It varies from adventure to adventure but you don't just get that, you have to purchase it with your gold. So when you have enough you may purchase any items on your character sheets without spending PP. Some items state they are a one time buy so you have to cross it off sheet if you buy one of those.
If you want to buy something that isn't on a chronicle sheet, you have to spend PP for it and have to have enough fame to purchase within certain price tiers. So sheets are a nice way to get stuff.
