Waiting for the DM to clarify. I thought there was no safe space on the other side of the lava. If there is then Simon will join in due course.

Ravens the Birdmaster |

Ravens recoils (and probably recoils from the blood on) his silken rope.
Oh yeah, that's there. That dude had a choice to cut the rope or his...ah nevermind. He chose poorly.
Ravens looks around again after stuffing the rope back in his 'sack.
"Nothing over there, huh? Maybe this is a wrong turn? What other options do we have?" Ravens asks. "Oh yeah, the mist. Gotta love the mist option."

Skiron gets a strange (different from normal) look in his eyes.
"If the floor's an illusion, maybe the walls are, too...."
Rolling to see if I'm good enough to spot an illusion when I see one (or anything else that may be 'up' with the walls):
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Seugathi's Perception: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (16) + 15 = 31

Ravens the Birdmaster |

Uh, Ravens isn't really a riddle guy...and I'm not sure I can figure it out either. If no one else has a way forward...
Ravens looks around, then walks back to the room with the mist. He prepares again to jump through.
"No better ideas, eh?"

"No, I think we are on the right path. The riddle talks about a fortuitous fall leading to an entrance on the wall. I'll cast fly and look around before you try that mist," Ta'ruk takes out a scroll and reads the incantation. He flys off and begins searching for a entrance along the walls above the lava.
If possible, I'll take 20 to find the entrance. +4 perception.

Ta'ruk: You do not find any entrances above the Lava. But you are certainly on the right track

![]() |

"Blast it all if the entrance is beneath the lava," Jeneva grumbles, glaring down at the bubbling, boiling substance below the rotating floor. "Perhaps it is concealed until the floor is turned to a proper angle or some other sort of device? Perhaps Ta'ruk could walk on the floor without our intervention holding it aplace, descend as normal as if he'd succumbed to the trap's deceit, and see if that alters anything below while he is still able to fly."

Simon Demarkus |

Simon drops a pebble into the lava and watches it closely. Does it react as one would expect with lava (little flare up) or does it fall right through (indicating illusion)?

Simon Demarkus |

Simon It reacts like lava and as you get near the edge you will feel the incredible heat.
"Humm. If the door is under there I hope someone has a way to prevent fire damage...and death by crushing weight of a bunch of boulders rolling over one."

Ta'ruk |

Ta'ruk watches the stone be swallowed by the lava. "I still think the door is hidden on the wall. Maybe one of you are more adept at finding such things. I have one more scroll of flying unless one of you has a means of taking flight."

Simon chucks some pebbles At the far wall. He starts where a door would logically be and then elsewhere in an expanding pattern. He's listening for sound differences (wood vs stone or metal) as the rocks hit. He also watches to see if any stones go through the wall even a little.
just trying something

DMTFY |

Ravens: lets try this again
1d100 ⇒ 37
Looks like its option 1...thats too bad.
I will move you on the map to the appropriate spot.
On your way to the mist, you discover a secret door on the southern wall at the bottom of this pit trap. The bottom of which is lined with wicked spikes.

![]() |

"Figures we'd be distracted by a false path," Jeneva mutters, grudgingly accepting that this might not be the "fall" they were looking for and heading back toward where the shouting is coming from.

Ta'ruk |

Ta'ruk grudgingly abandons their quest to solve this riddle and follows Jeneva back toward where Ravens is shouting.
"Where'd you find the door Ravens?" asks Ta'ruk.

Ta'ruk looks down over the edge and see the spike pointing back up. He chuckles to himself. "Sometimes Ravens your the tip of the spear, and sometimes your on the receiving end."

Ta'ruk |

Once all of the wood is in place, Ta'ruk climbs down and looks at the secret door. "This must have been the fortuitous fall leading to a door in the wall."
If Ta'ruk doesn't see any traps like that is going to happen with his low perception score and the door is not locked, Ta'ruk tries to open the door.
perception for traps: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
I like the map icons you added for the traps and the wood.

Ta'ruk |

"Doors open!" calls back Ta'ruk. "And more haze." Ta'ruk picks up one of the splintered pew remnants and tosses it into the hall to see what happens. perception: 1d20 + 4 - 5 ⇒ (7) + 4 - 5 = 6
the impaled dude was my favorite as well.

Simon joins the group in the pit.
Moved myself on the map and set molly off to the side. She's unconscious and in my pocket. She needs some rest and restoration before she'll be back in the game.

Ta'ruk |

Ta'ruk goes along with Ravens and Skiron down the hall way. Ta'ruk almost bumps into Ravens as he stops at the top of the second stairs. "Well the mist hasn't melted our skin yet. Let's keep moving." Ta'ruk heads down the stairs watching for any loose steps along the way that may trigger another trap.
perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
How bright is it down here? If its dark, Ta'ruk casts light on his hammer, otherwise he uses his low light vision to look ahead.

Ravens the Birdmaster |

Ravens runs and runs, screaming the entire way.
He stops before Ta'ruk stops, and, for that, he is pleased.
Looks like others will have to push for a while. Ravens will be joining Jeneva in the back.

Given that those two seem a tad dense, Skiron is quite curious as to just what it is that could...communicate so profoundly to them. He ventures down the stairs....
Fortitude save: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (5) + 14 = 19
Curiosity saved the cat! Depending on the nature of this horror, I may get additional bonuses besides: +2 if it's some kind of gaze attack, +2 if it's a phantasm or something that attacks my subconscious, and another +1 if it's what would be described as a "madness" effect.
P.S.: *sigh* Hopefully, it's all three.

Ravens the Birdmaster |

Raven, when he returns, will act like nothing unusual happened.
1d20 - 2 ⇒ (7) - 2 = 5 Bluff
Something totally happened. And Ravens ran away at top speed, crying like a shepherd vs. an owlbear.
When he gets back to the gas, he will use a Pearl of Power to recall Air Bubble, cast it, and enter the mists.
He will look for a way to disarm or stop the mists.
1d20 + 15 ⇒ (11) + 15 = 26 Perception

Ravens:Spellcraft: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27 You do not see a way to turn off the fog, However you do see a hallway headed south that is covered in webs...But not your garden variety webs, these seem to be made of force.
I have moved you on the map where you can see the webbed hallway
