Well as you are sitting around contemplating on the design and designer
Ravens: MM: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 You are hit by another bolt of force, the room in front of you appears to be a dead end.
Simon: MM: 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (1, 2, 2) + 3 = 8 You are hit by a bolt of force as you enter each room
The way this works is that you get 1 action per room and then you are hit by a MM. Additionally, upon entering a room you are struck by an MM

"This seems like a pointless dead end with a trap meant to punish anyone who seeks to investigate it further. All in favor of going back and searching the other aperture?"

![]() |

"The riddle said something about what I can only assume to mean an enchanted ring," Skiron calls out impatiently. "Has anyone got one?"

Ta'ruk |

"Yes, I have an enchanted ring. I find it quite useful. Hopefully we will find someone else trapped in here that has another we can relieve them of prior to reaching that part of the riddle." retorts Ta'ruk in an irritable tone. "Now, let's head back to the main hallway and try something different." Ta'ruk turns and heads back to where they first entered.

Ravens the Birdmaster |

Ravens opens the secret door (assuming Molly or someone points it out).
He draws a wand from his 'sack, using it close one of the more burns from the magic missiles.
2d8 + 3 ⇒ (4, 1) + 3 = 8 healing
HP: 68/75
Gr. Longstrider = 9 hours
Magic Vestment = 9 hours
Wand of CMW (45/50 left)

Jeneva continues to watch the rear with suspicious eyes, expecting another attack, ambush, or trap; but once everyone else is through she plans to follow through the secret door.

Skiron is about to throw up his hands and wander back out to the main hallway when Molly throws up her alert. A second, more in-depth examination of that room enables him to easily ascertain the nature and position of the secret door, and he directs his mutilated husk of a mutant chuul to open it.

DMTFY |

Ravens. We will say the chuul took 1bolt. That means you will be taking the other MM: 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (1, 4, 3) + 3 = 11 3 bolts. As it takes 4 tries before you figure out that the door pulls down, sliding into the floor.
perception: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (10) + 15 = 25
Ravens. There is another not so secret doot on the southern wall, directly in front of you

Ta'ruk |

When Ravens opens up the door, Ta'ruk enters the room and joins Ravens at the threshold. "Let me go forward first. You're going through those healing charges like their candy."
If Ravens points out the secret door, Ta'ruk will enter and try to open it.

Ta'ruk |

Shield lasts 9 minutes for me so I think I am still good.
Ta'ruk calls out to the others. "Nothing but a dead end. But maybe one of you more observant fellows will want to take a look just in case I missed another secret door."

Simon Demarkus |

Simon. The door you open is hinged at the top and swings upward and inward.
Also with your perception you will auto detect the secret door on the west wall of this 30 x 10 room.
" There's another door just there. *Points* Eenie. Meenie. Miney. Mo. This one looks good. " Simon will do a quick trap check.
Percep1d20 + 23 ⇒ (5) + 23 = 28
If he finds none he will proceed to flip up the initial door unless someone objects fairly quickly.

DMTFY |

Ok we seem to have hit a point where I can fast forward you a bit so...
1d4 ⇒ 3 rds to figure out that the door slides up into the ceiling
1d4 ⇒ 1 rds. to figure out that the door is double paneled and pushes outward.
1d4 ⇒ 2 rds. to figure out that the door slides left into the wall.
Which puts Simon in room "g" facing the secret door on the western wall.
I have revealed more of the map

Skiron fishes out a small lump of what looks like a cross between quicksilver and soft fondant, and consumes it before venturing forward.
I consume a shield infusion before running aforementioned gauntlet.
He catches up with Simon and proceeds to scrutinize the buttons....

DMTFY |

Skiron: Very well then, we can assume Simon will let you know that there are 7 buttons on this door.
Now for this portion of the gauntlet. You all get 1 action before you are shot, while this is no big deal to Simon, Skiron and Ta'ruk. Your resident pincushion otherwise known as Ravens would appreciate you solving this problem sooner rather than later.

Simon Demarkus |

*sigh*
"Why don't you go back with the others who aren't getting shot at?" Simon asks
"We'll let you know when it's safe to come back. "

Ta'ruk |

Ta'ruk looks at the buttons on the floor. Are there any markings on them or worn areas indicating which ones are pushed? Any blood stains to indicate what not to push?

Simon Demarkus |

Simon pushes the far left button.
[occ]He does so slowly so if anyone wants to clear the area before he hits it feel free. [/ooc]

Simon Demarkus |

Simon there is no check so you will get out
Simon successfully, but not so gracefully, extracts himself from under the fallen door.
Dusting himself off.
"Well, it's open. '

Simon Demarkus |

Ravens follows Simon through the door, trying to get away from the annoying missiles.
"I bet that's the last of them, Simon."
Ravens looks in the new room.
1d20+15 Perception
"Dare to dream." Simon says as he develops an expression of concentration. The dirt and refuse proceed to roll off him and cause a ring on the floor.
