me.

Nuala Sataleeti |

i would imagine most of the short term buffs would be gone by now if you wanna take the time to put that armor on.. The one we just found.. How long has it been since we entered on this run Buzz?

Tinnath Lyhorne |

The biggest bottleneck for buffs for me is my mutagen. I think there are a few more rooms up here. If it's been less than 90 minutes since we hit the dwarf I'd love to finish them up and then take an hour at the top of the stairs before heading down (assuming everyone's willing to wait an hour for me to brew up a new batch of mutagen.) Actually, even if it's been 90 minutes I'd love to finish clearing the last couple rooms here and then have the hour rest before heading down to the lower level if we think we can spare the time.

![]() |

I'm fine with continuing or waiting for an hour. We are still too low for the Mythic Recuperation at this point, but that would come in handy later.

Tinnath Lyhorne |

"Well that was ... sticky. Shall we finish up the mop up of the floor before heading down the stairs?"
Tinnath will head to 9a and poke her head in to see if anyone's about.
I think it's just 9a, 9b and 8 we haven't seen on this floor? Let's get them done and then spend an hour preparing to head down for a delve into the basement! I think that everyone's doing OK for resources so far?

Nuala Sataleeti |

Yea I was talking about the Min/Level spells. Surely it has not been 90 minutes yet. My resources are fine, but I would think kendren would want to put on the Armor of the Pious..

Kendren Nollt |

I do, yes. The minute/level is probably done, though. If we want to take the time to swap it out now, I will.

Tinnath Lyhorne |

I don't know. We've been moving around a lot and have taken the time to loot a couple times and search some more. Those are going to add up over time. Regardless, if Kendren is more comfortable putting on the armor now before we hit rooms 8 and 9 I'm fine with that. Unless there's more than half an hour left on the 90 minute buffs I'd still like to stop and prepare a new mutagen before heading down to the basement.

Kendren Nollt |

Let's hit rooms 8 and 9 to finish up this level. I'll change after that.

I look to see if there are any special arrows in the room.

... 50 +1 arrows, an arrow of human laying, ... a masterwork composite longbow (Str +2), ... a suit of +2 elven chain.
"I can hold onto the arrows and extra bow. Tinnath I'm not sure if you want the elven chain as it slows you down a bit, but it appears to be a bit more robust than what you're wearing."
+2 elven chain is +8 AC (+5 max dex, -1 check penalty, and 20% arcane failure)
I look at the one "special" arrow and wonder how I'm supposed to use it. Do I shoot it towards their groin? It's got the weirdest head shape of any arrow I've ever seen.

Tinnath Lyhorne |

I think it's just +4 max dex unless there's some mechanic I'm missing there, in which case, I'm getting the benefit of that with my mutagen running already (3 AC from current armor + 9 from dex) without the ACP (and I don't really care about arcane spell failure.) I can surpass it with any of a number of dex boosting buffs (cat's grace, reduce person, etc ...) Even if it is supposed to be +5 max dex it'd be obsolete so soon it's not really worth it.
"No, I need to stay light on my feet to get to the enemies more quickly. As light as that is, it'd still slow me down. Let's load the loot in the bag and head for F9a! Mama, if you need some time alone with the new arrow you can probably use the bedchambers near the stairs and can catch up with us when we're getting ready to go down."

Tinnath Lyhorne |

Tinnath nods in appreciation of work well done. "Looks like you've been busy here! Nice work! I don't suppose you've got an airtight reason to be in a castle full of evil on your own?"
Turning her head to the rest of the party she totally fails to be discrete. "Someone should use detect evil right around now."

Kendren Nollt |
