After that particularly chaotic melee eventually settled itself down, the dancer elected to follow into the chamber as well, weapon drawn and gaze set against whatever bizarre feature might await them. These constant interruptions have long since ceased to be entertaining, she muses frustratedly as she attempts to pierce the mist and follow the mage deeper into the catacomb.

![]() |

There is much grumbling as the warrior recovers from her moment of psychological trauma and stalks back to the group, sword still gripped firmly (perhaps too firmly) in hand. She draws the scarf from about her neck and fans it roughly at the mist, seeing if a wind will cause it to dissipate at all; no sense wasting the effort to change forms again if a breeze won't affect the bizarre spellwork in play here.

![]() |

She's not entering the mist, she's just fanning it to see if the mist reacts. She's debating using the trick she used in the room with the poison before - masquerading into a form with wings and trying to blow it away - but doesn't want to waste energy (rage rounds) if it doesn't look like it'll work.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Ravens looks at Jeneva as she enters, then smiles as she runs screaming.
He is amused to then watch her return, be-masked and blowing gas a few minutes later when he exits to report.
"I saw a hallway headed south that is covered in webs...but not your garden variety webs, these seem to be made of force," Ravens says. "I found no way to diminish the gas, but if one of us has sufficient fire, we might burn it away. Otherwise, I should club you all out, then drag your unconscious forms though, if you'd like..."and not slit your throats and steal all your gear. No, totally not.

Ravens the Birdmaster |

Ravens watches Simon scream into the mists rather than scream out of it.
"What are we going to do with the rest?" Ravens asks. "If we don't have fire, shall we go with the clubbing plan?"
P.S. Met DMTFY today. I think he only mostly hates me after one slot. And he seems like a nice guy. He has real life friends.

After a comparatively brief panic attack, Skiron looks back at the mists with an intrigued look on his face.
The most fearful adversary of all...Fear Itself.
He calmly walks back in.
Fortitude save: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (3) + 14 = 17
Unfortunately, nothing is more capable of scaring the Skiron Slayer than himself.

DMTFY |

Simon: You have made your fort save so for now I moved you next to Ravens.
Ravens: It was indeed a pleasure to meet you.He is a great guy who is well respected and
Skiron: You are rolling saves like I rolled initiative all day yesterday. so yeah you get scared and run away and eventually you make it back.

Simon Demarkus |

"It doesn't appear to be harmful beyond the fear effect. If you keep trying you'll probably make it through eventually. "
Simon says to the group on the other side of the mist.

Ravens the Birdmaster |

"It doesn't appear to be harmful beyond the fear effect. If you keep trying you'll probably make it through eventually. "
Ravens coughs in his air bubble.
"Well, since we don't have a way forward, Simon, we'll just be sucking mist until we get rid of these webs."
Ravens takes his crowbar to the webs, trying to see how sticky and strong they are.

Fortitude save: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (3) + 14 = 17
Skiron has quite the haunted mind.
Fortitude save: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (15) + 14 = 29
Pretty soon, however, his preternatural curiosity overpowers his mostly-vestigial brain stem, and so he passes through the mist, and proceeds to scrutinize the webbing.

Undeterred, Ta'ruk tries again. fortitude: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27 The third time proves to be the charm and he successfully plunges through the mist. He listens as Skiron tells him that the webbing is vulnerable to fire. "Well, I can help with that. Stand aside, Ravens."
Ta'ruk moves to within 5 feet of the web, raises his hands and begins an incantation. Fire bursts from his hand in two large streams. cast intensified burning hands. 9d4 ⇒ (4, 4, 3, 3, 1, 4, 4, 4, 4) = 31 damage dc15

Therd is a silver mace lying on the floor at the bottom of the stairs.

Given that Knowledge checks are free, tell me if there are any to make in this room - my Singular Quality bonus would no doubt apply.
"Oh, this is lovely. I hope you have room for a few guests!"
Some hideous dark light shines behind Skiron's eyes, and, like demiurges emanating from a greater being, from his form erupts 1d3 ⇒ 3 tall, emaciated entities surrounded by broad, thin moth wings, and indigo flames. They rise up behind Acererak and begin to tear into him.

He wants you to have your monsters to attack Ta'ruk and Ravens

DMTFY |

Ravens/Ta'ruk/Skiron: Instead of our friend dominating Skiron. He instead casts a boring old Cone of cold Brrrr: 15d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 2, 2, 2, 2, 6, 3, 4, 5, 1, 5, 2, 3, 4) = 50

"Well it's about time we get to the end of this task," mutters Ta'ruk to Ravens his teeth still chattering from the cold. He re-tightens his grip on his hammer and begins another incantation. Suddenly, 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 exact copies of Ta'ruk appear all around him. "I'm not going to let him get another spell off so easy next time." Ta'ruk moves forward to threaten the creature.

Luckily, I have a bit of cold resistance, and false life lasts a long time (I'm assuming it's been less than 9 hours since we entered the Tomb). Farewell, temporary hit points; you have served me well.

"Eeeeeeeexcellent."
Seeing the skeletal figure gives the dancer all she needs to know. With a mad smile, she draws her wooden blade instead of the metallic one this time, and as she lunges forward begins again to change....

Jeneva - Feral Verdancy |

With a feral howl, the hunter lunges at her newfound prey, weapon raised to shatter bones, jaws spread to crush limbs and throats.
Move action: Sheathe normal sword.
Free action: Enter masquerade + Deep Masquerade using mask Feral Verdancy. Gains Bite attack (1d4), lesser plant traits (I don't recall off the top of my head what these do, and can't get to the book from work, so will add later tonight to profile), and permanent shillelagh effect if using a wooden weapon; Deep Masquerade adds Earth Mastery (+1 attack and damage vs. landbound foes) and Magic Attacks (makes her Bite pierce DR/magic).
Move action: Move 40 ft. toward the Lich, drawing her quarterstaff as she goes.

Jeneva - Feral Verdancy |

Yes please. Can't seem to measure movement in Roll20, or turn on the grid if there is one.

Jeneva - Feral Verdancy |

Moved the last ten myself. Acrobatics: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (10) + 15 = 25 to avoid AoO.

Ravens the Birdmaster |

Round 2
Ravens takes 50 cold, blocking the damage with his lungs and allowing his fingers to frostbite. Way to move out of the way, Ravens.
Ravens, not wanting to retreat in terror for the third time, (the initial gargolye, the gas a moment ago) charges in with his sweet ass wooden club.
