@Rianna, ok, I thought that was a suggestion.
Rianna digs around in her pack before skirting around the melee near the humanoid. @G8
The contrast silence of the clearing demoralizes the remaining brute and it withdraws away.
The remaining woodsmen edge closer to the sleeping and dying, daggers drawn. While another moves over to his sleeping comrade, looking him over.
[ooc]Unless you'd want to cut down the fleeing enemy, combat is pretty much over, thanks to the darned sleep spell :). If left to their devices, the sleeping feral humanoids would be CdG'ed by the woodmen soon. Actions? Wouldn't post a map for the mop up though.
Dieredon D'atarisian
Good by me - thanks Randall.
Dieredon steps out of the forrest into the clearing with his Elven Curve Blade still drawn. He cautiously approaches the nearest body of a Feral Humanoid and examines it to determine what it is.

Good work with the slumber Rianna.
Betony Avilia
Betony drops Razorleaf and dips in the saddle to retrieve Nettle. This might give the creature a bit of a head start, but the Brambleknight has the speed and the reach to ensure he won't get far. (Can rule that off camera if you wish. We seek to injure him unless he puts up a fight, then we kill. But we hope to bring him back to the logger camp if he will surrender. Betony spears Goblin if that helps (?) (I meant 'speaks' but that was just too appropriate a typo. :P)

If the feral retreating is the one engaging Skane then I'm not letting it run off. Presume it will be Withdrawing tho...
If my feral withdraws he can only get up to double his movement away... Skane will run if necessary [x4 movement] to charge the wounded feral:
Blood-drunk Skane growls and bulls after the fleeing feral:

MW Battle Axe Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

Well, we have apparently stumbled across the Orc tribe, but these are mere young filth from what I am sure is a larger body. I will see if I can pick up the tracks.
Dieredon circles the clearing focusing on the ground and low plants to determine signs of passage in the direction from whence the Orcs arrived.

I just want to see if I can determine the direction. There may be a chance that the foul beasts came from the same direction that we are heading, towards "Trails End". And, it may be a good idea to ask these woodsman if they have a definite location of the mansion.
Rianna Stendrei

Wow, that worked better than expected. Rianna tries to go over the participants to determine what she may know of them and the situation.
Knowledge (local): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
I believe these young orcs were here as part of an initiation. Perhaps there are more in the area to watch them? And maybe we should stay clear.
DM randall793
Blessed be for your timely intervention, kind priest. Had it not for you and your companions we would surely end up as our friend here. Points to the dead earless body of the woodsman nearby. Kind miss, we make a living supplying timber to Deeptown as she commissions us. We roll the logs to the river nearby where the flow takes it down to the town.
Skäne “Countless” Ingvârssonn
Shortly after barrelling off after the orc, Skane returns trudging through the undergrowth, scowling and muttering in gruff Skald;
"fjandinn villtur ran eins og a hugleysingi"
fjandinn villtur ran eins og a hugleysingi = Damn feral ran like a coward You need to check out the reverse translation - very funny!
fjandinn villtur ran eins og a hugleysingi = sh*t wilding ran as though a recreant LOL - man love it when the reverse is better than the original :)
Dieredon D'atarisian
Well, I have picked up the trail, and it comes from the north, the direction that we were heading to reach Trail's End. If the woodsmen do not shed any additional light on the location of the mansion, then I say we continue North, following the Orc tracks.
DM randall793
Trail's End you say? There's a villa by that name further upstream riverside, though we've never ventured that far up, though it's at least a day of travel. A small group from Iomedae's church was asking the same thing a couple days ago. They continued upstream.
One of the woodsman attending to the dead woodsman body comes up to Wesh, requesting a prayer for the soul of their comrade.
Betony's off somewhere in the underbrush. The woodsmen look occupied, jolted by the dangers of the wild. Rianna however brings a little colour to their cheeks as well as the simple satisfaction of payback from slitting sleeping orc throat. Bodies lay strewn as they have fallen, the human corpse being prepared for transport and shrouded.
Betony Avilia
I like. The gear can take on more of a 'living green' appearance as they gain power. Like the lance at +1 will gain bark, +2 vines will wrap it, +3 leaves will sprout, etc. And she will lose the appropriate coinage each time. So this will be a masterwork upgrade on the lance, right?
DM randall793
Stacks of the killed orc weaponry and belongings are set aside the orc corpses. The woodsman seem intent on burning the bodies up and much activity is devoted to it.
spoils: 2 greataxes, 2 falchions, 1 large wooden shield, 1 morningstar, 2 broken studded leather suits, 3 functional studded leather suits, an assortment of pouches with 26 silver pieces between them, enough dried meat for 14 days worth of rations, a small pouch with 7 set of ears within.
Dieredon D'atarisian
Would all of you like to follow the Orc tracks to the North until they diverge with our route to Trail's End? We can decide at that point what to do.
Skäne “Countless” Ingvârssonn
Skane smiles grimly at the pouch then empties it;
"So these dýrslegur like to collect ears nei? Maybe we should have something to make them think twice should we meet more..."
The Northman then cuts the ears from all the orc corpses...
(shaking the "re-filled with orc ears" pouch) he adds;
"Might help us pick a fight har-har-har!"
dýrslegur = ferals
We should give the coin to the woodsmen for their troubles?
Dieredon D'atarisian
Alright then, if we are done here, let's move on. Stay with me, I will follow the tracks.
Survival (Tracking): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Dieredon mounts his horse, and leans over as he moves forward leading the party north along the tracks of the orcs.
Skäne “Countless” Ingvârssonn
Skane grabs his bag of orc ears, and smiling grimly mounts his nag. As he passes Bjorn he addresses his shield-brother;
"Þinn orf er skarpur bróðir. Nú láta okkur fara og uppskera a blóðugur uppskera."
Þinn orf er skarpur bróðir. Nú láta okkur fara og uppskera a blóðugur uppskera = Your scythe is sharp brother. Now let us reap a bloody harvest.
Þinn orf er skarpur bróðir. Nú láta okkur fara og uppskera a blóðugur uppskera = Thy scythe is trenchant brother. Today put us go and harvest a bloody harvest
DM randall793
Seeing their saviors starting to disperse and leave, one of the woodmen call out. Thank you, all of you. If you ever get back to Deeptown, consider that the Cutter's Guild would be honored to have you as guests.
Receive 250 xp.
Dieredon leads the way ahead, following tracks the tracks through the under growth. The terrain around you have now evolved into light forest. Soon the tracks run along side a river where it continues for a half dozen miles. The soft earth masking little of the orcs passage, until the next rains that is. The river forks into two branches. The new west branch smaller and the tracks run along side it.
5.30pm now. Probably a hour of daylight left.Is the party continuing?
Björn Helsingrsøn
Bjorn points to other side of the river where the two branches start. 'Undirstaða af á gaffall afla a kaldur gola hver vilja hjálpa rennandi vatn til viðurværi napur skordýr á flói. Þessi staða kápa okkur á tveir hlið afgangur eini einn vegur til pukur upp á okkur.'

Rianna replies to Welsh, He says that if we stop for the night, we should rest between the rivers where they meet. It would help keep the bugs away and protect us. Also, that it would be harder for someone to sneak up on us there as well.
Rianna looks at Bjorn and gives him a wink. Mjög góður eiginmaður. Ef til vill við geta tjaldbúðir saman fyrir the fyrstur tími?
Mjög góður eiginmaður. Ef til vill við geta tjaldbúðir saman fyrir the fyrstur tími? = Very good husband. Maybe we can camp together for the first time?
Dieredon D'atarisian
A sound choice for a campsite, Bjorn. I will take the middle watch...rest well for tomorrow promises to be very eventful. Anyone have any opinions on whether we follow the diverging Orc tracks or head on to the Trails End mansion and our task?
Dieredon D'atarisian
Countless, care to join me on my initial watch? It appears your shield brother is sufficiently hen-pecked as to not share a watch with you.
Dieredon throws back his head and uncharacteristically laughs heartily.
Skäne “Countless” Ingvârssonn
Skane nods and grins at the alfurs offer and jape;
"Aye why not. We can be up after Prestur Wesh and Brambleknight..."
Looking over at Bjorn and Rianna he snorts;
"Bestur grípa minn sofa á meðan ÉG geta. Hvaða furs fela a hugur geta ekki! Har!"
With that he makes up his bedroll and hunkers down, chewing on some dried rations as he does.
Bestur grípa minn sofa á meðan ÉG geta. Hvaða furs fela a hugur geta ekki! Har! = Best catch my sleep while I can. What furs hide a mind cannot! Har!
