Azura Celestine |

Should have the leadership discussions ICly, too. I'll sort of nudge that along!

Darya Flamekissed |

Thinking Darya may be most suited to Warden, but it's a tough one to suddenly volunteer for. Trying to let it develop organically.

Iomenna bet-Melkiel |

Okay, so based on the conversation in the common room, here's how I'm understanding out current leadership structure:
RULER: Iomenna bet-Melkiel
TREASURER: Kelly Littlekettle
WARDEN: Darya Flamekissed (depending on it playing out in RP)
GENERAL: Merlin Brokencrown
GRAND DIPLOMAT: Luciana Moretti / Sario Ulum Tallies
MARSHAL: Luciana Moretti / Sario Ulum Taliesin
COUNCILOR: This person handles complaints and requests from the other survivors and dependents. Should have good Charisma or Wisdom. (Undecided)
HIGH PRIEST: For a community of your size, basically the person who does daily services and quotes religious books. Wisdom/Charisma. (Undecided)
MAGISTER: Your resident teacher/instructor/sage-type. People come to this person for information, book learnin', and magical help. Intelligence/Charisma. (Undecided)
SPYMASTER: Keeps an eye on things going on outside... and in. Intelligence/Dexterity. (Undecided)
@Luci and Sario: The two of you kind of presented similar roles for yourselves, and the way it sounded could fit either Grand Diplomat or Marshal. I'll let the two of you work out which of you takes which role, but, based purely on the recommended stats for those roles, it looks like Sario would actually be a good fit for Marshal, and Luci would do well as our Diplomat.
@Merlin: Since you mentioned that you have experience with the military, I figured General would make sense for you. That sound okay?
@Azura: I'm not sure if you're planning to leave Azura out of the leadership roles since you're running this for us, but if you do want to take one of the roles, I'm sure you'd do well as either Magister or Spymaster.
@Ik, Dragz, Bahram, etc.: If any of you folks are still interested in the campaign and want to find a way to contribute, it would be great to fill the rest of those roles.

Merlin Brokencrown |

I can definitely see Merlin growing into that position.
He still has a lot of doubts, but he is steadily learning on the fly...

Iomenna bet-Melkiel |

Yeah, I think that's kinda the case for many of our characters.
For instance, Iomenna has never been in any sort of official leadership position (she's barely old enough to join the crusades in her own rights), but she has watched her mother and father serve as leaders among their units, so she has an idea of what it means to be a leader even if she doesn't necessarily have experience as one herself.

Azura Celestine |

Fortunately, various kingdom rolls typically happen only once per month. So, you just need to get through the first Stability check, then muddle your way along for a few weeks. Plenty of time to learn. :)

Azura Celestine |

In other news, it looks like the Roll20 map I made is completely ruined, going to have to start from scratch.

Merlin Brokencrown |

Stuff happens. We are still with you.

Iomenna bet-Melkiel |

Hey folks! Just wanted to let you know I'm gonna be out of town for a few days starting tonight. It'll just be over the weekend, and things tend to slow down a bit then anyway, but just wanted to give you a heads up. If the combat moves further along while I'm gone, feel free to bot me.

Azura Celestine |

Yes, Iomenna's here - she's in her room, so she can come out into the hallway presently.

Merlin Brokencrown |

I would have Ik and Braham stay at the Inn, since both players have gone M.I.A.
Then have two groups of four go out in similar directions, so if one group gets in trouble the other isn't too far away.
I am sure that our active players would want to be included in a recon group.

Azura Celestine |

Bahram PM'd me and asked to quietly drop out, as he wasn't interested in the resource-management-and-building part of the game.

Good ideas. Thanks! Although, now that we know Bahram is out, can we still count on his character as a person to hold down the fort? I guess it would be the same question with Ik. If he's either dropped out entirely or just not active on the thread and the tavern gets attacked, will we get credit for having some of our original people stationed there or are they effectively gone?
This is why I was thinking of groups of three. That way we have at least 2 people who are continuing to post at the tavern, which, I assume, will have some action for them to handle, while the groups deal with their respective searches.
Azura, if you have any info on how you plan to handle situations like this, it would be a huge help for us in planning stuff like this. Obviously, I don't expect you to show your hand in terms of telling us when there will be an attack or something, but on points like how we can treat inactive players, it would be good to know if we can consider them to be active resources or not.

Azura Celestine |

My original plan was for Bahram to go out with a few people scouting, get lost and never return, fate indeterminate, but he can certainly stay in the background (and maybe the player will decide to come back some time). Ik Ha Thruun's player altered his alias so maybe he drifted off to get into another game, but I haven't seen him on the boards either (he abandoned the games he was running) so presumably his character would be left behind very disoriented (his extremely unconventional backstory makes it easy to have him out of it any time).
If you want to snag some additional players for reinforcements, we can do that too. The original idea was always that this game would be a bit larger than the conventional AP.
Splitting into two groups is a perfectly fine idea.

Iomenna bet-Melkiel |

I think if we are able to keep the 8 we have right now, we'll be in decent shape, though we do have some glaring holes in our party make-up. This is how I see our crew right now:
Iomenna - Celestial Steelblood Bloodrager; pure martial until 4th, will get some buffing magic
Merlin - Warsighted Oracle; flexible martial with some buffing magic
Dragz - Scarred Barbarian; pure martial
Kelly - Urban Barbarian; pure martial
Luciana - Paladin; martial
Darya - Warrior of the Holy Light Paladin; martial, some healing skill
Sario - Druid; controller, some skills
Azura - Arcane Healer Bard; healer and some skills
With the current set of characters, we're really martial-heavy, with only 2 or 3 casters, depending on how much casting Merlin wants to do. I'll eventually get some more offensive arcane magic, but we'll be really lacking in that field until then, and we don't have much in terms of support/heal casters either. We have a pretty broad range of skills between the 8 eight of us, which is good. Right now I'm thinking inviting some others to join the fun might be a good idea, especially if they could fill one of those roles I mentioned (full offensive arcane caster and/or support caster).
Anyone else have ideas of how we might proceed?

Azura Celestine |

If we just throw open a recruitment we'll get like 40 people. It might be cool to target specific players you know and have played with and ask them if they are interested in joining up.
Important note about Azura-the-character: All of her stuff was left behind when she was evacuated with a critical wound. She currently has no weapons, armor, or spell component pouch. This will sharply limit her contributions for the moment.

Iomenna bet-Melkiel |

Ah. Bugger.
I do like the idea of targeting specific people, and I've got some in mind. No one I know IRL unfortunately, but some folks I've played with in other campaigns. I'll reach out to some people.

Sario Ulum Taliesin |

I have never really thought of a general direction for Sario but I guess I should, the "caster" druid is kinda funny since they have build the class for wild shape now.
I didn't build her overly effectively either and I kinda wish I had taken a bit more time but I can just have that be a quirk for her on she isn't really sure what she is good at or what she now wants to do.

Azura Celestine |

You can build how you like; we can work out support as needed. Eventually Azura will get some supplies, and you will of course find other survivors (whether NPCs or players). Also, if you feel the need to retrain, there will be opportunities to do so.
Additionally, you'll all be moving up to level 2 after the next set of encounters.

Merlin Brokencrown |

Merlin is learning about his powers as we go.
He will be a decent buff caster, along with the ability to spontaneously cure, so that's helps.
He is a full caster too, but he won't be doing DC spells.
I wanted someone versatile; both martial and caster.
He also can cover some "rogue" area as well.
I believe that our remaining 8 will be a really good center to this campaign, but if you have a couple of reliable posters that want to join, that's cool.
I actually think having so many martials (druid included imo) is exactly what we need for the initial reclamation!
We are only 1st level after all...lol!
Btw, I really do enjoy this campaign and I think those of us still here is in for something awesome.
Has anyone checked the "actual" campaign lately?

Darya Flamekissed |

I have absolutley no casting ability, nor will I with my Archetype, though I'll eventually give buffs to att/damage provide energy resistance and lesser restoration while in combat. With Lay on hands I'll be able to heal some And I was planning on taking Extra Lay on hands anyway since it fuels Power of Faith

Azura Celestine |

Link to new map is posted. Thank you for your patience. This is a test using a Google Drive slide. Note that you have edit access (so you can move your tokens) so please be careful and don't accidentally delete/move the map around. :)

Darya Flamekissed |

I got "The requested URL was not found on this server, or you do not have permission to access this area." when I clicked on the map.
Okay it works now.

Kelly Littlekettle |

I'm having the same trouble with the map link. It is trying to send me to:
http://paizo.com/campaigns/WardensOfTheRighteous/You%20advance%20to%20one%2 0of%20the%20nearby%20buildings.%20It%20looks%20like%20a%20simple%20stone%20 structure%20that%20might%20be%20a%20workshop%20or%20a%20meeting%20room%20of %20some%20sort%20-%20hard%20to%20tell%20from%20the%20outside;%20any%20signa ge%20that%20might've%20existed%20once%20upon%20a%20time%20is%20long%20since %20destroyed.%20The%20stones%20themselves%20are%20slightly%20singed%20but%2 0the%20structure%20is%20mostly%20intact.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E[url=https://docs.go ogle.com/presentation/d/10J7YCxgphXRwV0hLGHJs2U6kn5CG6R%20yvvNkP8bo31mQ/edi t?usp=sharing
What is up with that? Why is there a paragraph of text in the URL? It looks like Azura's most recent post in the gameplay thread. It seems to me a redirect of some kind went horribly wrong.
I'm going to cut that last bit off the end of that mess, the bit that looks like a google docs URL. I'll try that.
Edit: No luck, google says that document no longer exists. The Paizo forums has been really sluggish today, maybe that has something to do with it

Azura Celestine |

Dunno, I'll double-check the URL in the Campaign Info tab (since I can't edit the one in the post).
EDIT: Wow, that link got a bunch of garbage data. Try the one in the campaign info tab again!

Kelly Littlekettle |

Hey, it's working now.
Aaaaaand I screwed it up. #facepalm
I'm on my iPad here, I open the map in the slides app, hey pretty neat. I poke my character tile, then go to touch something else to deselect it, and the "delete" button appears RIGHT under my finger.
So, can I get a new one? Not sure how to on the tablet. I was on the west side, across from Iomenna.

Azura Celestine |

I'll make a new one for you.
Of note, players you can feel free to move to all be on one side, around a corner, etc. before you open doors. You don't have to be split up if you don't want to.

Merlin Brokencrown |

Merlin has forgotten to mention, that he has "trapping" experience.

Iomenna bet-Melkiel |

Yeah, figures a bunch of meat-head warriors walked straight into a couple basic traps. Haha. That'll teach us, I guess.
On another note, I wanted to let you all know I'm gonna be out of town starting this evening and running through next Tuesday, Oct 11. I'll be fully back online next Wednesday. I'll have my phone with me at least, so I may still be able to put up short posts, but maybe not. I'll do my best at least to keep up with what's going on while I'm gone so I can jump right back in when I return.

Azura Celestine |

Back from a memorial service for a friend. Would like to have one weekend without going out of town!

Merlin Brokencrown |

Nothing out there, that's for certain...lol.
Going to a Con for the weekend, so probably won't be posting til Sunday night.

Azura Celestine |

No worries, the game has been going pretty slow anyway. (I actually want to post more often but I keep having stuff get in the way! My apologies to everyone for that.)

Merlin Brokencrown |

I check daily...

Azura Celestine |

Uuugggh looks like my last post was swallowed by the internet ether. :/ Reposting!

Dorian 'Grey' |

Attending UCon in Michigan this weekend. Catch up after...

Azura Celestine |

I will be camping and out of contact this weekend. Back Monday!

Merlin Brokencrown |

I really want fire elementals for my forge!
