Cleo: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Aggah: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
The floor and walls of this musty-smelling chamber are covered with matted, wiry fur. Well-gnawed bones lie scattered about the floor, and a dozen wooden stakes have been driven into the ground near the walls. Sleeping while bound to their posts lie four goblin dogs.

I could try to gut them while they sleep. Maria whispers to her companions.
| Cleo Gingerberry |
Cleo tells you see has a calm animals spell to make them docile. If it starts to go badly.
Maria the Great
|
Maria nods creeping towards the goblin dogs with her dagger pulled. Stealth: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25 So apparently my character sheet is only partially working and is not including the +3 from stealth being a class skill. I'm going to have to rebuild at least the skills on a new sheet and check everything else out. Sigh
| Cleo Gingerberry |
Cleo waits with Aggah, patting her on the back to hopefully ease any fear or anxiety she might be feeling.

Grunyar perks up, eager to stave off the boredom. "Couldn't tell ya lad, don't think either of us have been here before, eh?" He looks up at Shalelu for an answer, and she shakes her head. "It's too dangerous to scout this place by one's self," she responds. "There's no maneuverability here, and the goblins can potentially come from any direction. This is the reason why the Thistletop goblins are always the most powerful tribe. They've made their stronghold nearly unassailable. There is no goblin tribe capable of overrunning the place, since they can only go in one at a time. The only ones who might be able to are the Licktoad tribe with their magic and alchemy, but they're on the complete opposite side of Sandpoint."

Coup De Grace: 2d4 + 6 + 2d6 ⇒ (2, 4) + 6 + (4, 2) = 18 Well I'll be damned I did it again.
Coup De Grace: 2d4 + 6 + 2d6 ⇒ (4, 1) + 6 + (4, 3) = 18 The f@+&?
Maria quickly steps between the remaining two dogs and slashes their throats.

Fine, just hold back a little more. Maria creeps forward. Stealth: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
From what Maria can see of C6:
- A cloying musky scent lies heavy in the air here. A matted nest of red and black hair sits to the east.
C9:
- A good 60 feet in the distance, Maria makes out what she thinks is a rope bridge! Could this be the exit?
Maria the Great

Maria creeps towards the nest to examine it. Stealth: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25

Maria slightly waves Furnok away and begins to slowly back away from the animal.
| Cleo Gingerberry |
If Cleo has time and actually notices this she will cast calm animal.

She doesn't know yet, but either Maria will tell her, or she could stumble upon the creature herself! Mmm halfling. Yum yum
Luck: 1d20 ⇒ 19
Maria successfully backs out of the creature's "den" or "lair". Now that she knows exactly where it is, all she can focus on are the two yellow eyes that follow her wherever she goes.
| Cleo Gingerberry |
LOL! No! Halflings taste horrible leave us alone!
| DM TreasureFox |
"Uhhhhhh Goblins?" replies Grunyar.
Shalelu shakes her head. "In this part of the Nettlewood, just about anything could live here, though it would have to be small enough to fit through the tunnels. Honestly, even humans could live here. Think about it, you have very good protection from the elements, a secure environment to stay safe from most predators, and plenty of territory for both hunting and fishing. What's more, anyone who wanted to attack you either has to scurry through the tunnels, or climb up the cliff side. So right now it might belong to goblins, but as circumstances change we could see hermits, druids, bandits, boars, cougars, wolves, gnolls, kobolds, and much more. When you can live several human generations, nothing really seems permanent."
Maria the Great

Maria moves back towards the goblin dogs. I've got an idea. She takes her dagger and starts to cut meat from the monsters.
Cleo, could you grab the others?
Maria the Great
|
Get another. I want that thing well fed.

Just North from Vandra is a thorny vine that looks different from any other. It has leaves shaped like hands, and slithers like a snake.
Just as Ali says that, all the thorny vines (including the ones above) spring into action and try to scoop up the entire group! Ali and Jeaux are lifted up into the ceiling above while Helgarr is pulled back into the wall! Ali and Helgarr take 1 damage, and Jeaux takes 2.

Shalelu flip over the grasping vines and looks around for the perpetrator. She points over to just North of Vandra and yells "Weird snake or vine thing!" She draws and fires an arrow, but nearly shoots Vandra! Speaking of which, the vine thing lashes out at Vandra and nearly whips his face!
Everyone's turn
Vandra Geaux
|
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Turning and twisting wildly, Vandra was barely able to escape the grasping thorn vines before an arrow whipped by his face. "What? Where?!" he asked in panicked confusion as his mother and others were hoisted onto various surfaces. Unsure what to do, he cast the first spell that came to mind. With a burst of energy, Shalelu, Grunyar, and Helgarr found their bodies moving with surprising speed.
Cast Haste, targeting Shalelu, Grunyar, and Helgarr. Extra attack with a full attack, +1 attack, dodge bonus, and Reflex saves, and movement speed increased by 30' up to their base speed for 3 rounds.
Jeaux, feeling herself pulled upwards and the thorns digging into her flesh, started struggling to escape the trap.
What do we use to get out of the vines?
| DM TreasureFox |
You can use quite a variety of tactics. The first few things that come to mine are: An escape artist check, a strength check, hacking with a bladed weapon, and poring acid. These will all be full-round actions.
AoO: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

As Vandra casts his magic, another vine whips out at him. Fortunately, it misses.
Everyone looking can now spot the vine/plant/snake thing. Since it has thrashed out twice.

It was a good idea, but not quite good enough. The feline gets up and roars at Furnok, getting ready to protect it's domain.
Furnok: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Feline: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Feline Intimidate: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (8) - 2 = 6
Map updated, Furnok goes first. Anyone else who wants to participate can come in after the feline's turn.
