"Aright, Ven, hopefully nobody's else gonna be needin healin more'n a good night sleep." beck says to venja, with a tiny bow of his gnomish form.
As to where to go, beck says, "Well, the longer we wait, the worse the trip'll be, but there a cave what we aught look around in afore we move on, an figure on what to do bout the portal. Shall we check in on the cave? May have supplies or plans, or any whatnot an so-an'-so. Maybe even clues about the portal."
When the party is ready to look in the northeast cave, Beck leads on, not bothered by darkness.

Damn, I forgot the GM mentioned a cave. Cool - in that case Gabryjel's conversation would have happened in a cave rather than under tree cover; provided it's not too far or guarded. If it is far or guarded, I'll happily do the conversation as ret-con in advance :)

The cave is only 50 ft away so easy to get to. It does take a bit longer to explore though and 30 minutes elapses while you are searching it. Altogether, the cave holds 34 days' worth of common meals, preserved here by the cold, but quick to spoil if exposed to warmer temperatures.
a lockbox that opens with the use of the key found on the troll. The chest holds four potions in an iron coffer, six blue quartz "ice diamonds" from Irrisen worth 100 gp each, a silver diadem worth 450 gp, a near flawless diamond worth 750 gp, a jeweled necklace worth 600 gp, a painting of Whitethrone worth 150 gp to an art collector, 6 sapphire rings worth 75 gp each, a decorative filigree longsword scabbard worth 125 gp, and a small scrimshaw sculpture ofdancing sprites surrounding a piping satyr worth 50 gp, as well as 3657 gp, 4813 sp, and 2660 cp.
Gabe, looking at the coins you can tell they are not local. Based on that and the painting of white thrown you are somewhat confident with the help of others that this is all from Irrisen.

Gabryjel Kazimierz |

Gabryjel heaps the gear from outside and the items in the cave into a large pile. His eyes gleam at the wealth in front of them.
"That's some good loot, there," he says looking at the items in front of them.
He looks at the potions a moment, not sure what they are.
"Anyone here got a knowing on these things? Like - if they're magic, or just booze?" he says with a grin, pleased at what they found.
He looks around at the cave in front of them nodding his head in satisfaction at the place.
"Nice work, Beck," he says, clapping the druid on his back in a friendly gesture.
"I reckon this cave is big enough to crash in; and easier to post guard on than one of them damn ice houses out there."
"We can maybe get a fire going to stay warm and I reckon the smoke'll drift out the cave mouth - but it'll be better than freezing all night," he says.
"After we rest tonight we can try taking a stab at what comes next tomorrow without a two hour hike back and forth in the snow."
He looks over at the gear, rubbing his chin.
"These coins look like maybe they're northern - some place called Irrissen," he says thoughtfully.
"The gods revealed that much with a little luck," he adds with a grin.
"Speaking of revealing stuff - hey - Whitestorm - any chance you can decipher the scroll I gave you earlier - or maybe get a reading on if the gear is magic?"
Watching the elf for a bit, he sighs after a moment.
"I'm going to get some firewood - be back in a bit," he says.
"If anyone's got a reading on the gear; mind letting me know when I get back?" he calls out from over his shoulder as he heads out.
Gabryjel steps outside for a bit to some of the trees and uses his ax to chop off some branches and begins to take them back inside the cave and heap them up to make a fire and stay warm for the night; assuming the others are ready to camp out.

Venja will cast detect magic and scan the items, expecting the potions to glow, but unsure of the rest when she begins.

"Variel, you are quite skilled at spellcraft. Perhaps you could take a look at these as well?"

Variel Whitestorm |

Still not able to hear what people are saying Variel tries to get the gist of it. Apparently Gabe wants him to keep the scroll and as for he rest who mnows what they all are.
Still talking louder than normal due to his deafness, Gabe thanks for the scroll although I have no idea what it is right now. As for the rest I haven't the faintest idea asi did not prepare any spells this day to identify them.

DM Variel |

Venja you manage to tell that all 4 potions are similar and although not positive about the second check you assume they are all potions of feather step at caster level 2. Also magical is the boar spear.
A surge of wind suddenly blasts from the swirling vortex in the ring oficicles, gusting outward in a stinging spray of snow and ice. Suddenly, a gaunt horseman with curling ram's horns and wearing coal-black armor lurches through the portal astride a black warhorse, surrounded by tendrils of cold, dark mist. The rider slumps in the saddle, a shard ofblue ice jutting from his back. As rider and mount come to a halt in the snow, the horse suddenly dissipates into black smoke, and the horseman falls to the ground with a groan.

Venja |

"These are all potions of feather step, I believe... they could come in handy if we continue to stay in snowy or icy terrain. The spear is also magical, though I'm not sure of its properties just yet."

"C'mon mates. Dunno who he is, but we aught get him into the cave. If he's friend, then we can save 'im, an' a foe'd be good for information," he says as he rushes back into the cold. "Gotta get 'im and us-selves back in the cave in case sommat's followin him!"

The following may need to change, but here's the check in case it doesn't have to.
If the rider is not determined to be friendly, and there's nobody following the rider and we have time, then beck says "Bind him jsut in case, hands and feet, an' we'll get this shard out o' him eh? Throw on a gag an' wrap his fingers while yer at it," Var, can we take the man's armor and gear from him without doing further damage to him? or as part of the healing operation, just so he's not armed or armored when we're done with him.

Gabryjel Kazimierz |

Venja you manage to tell that all 4 potions are similar and although not positive about the second check you assume they are all potions of feather step at caster level 2. Also magical is the boar spear.
Slight ret-con before getting wood -
Gabryjel looks over at Xanxan and nods at his wisdom about the gear.
"Well, maybe it won't buy a title, but at least it's a start."
He listens to Venja's assessment of the gear and decides to put it back in the sack for now, until they can figure out what to do with it.
Gabe thanks for the scroll although I have no idea what it is right now. As for the rest I haven't the faintest idea asi did not prepare any spells this day to identify them.
Gabryjel cocks and eye at Variel; somewhat confused.
"Nah - I never said you could have it, I asked if you could identify it - I asked it twice, you know?"
"Once we know what it is - and how much it's worth - then we can talk about who gets what, you know? Hell, for all we know it's scroll that'll let you Raise the Dead, you know?" he says with a wry grin, raising his voice much more so the elf can hear him better.
Watching the elf for a moment, Gabryjel starts to say something then reconsiders things and decides an another tack.
Clapping Variel easily on the shoulders he steers him away from the others to speak with him a moment.
"Look - you got a lot on your mind; you got lots to think about - your wife; the magic - and all the rest, I get it."
"Plus - you're having some trouble hearing, you know? But believe me - I'm pretty damn loud - that shouldn't really matter. I talk loud and long enough for folks to hear; and if not - I can do it louder," he adds, raising his voice.
He looks at Vaiel intently for a moment.
"But I got to say this - as a friend... I don't mean to sound like a dick; but get your head in the game, Whitestorm; I mean it," he says, adding the last with a bit more emphasis.
"You're part of this crew. When one of your mates asks you a question, they shouldn't need to ask twice, you know?"
He glances at the sky from the shelter of the cave.
"I ain't much for long speeches, generally, because despite the long words it actually takes me a long time to compose my thoughts properly before I toss them out there for you to hear."
"Just saying - for as much time as it takes you to listen to what I say - know that I got to think about it first; then I got compose my words just write so they don't come off like a bunch of crap. So as much of a pain in the ass as it is for you to listen to me ramble; know that it's more of a pain for me to have to do it all."
"After taking all that time to do that - I kind of figure it's only common courtesy to respond to what I got say, so I don't have to repeat it, because I got a lot on my mind, too."
He points to the sky and looks at Variel - there's no rancor in his eyes or face, only a combination of frustration mixed with a bit of sympathy for the elf's position.
"Right now the god's themselves seem to pay more attention to me than you do. I feel their presence and words in my spirit more than I even hear you talk - to me, to the others you know?"
"But that's got to stop. You're a gods damned part of this crew, you know? You chose to be, you wanted to be, so yeah - you're part of it." he adds with a more gentle tone in his voice than his words would suggest.
"Meantime, I'm happy for it; you're damn good with a blade and you're handy besides. But here's the deal - you need to start answering your mates and talking to your mates, because if you're going to ride with us; that's your job. You ain't just a gods damned mercenary or sell-sword; you're one of us, you know?"
"Point is - the gods got enough on their minds, they don't always need to be whispering mysteries to all of us - I appreciate that they do; but you're a member of this crew. Ain't nobody in it should need to ask you twice anything - I get it's hard, but it's the job you signed on for, so... just saying," he says, watching Variel carefully.
Again, it is clear that despite the words Gabryjel seems to understand Varie's position very much. But despite this understanding, it is equally clear that Gabryjel is beset with many burdens of his own and his hoping that in the future that if his comrade continues to travel with them that he'll be more - attentive - to his allies, and - to an extent - his family.

Gabryjel Kazimierz |

"C'mon mates. Dunno who he is, but we aught get him into the cave. If he's friend, then we can save 'im, an' a foe'd be good for information," he says as he rushes back into the cold. "Gotta get 'im and us-selves back in the cave in case sommat's followin him!"
Gabryjel hears Becks's suggestion and reaches into his pack and pulls out a pair of manacles and tosses them to Beck deftly - just in case the druid needed help binding him.
As he watches Beck work, Gabryjel looks at the strange being and glances back at Beck, noting the similarities between the two.
Moving close to Beck he whispers softly.
"He may be a tiefling, too, you know? The horns and all..." he says with a nod.
"If he's tiefling... aren't they weak against cold iron or silver?" he says carefully, keeping his voice low.
"If you need any of that kind of gear, let me know - I got some handy," he says with a nod.
Seeing that Beck is trying to help the man, and knowing a bit about medical attention, he decides to get a fire going so that he can keep the man warm and prevent him from slipping into hypothermia.
Also, if the man is a Tiefling (as the horns suggest) it is likely that heat may help his blood. Besides, hot water was often useful in helping during medical procedures.
Take 10 on Survival to get a fire lit inside the cave for warmth and to help with any medical issues.
Survival - 10+6 = 16 to light fire

AS beck hurries out into the driving snow once again he gets a closer look at the creature before him. The creature would be about 6'4" tall with broad shoulders. The helm he is wearing has two curving rams horns extending upwards. The shard of ice in his back has penetrated through the full plate armor.
Acting quickly yet cautiously you attempt to bind the hands and bring him into the cave. However as you work you notice that it is impossible to have the rope fasten around his wrists. Not understanding exactly why you still bring him into the cave out of the blinding snow.
Depositing him on the ground the healers among you can find a faint heart beat and shallow breathing but nothing more substantial. As you are ministering to him a soft groan escapes from his lips. Baba Yaga, give me strength.
The shallow breathing deepens and the pulse and heartbeat quicken as f magical aid form some other realm has touched the man. Either that or he is drawing on the last stores of his strength as with a mailed hand his takes the helm off of his head. Beneath is a bald white bearded man of great age with ice blue eyes that can pierce into your soul. Somehow it seems like his eyes are looking at all of you at once even though it seems like his face is gazing at some distant point.
An insistent knocking in your head is the first sign that of something different there, something not human. From the void you hear inside your skull. Sorry for the intrusion but I do not have much time and this is easier than trying to talk. My name is Illarion Matveius. I am one of the three black riders of Baba Yaga and last of the heralds. Listen please to what I tell you now so you know my story and can save your lands and mine.
A great problem has occurred that has not happened in thousands of years. Baba Yaga has not yet returned from her century long absence. I fear that her daughter Elvanna is responsible and trying to overthrow her mother. It is her that sent her emissaries to ambush me. the ice shard they used is a poison and curse to me and I know that I have mere minutes left. I beg of you, help me in my cause. Find Baba Yaga and fulfill my oath to her.

Venja |

"Why would they attack you? How do we find her and what is your oath that you ask us to fulfill? We must know such things to make any commitment. Our aims must coincide for us to make a promise to you and your cause..."
Venja speaks softly to the elderly man. Though she lacks any real skill in diplomacy unlike some others, the words just slip out. Having studied her witchcraft at first in the north, where she failed in her initial apprenticeship, she has heard at least the name Baba Yaga. She wracks her brain momentarily for tales she might have heard of her.

Gabryjel Kazimierz |

Gabryjel leans back against the cave wall, warming his hands on the fire which crackles and pops in the cave.
He listens to Venja's questions, and agrees with what she is asking, though for now he stays silent.
As the manacles are magically repelled by this creature, Gabryjel will reclaim them from Beck and put them back in his pack, but he gives the strange being a fairly wide berth, not wholly trusting it - especially as it has recently been identified as Fey; given the recent dealings they've had with Fey in general.
He has heard rumors and legends of someone called Baba Yaga before; but had known those stories as nothing but Fairy Tales in general.
He's seen men laying on the field, dying of their wounds... they always seemed to call for their gods, their mother, or water.
That said, he moves over and offers the creature a drink.
GM - missed your updated post from earlier about him being Fey. Does he have any unusual markings that we can tell he's Fey for sure? I mean, if we saw another being like him in the future, would we be able to say "Hmm... this guy is also Fey - it's clear because of X features that the last guy had" - I don't know, like pointed ears, or strange eyes, or blue hair or something like that? Okay, just curious. For now I'll have to leave this to the knowledge junkies.

Variel Whitestorm |

Variel seems struck out of his reverie by the voice inside his head. He had been a mostly silent observer except when he said the few sentences to Aneira and Gabe. Without hearing the conversations going on he was lost. It was amazing how much you relied upon hearing and took it for granted until you lost it.
Variel listened intently to the creature speak and tried to fill in what was missing. ?He saw the others ask questions but could not hear them stated so bided his time for the creature to respond again.

Turning again to speak at you all through the telepathy the herald responds, You have many questions and rightfully so, but I am short on time and can not give you the history over the last 1300 years for you to understand it all. Know this, Baba Yaga returns every 100 years to replace the queen of Irrisen. This time something happened and her three heralds, were alerted through magical wards set up centuries ago should this happen. We immediately started our search for BAba Yaga. However queen Elvana has been actively persueing us to thwart our attempts. My two brethren have been slain already by Elvana's assassins. I shall join them in the grave here soon. Before that happens though I must impart some knowledge to you so you may take up my mantle.
Queen Elvanna has implemented the portals to cover all of Golarion in ice and snow. Only by finding and freeing Baba Yaga can she be defeated and her plans completely destroyed. The portals can be closed but nothing short of Baba Yaga can prevent her from opening up others. To close this portal you must go through it to the other side and find the focus there. After that I beg of you to continue to find Baba Yaga. In order to do so you must free her Dancing Hut. With it you can travels the planes known and unknown if you know how to activate it. It currently resides in the capital of Irrisen, Whitethrone, but is useless without the proper keys. I have two of them that I stole from Elvanna but she deactivated them before I could reclaim them. I have the power to reactivate them but only if I know you will pledge yourselves to finish this quest. quickly I am fading fast, what is your answer?
There are three options before you...
Option 1: decline the herald and see what happens (not the best option story wise as Baba Yaga is never freed and Golarion soon becomes covered in ice.
Option 2: Accept the quest and pledge yourself to the cause. This has 2 results. First you get an untyped +2 bonus to 1 ability score of yourchoice. The downside is that you are under a modified geas compulsion that can only be removed by a limited wish, wish or miracle spell which removes the +2 ability bonus as well. Thus if you are not in some ways attempting to fulfill your quest you suffer the penalties of geas. This does not mean that you need to rush to wherever and fight heads on an entire army, you could spend a bit crafting weapons, armor, magic, to help you and justify that it is in the best interest to be fully prepared before you take on the next part of the quest. Further you are a servant of Baba Yaga allowing you to bypass certain wards like entering the Dancing Hut.
Option 3: You do not agree completely thus not gaining the +2 to an ability stat but neither do you suffer the consequences of the geas if you go against the quest. You gain the ally of Baby Yaga allowing most of the same benefits of a servant of Baba Yaga.
I am giving you this option now so you know the consequences of your choices and I want each to have their own individual choice. If you feel the geas is too railroady I understand but at least you know ahead of time.
Hopefully I answered your questions. If not sorry and ask again.

Variel Whitestorm |

Gabe the long post was from the hearld not from Variel. I just included Variel listening in and not asking questions and trying to figure the puzzle out before him since he couldn't hear the questions asked aloud. Sorry if it confused you.

Gabryjel Kazimierz |

I have the power to reactivate them but only if I know you will pledge yourselves to finish this quest. quickly I am fading fast, what is your answer?
Gabryjel hoists himself to his feet and moves over the Fey, looking down on him carefully; studying his face for truth - or lie.
When he is satisfied that the creature is being honest and begging a boon as his dying breath, he cocks his head as he faces the dying Fey.
"Good enough, I reckon," he says after a moment.
"I'll pitch in, if you need it," he says with a nod.
Gabryjel is taking the offer (number 2) - so long as we have time to prepare or craft things or rest a day or so in a town to get our bearings or get supplies - than I'm in.
Question: what happens if we're sick, wounded or captured? I mean, if we get a disease and need to rest for a few days to recover, that's not going to be a problem? I've seen what happens in a Geas spell gone wrong; so I'd rather be very sure on terms formally. Other than those things, I'm on board.
EDIT: GM - I just adjusted the last post after I saw the rider's response. It's all good, now :)

Venja |

Venja considers her options carefully and confers with Snow softly in Celestial before replying to the wounded Herald.
"I will take up your task and your quest, good herald. Hopefully my companions will do the same, but I can't speak for them."

Gabryjel Kazimierz |

"I will take up your task and your quest, good herald. Hopefully my companions will do the same, but I can't speak for them."
Gabryjel glances at Venja and nods as she, too, agrees.
"Well, that's two, then," he says to himself as he waits for the others to consider the options.
He watches the being under him, and his thoughts tack back to when he himself lay near death and was healed.
Perhaps the acceptance of this quest may give him peace.
Anyhow, I reckon I'm committed now...

Xanxan Gimblewabe |

"I'll not be taking oaths from others as my own, sorry. No chains on this gnome...but I'll still do my best to help, make no mistake there. If freeing Baba Yaga is the only way to save summer dresses, then that's what I'll do, but it will be because I WANT to. I already have my loyalties and I'll not be rearranging them no matter how dire things get."
Guess that means #3.

Gabryjel glances at Xanxan and nods at the gnome's prudence and caution.
He keeps his own thoughts to himself, but it is clear that he's happy that at least for now Xanxan will be coming with them.
More than that? Well, I guess we'll see...
Xanxan - by "#3" did you mean option 3, or did you mean you're formally the third member of the group that's committed to following this quest period? No worries, just curious...
GM - Gabryjel is still on board, but that's only if he can do the quest without having to worry about things like being delayed because of a disease/healing or an outside force. Other than that, I'll help out, though.

Variel Whitestorm |

Variel nods his head that he understands the responsibilities of what the man before him is talking about yet is hesitant as well. I see that in some ways we have no choice but to accept your plea. Not only will we be helping you but if what you say is correct, it is the only way to protect our homes and loved ones. Although I do not feel adequate to the task we are the only ones here to take on the mantle you are passing on. As long as we all continue together I am sure we can over come the obstacles before us. What about the rest of you? Anee, are you willing to continue on in this? i wish to but do not want to make the decision for the both of us. Too much is at stake for you and i so i wish to now your heart on this matter. Are you so inclined to agree and follow his quest?
taking option 2 and Xanxan I appreciate your candor and option to take option 3. That is the reason I wanted you to be able to make the choice for yourselves instead of MIT being forced upon someone.

Beck Tavis |

"Aye, If this girl is throwing things into chaos, she must be stopped, and I'll take yer pledge an' find the hut with me mates." It is beck's sacred duty as a Druid, to protect the natural order, and as the princess has thrown things awry and Baba Yaga does not, Beck will take her mantle.
Does Sheelah get affected by the Geas or no cause she is an animal?=P

Aneira Whitestorm |

Aneira listened to Illarion Matveius and his story of Baba Yaga and her daughter, Elvanna. She was unhappy with Elvanna's plan to shroud the entirety of Golarion in snow and ice and that she could open other portals if one was destroyed. When Variel posed the question to her, Aneira looked about the heavily snowed in woods, silently weighing the responsibilities and conditions that would be placed on her/them and then turned her eyes on Variel, speaking louder than usual so he would hear her, "I will join the group and take up Master Matveius' quest. Things must be restored to their natural order." She then turned her eyes on the dying man so he could see and hear her pledge.
Anee is taking option 2.

DM Variel |

Sorry Beck, Sheelah does not get the +2 bonus as well.
Illarion Matveius looks at the 5 gravely and nods his head. Very well. I accept your commitment to the cause of finding Baba Yaga and restoring you to her rightful place. Turning to Xanxan, Even you I thank for your willingness to help even if you may not align yourself directly to the cause.
Looking at the group as a whole again, Very well then, I will give to you the two inert keys that that I reclaimed. The first is a lock of white hair from a frost giant's beard. The second is a plague doctor's mask. These look normal to most but some can tell the latent magic within them. Protect them at all costs as they will enable you to use the dancing hut when you need it.
Thank you my friends. I can leave this existence now knowing that I have done all I can and be in peace. Go now and carry on my quest.
As he finishes speaking, Illarion Matveius grabs a small dagger from a sheath at his belt. bringing it up to his neck and smiling grimly at you, he slices his throat open. Blood gushes out from the wound in a burst powered by the exhaling dying breath of the rider. The blood lands on the 6 of you and the two keys. On everyone but Xanxan the blood soaks into your skin and vanishing without a trace. Immediately you sense the connection to Baba Yaga and the power it provides. On Xanxan the blood slowly drips off but not before leaving a faint mark like a birthmark on the right hand. The blood that landed on the two keys also is absorbed and those with magical inclination can almost feel the power coming from the mundane looking objects.
Those that chose option 2 get the bonus starting now. Please let me know what it is going into for my hero lab files. Thanks. Variel is taking strength by the way.

Venja |

Venja blinks in surprise as Matveius slices his own throat and jumps forward as if to try to stop him, but too little, too late. As she is drenched in blood which seems to disappear into her, she feels her intelligence soar to new heights and her mind open to new horizons.

Gabryjel Kazimierz |

Gabryjel looks at the others in shock at what happened, but says nothing.
He glances down the mark on his hand and scratches at a little, frowning at its sudden appearance.
Taking a cloth from the ground he stoops and gently covers the dead man's face with some respect, then leans back - considering what happened.
He looks around the cave, moving closer to the fire for warmth and thinks about what happened.
As he warms his hands by the fire he eventually looks up at his comrades.
"Right - so... it sounds like we got to go through this gods damned portal... But it's been a rough day of it. Maybe it'd be best to crash out first, then get a good start in the morning after healing up and so on?"
"This place seems the likeliest one to camp at - ya'll good at spending the night here, then stabbing through in the morning after the casters are prepped and everyone's had a good sleep?"
Doing what he can to get comfortable, he unfurls his gear and spreads it out by the fire but away from the mouth of the cave. He assumes that his companions are of like mind; but even they're eager to leave now, he himself doesn't feel it wise to push through a magical portal into unknown dangers until he is fully rested and at least healed of his wounds.
Glancing at Variel, he makes a comment from his place by the fire.
"Tomorrow - or whenever it is you're able to memorize spells - you mind recalling the one that lets you conjure up if things are magic or not? I'm curious to know if any of the crap I found earlier might be magic or just junk," he says, indicating the sack of things he had found earlier laying in pile near his pack.
He nods at the others; disappointed that none of the four casters have prepared the spell Detect Magic this day, but confident that at least one of them may prepare it the morning.
"If not, I'll just figure it ain't magical and keep it, as it's likely not worth much anyhow," he says with a shrug.
With little to do, Gabryjel will get as comfortable as he can and simply try to sleep. It's early enough that if we set up a watch cycle we should have time for all of us to get 8 hours of sleep and do a few hours of watch duty without stressing too much. If for any reason people are interested in doing social RP with Gabryjel, he's open to it. Meanwhile, I'll just get comfortable until we go through the portal.
+GM - 2 Bonus to Dexterity.

Xanxan Gimblewabe |

" Even you I thank for your willingness to help even if you may not align yourself directly to the cause."
"Oh, you're welcome." The gnome says amiably.
Then the fellow slits his own throat
"Well, I would normally call that over reacting..." The gnome states with some distress, then looks at the odd birthmark like design on his hand. "I hope this comes off eventually, though I'm sure it will have use."

Venja |

"I can detect magic if you want. What have you found?"

Aneira Whitestorm |

Gabe, the mark only appears on Xanxan's right hand (he's the only one who chose option 3).
Aneira watched the rider slash his throat, ending his life for good. The blood landed on her and then disappeared into her skin and she felt the power grow inside of her, deepening the force of her personality.
+2 bonus to Charisma.
To Gabe, she answers, "I have no issue with spending the night, here. We should provide some kind of burial for Illarion Matveius. It would not be right to leave his body like this."
Aneira also has detect magic.

Gabryjel Kazimierz |

Gabryjel looks at the two female in his company and grunts a bit, somewhat overawed by the growth of their power which manifests itself on them visibly before his eyes.
He nudges the sack that holds the remains of the gear to them, assuming that one of them will deduce what - if anything - may be magical in the sack.
From the GM - ]The two fey had diminutive shortswords and shortbows. Hommelstraub had a diminutive sickle and sling, potion of cure mod wounds, scroll (?), 1 thunderstone, a small mirror, and 96 gp in coins.
I'm betting that maybe the shortswords may be magical, or possibly some sort of MW weapon, but I'm not sure. I certainly don't know what the scroll is - but I'm assuming it's magical. I wrote the GM a question about how magical writing works in his game - but he didn't answer, so it's just a hunch on my part.
Gabryjel agrees with Aneira's idea of seeing to the body, but he knows that with the ground as cold as it is the wont' be able to dig a grave for him, unfortunately. He had covered the body, but beyond that - he didn't know what else to do.
"Maybe we bury him on the other side of the portal? Going through the portal - that's kind of our quest, so I reckon we need to stab through - we could maybe find a good place to bury him there?" he says, asking the group.
Garbryjel glances at the others from his place by the fire.
It's only been a few moments - but this whole encounter feels like days...
As he thinks about the body, and the endless winter that doesn't seem to thaw, he crosses his arms over his head and decides.
"Right - so here's the thing, I guess - I'm tired of waiting," he says eventually to the others.
"We got a quest laid on us, and it demands action - and piss on any who gets in the way, you know?"
"So I'm going to sleep - I'm getting my gods damned bed-rest. When I wake up I'm grabbing my gear and cut of the loot and I'm heading through the gods damned portal."
"I hope ya'll come with me; but let's do this, you know?"
He sighs, tired of the lack of action.
"I reckon I don't want to wait no more," he adds, speaking the last to himself.
Gabryjel will now sleep 8 hours. He'll recover the appropriate HP for that. In the morning he'll make his breakfast and gather his gear and head through the portal with his cut of his loot or gear, or whatever.
I'm hoping others will come with, but at this point I'm ready to go on.

Venja casts detect magic and examines the items that have been collected up by Gabe.

Gabryjel Kazimierz |

Venja casts detect magic and examines the items that have been collected up by Gabe.
Gabryjel turns to Venja and grins at her spell.
"Nice work - let me know if anything's worth it, okay?" he says to her with a casual voice.
As he watches the spell then continues to stare at the stony underside of the cave he considers options.
"Thanks for casting the spell," he adds.

Venja |

"My pleasure, Gabe. I have few talents, it gladdens me to share those I can."
