Sensing all is not as it seems, the two men take a step back, just as Wesh's command takes hold of one of them.

Puzzled at his mate's extraordinary action, the remaining standing man looks to break into a run.

Current situation, a man's prone and looks to crawl away. The other's surprised and looks ready to bolt. I hope this diagram would give you an idea.

Outmagicked, surprised, outnumbered and seeing his comrade brought down barely before having made a move, the prone man cowers and meekly surrenders.
Dun kill me, boss. I'll do anything, just dun kill me.

The scythe struck man lays unconscious, next to the prone man.

Well, securing these two nets 150xp with bonuses for not raising the alarm, yet. 3pm.

Diredon leaves his mount, Riman, hidden in the trees, and he takes the 50 ft. silk rope off of the horse and brings it out to Wesh.

Nicely done, Wesh...here ya go. We still have the sentry on the other side of the mansion to the north. Let's see what you can get out of this guy Wesh.

Skane trudges over the the live pail-handler, and crouches low next to him;

"These people who I fight alongside are not Northmen. I would advise you to parley with them fully, lest they turn you over to Bjorn and myself... We collect ears see? this is so our enemies never hear us coming in the night to finish the job har-har-har!"

The Northman waggles an orc ear at the man that he pulls from a belt pouch;

As she wipes her scythe clean the imposing drúída hisses at the man adding to the air of threat;

" You will draw us a landakort... a map... you southern cur, or you will wear the blóð örn!"

The trussed up man looks pleadingly at Wesh as the Northmen shakes him up.

Yea, boss. Gimme a sec. I'll draw everything, everything I saw. Jus' don't hurt me.

Wesh says "Thank you for your information" to the prisoner. Wesh thinks and says to the party "There are about half of them outside. The guards look like they are not expecting an attack from behind the house and several of them would not be able to see us and not get to the fight until later." Wesh asks the prisoner "There is no door to the back correct?"


But, but there is. Front and back. Even the windows could be broken in.

Betony comes riding back down the trail. "Seems all quiet up there. Did you ask him about the Orc in the woods."

Wesh replies "Not Yet" to Betony.

Wesh then asks the prisoner "Tel me everything you know about the orc in the woods. Is he working as a sentry for your boss? How long has he been there and what weapons is he carrying?"


Boss? Yeah, he's upstairs most of the time. Him and the sect people are up to a deal or sumthing. Dunno what though.

Glancing around he adds..

Orcs been 'round the area since we came. We think it's the proving season for them. Always looking out to get more ears. Dunno 'bout the one in the woods, the last group that came we saw 'em off. Fletched a couple of 'em too. That was 3 days ago. Mebbe they'll try again.


Skane chuckles;

"Proving time? Oh aye they proved themselves... weaker than men o' the North har-har!"

He waggles the orc ears again and nods to Bjornhildr


On cue the tall, wild druidess adds her wisdom to the pot;

"Til höggva dúnn a tré byrjun á undirstaða. Við öxl gera sami með þessir stigamaður!"

To emphasise her point she makes a sweeping cut through the ground floor of the diagram with her mighty war scythe.

Speakers of Skald, tongue of the wise, words of the North:

If we attack from the front with a solid tactical plan, then I think that we can handle them piecemeal. We will have to use some degree of stealth though. I can start by taking out some at range while we move in quickly and quietly. The original plan of walking in like bandits will likely fail since both parties are already in attendance. Another possibility is setting fire to the house. Thoughts?


I'll let you discuss out tactics here for awhile. BTW, who's holding the goody bag from your employer?

The captured man continues to observe your planning. Sometimes you see him steal a glance at the path leading to the villa and other times glancing up at the sun.


Skane nods sagely at Dieredon's reasoning as he once again sidles up to their captive;

"Aye alfur... stealth will be needed, though some of us are far from pukurslegur... perhaps two groups nei?"

He taps their cartographer with his boot and grimly grins down at him;

"... and YOU, no ideas of running or giving us away... or we make you into a new cup...heheh..." (produces his skull cup)

@Randall: Presumed it would have been Rianna or Wesh for the magic goodies?

Wesh will be the one carrying the bag.


Once a plan is decided, I'll want to know the general outline. Time, positions, special actions, items, what to do with the prisoners etc. I'll hatch out a map later after initial plans are informed.

Right here...I suggest that the northmen get as close as possible to a frontal assault without being detected, maybe just off the main path. Wesh can come up slightly behind them with Rianna. The Bramble Knight and I can each get pretty close without being seen on each flank. Once in position. I will start to take them out with my Long Bow, and that can be the signal for all others to charge in. I will provide cover for a couple of rounds and then charge into melee with Skane and Bjorn. Just my suggestion, any modifications are welcome.

If I could pull off a couple of sleep spells before we attack, it may allow us to get in even easier and quieter. It's a long range spell, so may be able to pull off without arousing the guard. Also, we have the fireworks. Perhaps we may want to open with a barrage of fireworks directly into the meeting area before we charge in.

Ok, let's try the same positioning in my post, and Rianna can sleep as many as possible, then I will use the Long Bow if any remain standing, then we go in! Not sure about how or when Wesh should set of the fireworks. Thoughts and comments please?

Fireworks could either be set off at the other side of the mansion as a diversion... [everything focussed on one place while we sneak in the other] or just to distract spellcasters and cause confusion...

Think knocking out guards then slipping in will be the best idea - how long does the sleep last? I mean do we need to kill them as the lie or can they be left... as I know the party's sensibilities don't match the Northmen's red resolve :)

We won't have time to tie sentries up methinks - quick strike needed, so if they slumber for a while - cool I've no problem, otherwise me and the big gal will be bleedin them...

Am I right in that there is only one set of stairs leading up? Could not one of us hold that narrow gap 300 style as the rest butcher (ahem I mean disrupt) the meeting? Tis a thought... we're not a stealth group (mostly) so clearing out the ground floor unnoticed will be highly unlikely... Open to ideas and flaws to my glorious holding the line gambit...

After dropping the sentries as quietly as possible for our group - read, not very quietly - I agree with Skane's plan. Let's each position ourselves accordingly and get this party started.

Totally OOC here. But if we can reach the doors without raising the alarm. I like the idea of the fireworks inside the house as a first strike. Blind or dazzle those there, confusion reigns, then swoop in.

I think holding teh line is an awesome idea on the staircase. Also a lot harder if one of the guards has acrobatics to move through your space. LEt us hope fireworks inside the house don't light it on fire as smoke would give away our attack.

I was figuring once we are inside the house, the attack is on, no need for more stealth. It would be more an issue of taking on their numbers. Of course burning the place down does have its own charm.


@Wesh: Yeah forgot about pesky acrobatics - and the last bandit leader we tackled had some tumbling skills right enough...
