Silver Crusade

Tawner surreptitiously leaves the Flaxseed, preferring to keep to himself for now. Avoiding the beast as others gather around it, he heads up to the Abby.

Casual Stealth:
Stealth: 1d20 + 0 - 110 + 0 - 19 ⇒ (19) + 0 - 110 + 0 - 19 = -110

I'm purposely not taking 10 or 20 so that I can practice dice expressions. Tawner is not wearing armor at this time.

Edit: Okay, I'm failing at this. Rolled a 10, the only modifier is my negative dex. How is it showing that I'm so stealthy? I'm using 1d20 + 0 -1 ⇒ (10) + 0 -1 = 9

Silver Crusade

"Great galloping Gertie! SHE'S ADORABLE! Hello, Tiger! I am EL GARRAPATA! And I am SO HAPPY to meet you!" El Garrapata barely contains his urge to jump forward and hug the cuddly kitty. He's audibly making a small SQUEE noise as he stands there.

Liberty's Edge

Sidi kneels down beside the large cat and holds out his hand for her to smell. "Someone else who spent time in captivity, I hear."

He gently rubs the fur behind Nora's ear. "Good to see a tiger in such good health."

Grand Lodge

Yeah, maybe too good of health. She smirks at the tiger, as she tosses another bone Nora's way.

Grand Lodge

Nora purrs at Sidi's ear rubs, but lets out a light growl at Ilenna's remark. After finishing her bone, she moves over to El. Jumping up on her hind legs, she puts her paws on his shoulders and licks him right across the face with her huge tongue. She then lets go and heads back to another bone and Sidi.

Grand Lodge

Next time you think you're bigger than me remember that, El Ilenna jokes.

Silver Crusade

1 person marked this as a favorite.

El Garrapata scratches the tiger behind the ears with both hands while repeating "Who's a good kitty for JUSTICE? YOU ARE. YOU ARE!"

Liberty's Edge

Aicadh watches the tiger. "Seems much friendlier than the cats from home. Smaller fangs too." She glances at Ilenna, "Do you follow the Green Faith?"

Grand Lodge

Not in any official capacity. I revere nature much more than any deity, but I was raised a follower of Erastil. He has not failed me so far. Ilenna flicks at a carved wooden symbol of Erastil at her belt and shrugs This has brought me luck, but I wouldn't consider myself devout.

Alright. Final decision later tonight. For those of you left out of this game I invite you be the first folks in on the super secret back up evergreen game --First Steps I. Folks who do get in to The Confirmation shouldn't fret though. I will run First Steps I as a possible sequel to this game if you like. We're all about choice here.

I anticipate the official start time for one or both to be within 24-48 hours. I just need time to collect my notes and a few additional players.

Sovereign Court

Seeing that all but a few have left, Hallimir finishes his Ale and heads for the door.

“Well, I had best be off. I will check back in first thing tomorrow. Thank you all for some truly enlightening conversation.”

As he leaves, he waves to those on the porch as he pulls his cloak hood up and starts humming quietly as he walks into the street. His form melting into the darkness as if almost by magic.

Stealth: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22

GM do you have any specific requirements for character sheets?

Tawner, I just did my first dice expression and noticed that you just have to put in the "1d20 + mod" part and it auto rolls and generates everything to the right of the '=>'. If you try to out in the (10) + 0 -1' part it gets really confused.

No real requirements but the closer you can get to this, or this the happier I will be. I've had to manually type out a lot of these over the eons (before Hero Lab), so I prefer scanning them this way. I also like not having to unspoiler individual parts of a stat block because some people have some interesting ideas as to what header to put things like movement speeds, CMB, and CMD. Still, it's more important that the info is present than pretty. If it becomes an issue, you'll get a PM about it.

As for your in-thread, post subheaders, I have a little template/tutorial for that here. Again I'm not super picky, I just like it this way. If you have one of those damned awful, anal-retentive, alternating blue and gray formatted travesties that spend more text on text formatting than actual informative text, you won't catch me judging. Much. ;)

Sovereign Court

"Hey! You!" Shouts a bright fuchsia-colored gnome astride a large wolf in leather barding.

"No, not you, you; the other 'you'." Says the gnome. She nudges the wolf to lope over. She heads straight toward the dhampir. "Are you the fair Lady Lydia Stillbourne? I mean you got the fair part cold, but is the rest you? I've got a message from the lodge."

She hands a sealed envelope to Lydia. "Took forever to find you. Most of my deliveries where supposed to be back at the Grand Lodge, but it looks like everyone is here."

"You must be Tawner Kelenfold. I was instructed to find someone who looked like they had swallowed their own cat." She hands him an identical envelope right down to the red wax-seal of the office of the Master of Scrolls.

"Airyn Skystalker. Whoah! Almost didn't see you there. Does the nature of your--er--condition permit you to leave a place you are haunting?"

"Anyone here know a woman named 'Haley Mir'?" She pauses for a response holding up an latter.

"And let me guess you're supposed to be El Garrapata, right? How do I know you are who you say you are? Ticks suck blood…do you suck blood?"

"I don't suppose any of you have seen Sidi Yawgu have you? Because that would be unbelievably convenient." She says tilting her head up, looking over the sudden crowd.

Each letter's contents:
Start where it all began. Meet us at the Pig’s Paunch one hour before dawn.

Currently, it is a little past midnight.

Aicadh, Keandre, Ilenna if you are still game I'm going to start First Steps Part 1 this weekend (to be followed by another Confirmation), and you are in right now if you want to be.

Sovereign Court

About 20ft down the street, Hallimir hears something resembling his name. Turning swiftly he strides back towards the group. His form emerging from the darkness as eerily as it had disappeared moments before.

"It's pronounced 'Hal:i:meer'" he says as he takes the letter from the Gnome.

Knowledge(local): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21

"The Pig's Paunch...sounds like fun. Who's in?"

Liberty's Edge

Not with this character, but I have a different level 1 I can bring.

Silver Crusade

Tawner accepts the envelope from the Gnome and takes a deep breath.

"Thanks."

He holds the envelope, looking around as she hands out the same to the others. He slowly opens the letter in the dim light and acknowledges Hallimir.

"I'll meet you there. Friend."

*mumbles "Heh, swallowed my own cat!"

Silver Crusade

El Garrapata stares at the strange gnome-wolf fusion and smiles. "I have been known to bleed, but only for special occasions! Like WEDDINGS and BAT MITZVAHS!"

He stares at the letter, studying it first rightside up, then upside down.

"A Pig's Paunch! How alliterative! I shall be there, tiny letter! ONWARD!" He marches out, but to where, you have no idea.

Grand Lodge

"Haunt-?" he starts as he reads the note. "Oh. Yes, I'm quite capable of meeting at this establishment."

Grand Lodge

I am down to play the other

My character is probably going to wonder where your character went in the morning...adding to his suspicion! Thanks for the role playing opportunity earlier in the thread. Good luck in your new adventure!

Liberty's Edge

The Bas'o man towers over the purple gnome as he enters the tavern and collects the letter. "Thank you."

"It looks like some of us have assignments," he says as he reads the note. "An hour before dawn? Well, we had best be on our way!" He crosses the room to collect a heavy laden pack and large carved club almost as long as he is tall.

Dark Archive

Changed him to Geryon's devotee

Liberty's Edge

Sidi heads directly to the Pig's Paunch and finds himself a bench to stretch out upon and rest his eyes. "This will not be my first night with less sleep that I'd like, but..."

Grand Lodge

Ilenna bids farewells to her new friends and heads back to the Grand Lodge for the night.

Dark Archive

Lydia looks at the note with a look of anticipation on her face.

"Though the tavern might be raunchy, still I'll venture someplace Paunchy...."

Sovereign Court

Hallimir follows Sidi to the Pig's Paunch and says with a sarcastic smile.

"well when you spend your evenings frequenting the Flaxseed until all hours, you have to expect to loose a little sleep, don't you."

With that he finds a nice, dark corner and pulls the hood of his cloak over his eyes.

"would you be kind enough to wake me when its time."

Confirmation 001 has open discussion and gameplay threads (above). I should have First Steps up either later today or tomorrow, more a little later.

Aicadh, Keandre, Ilenna, The link is up to First Steps!
