Reaching a decision it seems that Helgash, Greta and Duardlara will bring Bragda out while the others remain here to search the area and maintain their position. Bragda looks startled when she sees the 3 of you approach but such is her relief at getting out she doesn't say anything other than to answer Duardlara's question. There were 6 of us originally. 3 of them died in the initial assault. The other 2 and I made it to the house but they succumbed to their wounds and died shortly after.
You easily can escort her out of the forest. When you reach the edge Bragda looks like she is going to say something about you coming with her but stops. she looks at Greta in wolf form, Helgash wish his plethora of weapons and Duradlara's cool demeanor and says, Screw it. You are not suppose to be here but I am not going to raise a fuss. I never saw you and you never saw me. Got it! Now get lost. With that she turns and quickly leaves the market square.
Those searching the house do you want to make perception checks please.

Monkey see, monkey do!
Perception: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (12) + 17 = 29
Beck gingerly looks around in the house, climbing up into a window and along the rafters, avoiding the floor with his bare feet, cause i got a climb speed, and I ain't afeared to use it
Venja |
Venja peers through the windows before following the others inside (if they go inside that is).
perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27

Inside the house are the bodies of the two human Winter Guards of Bragda's patrol who died here from their injuries. Much of their equipment is of little value, but the following items can be salvaged: a masterwork composite longbow (+2 Str), three potions of lesser restoration, and an Efficient quiver holding 10 +I cold iron arrows and 30 normal arrows, 3 potions of cure light wounds, 3 potions of resist energy cold, 4 alchemist fires.
Duardlara Frostborn |
When we return, D'lara will be interested in the Efficient quiver if our primary archer already has one.
The escort team will return into the trees after watching the Commander disappear. Duardlara looks at the clearing where the Hut resides in an attempt to evaluate whether anything has changed with the falling of the fey they defeated earlier.
When they reach the hut, she is curious about the wounds on the two fallen warriors. "If the rumors were true, she's been here for a while. I expect she got hungry..."
DM Variel |
Good call Duardlara about the Hut clearing...
As Duardlara passes by the reality syphon it seems to her that she can see a bit clearer into the clearing where the Hut is sitting.
The bodis show signs of combat wounds but they do not seem to have been eaten...yet. The house is devoid of food though and it probably wouldn't have been long before Bragda resorted to eating her fallen.
Duardlara Frostborn |
"The area around the magic hut seems to be better. I suspect we will find another fey like the one with the floating rocks. Maybe two."
Collecting the efficient quiver, thanks.

Moving onward to th west of Bragda's house the group sees a flickering light in the twilight of the forest. Cautiously approaching after a few twists and turns you see a welcoming sight before your eyes. Another house sits easily on its foundation as the forest has sprung up around it. In front of the house is a roaring fire keeping the perpetual cold away. Sitting around the fire drinking and carousing are 4 couples: the men appear to be merchants while the women are 4 drop dead gorgeous red heads. As soon as the py see you they all look at each other before 1 of the women stands up and motions you forward. Hurry strangers and join us before the strange creatures of the forest spirit you away. We have food and drink aplenty. Join us while we celebrate the end of Golarion as what else could explain this strange world we now find ourselves in.
Duardlara Frostborn |
Retcon - D'lara is scouting stealthily by default.
Stealth: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (19) + 13 = 32
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
DM Variel |
Ok so they don't see Duarldara at first but nothing she sees gives her pause initially.
While their words and actions hold true the men seem off to you. Either that are so completely drunk that they don't really know what is going on or the women have some control over them. Also from what you have experienced in the woods thus far it would be difficult to be safe iPhone without some form of protection within the men are incapable of right now.
Duardlara Frostborn |
Helgash |
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Helgash's eyebrow raises impossibly high at the apparently relaxed scene amidst all this chaos - "Indeed" - he comments at Jetro, his attention focusing beyond what the eyes can see, to search for evil auras amongst these people.
Using Detect Evil.
He does take the lead though - "Well met" - he calls out - "You have managed to remain safe?"
Duardlara Frostborn |
Duardlara remains hidden for now. She enters the clearing before the others and circles to the right. She is crouched near the tree border in E21, if that's reasonable.
Venja |
Venja scowls... they look innocent enough, but their expressed pleasure at the 'end of Golarion' and their mention of this being a 'strange world' indicates to her that they are perhaps not of this world... perhaps demons or fae creatures. She wracks her brain trying to place what they might be, these crimson-haired women...

DM Variel |
Venja you realize that these capricious women are fey creatures but what exactly they may be is difficult to tell as many fey take on a human guise. While these fey may not detect as evil, like most fey they have abstract views of what is considered evil or not and have a tendency to wear emotions openly if angered or aroused.
Venja |
Venja whispers to the others... "They are fey but I know not what kind as they seem to be in a human form right now... they might be capricious even if not evil... be cautious."
She casts detect magic to see if the silent men are enspelled or enchanted, then, to the women she says "Hello... I'm glad you've managed to keep the wildlife at bay... who are you and how did you come to be in this strange place?"
DM Variel |
You can see a path that continues west beyond the fire but not what is over in that direction.
Venja, women introduce themselves as Elzibethe, Joliphetta, Mara, and Kiara. We have been with the men for a while now. When the trees appeared all around we found this oasis and shelter. The men have bee gracious hosts and we have enjoyed their company greatly. Come join us.
The men are under a enchantment spell and the wine that they are drinking appears to be magicl as well.
Venja |

Venja feels the slight compulsion, shakes off the urge to join them. "I would join you for I would love to speak with you more, but I must stay with my companions... How long have you been here? and do you know what lies outside these woods?"
DM Variel |
As far as I know by now there is nothing beyond this wood. It may have taken up all of the world by now. It seems like we have been here forever. If you wish to join us then bring your companions as well. There is plenty of drink for everyone.
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14 the statement is a half truth. They seem sincere that they don't kno anything beyond the wood but they have only been here for a few days.
Venja |

"Surely it only seems like forever, these woods haven't been here that long, this is a market square in a city after all... how came you here?"
DM Variel |
Quite simply we walked from the direction Yu came from till we found this house. Once we arrived and settled down with these gentlemen we have no urge to go elsewhere.
Duardlara is hiding, anyone else joining in the conversation or just hanging back behind Venja?
Venja |
"I see... well, we do have something we're seeking in these woods, so I'm sorry we don't have time to join you, clearly your fire must be warming. Thank you for the invitation though."
Quietly to her friends she whispers via the message spell "We should go around them, give them a wide berth, they tried to compel me to join them, and feel that would be a bad idea... I'm not sure what kind of fey they are but they have clearly enspelled these men, and we don't want that to happen to us."

Venja looks in shock as Jetro gives in to their request and tries to grab him by the arm and shake him free of the compulsion... "Jetro, STOP! stay with me!" She extends her hair and grabs him trying to pull him back.
Since she can't cast a lightning bolt at the women without hitting and harming the innocent men, she backs out of what she hopes is the range of their compulsion (moving back close to Beck, trying to pull jetro with her, using her hair if she must to do so - it's str 20).
