The prone warrior goblin stands little chance, as Helgarr slices right through it's neck and out the other side as she continues the stroke towards the red cloaked goblin. The red cloak leaps up and over the glaive with its surprising agility, and in doing so dodges Cleo's arrow in the process. Furnok steps up to the plate and bats a good one across Ripnugget's chest, winding him. Vandra casts detect magic and spies magic throughout Ripnugget's sword, but none is emanating from the red cloaked goblin at the moment.
The red cloaked goblin sneers as it dodges Cleo's arrow, but is shocked to suddenly notice two large arrows sticking out of his torso. It looks up at Shalelu standing upon the tower in the distance, points to her, and then collapses dead. At the same time, Grunyar pushes forwards and hacks right into the breach in armor that Furnok created seconds ago. Through it he cleaves Ripnugget in half. The goblin warlord barely has a moment to scream in terror before it was all over. Then the wolves and Tangletooth pounce in to take care of the giant gecko.
As you take a deep breath and relax, you hear a new battlecry coming from behind. From the main entrance, three goblins riding goblin dogs begin to charge in your direction.
Everyone's turn. Didn't mean to suddenly kill them all with NPCs. I'm just following the dice.
Shalelu bow1: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (8) + 14 = 22
Dmg: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

dmg: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Cleo Gingerberry |
Cleo will call out as loud as she can in goblin STOP! Please. Ripnugget is dead. Grunyar is in charge now and is working with US! Quit fighting. Join Gruynar or leave, and no one else needs to die!
diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Cleo Gingerberry |
LOL, I'm an idiot. Gormurt, I mean. All those G names blend in my head.
DM TreasureFox |
LOL, I'm an idiot. Gormurt, I mean. All those G names blend in my head.
Gogmurt?
In our next adventure, the goblin tribe shall be run by a dwarf. Well, points for uniqueness.
The goblin riders each slow down their charge until they've stopped. They look from one to the other, and ask each other what to do. After a moment, they lower their weapons and say in Goblin "Chief Gogmurt."
All of a sudden there is a loud clunk sound like that of wood, followed by a goblin cry. "Pickles!!" It would seem Aggah has broken through into the larder.
Cleo Gingerberry |
Huh... that actually worked. she smiles a little tired. Then will do a burst of healing energy for any injured.
channel: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 5) = 10
Maria the Great |
Maria remains distrustful and keeps her dagger in hand. [b]Well that was anticlimactic.
Cleo Gingerberry |
We're alive Maria, that's more important... plus isn't there the "longshanks" to deal with? Gogmurt copy and paste for the win Where are they and the bugbear you mentioned
Alandrian Verium |
"Alive and well, mostly. Pity Azeri ain't here to see it!" Ali sighed but shrugged, sheathing his blade and returning to pick up his crossbow.
"Aye. We have some of our larger sized friends to deal with now!"
DM TreasureFox |
Vandra notices that Ripnugget's sword is a +1 short sword. It used to have more magic attached to it, evil in nature, but all that remain are little traces of profane magic.
One of the goblindog riding goblins asks Gogmurt in Goblin: "Chief Gogmurt, witch doctor, can trust Longshanks?"
"Longshanks hate Ripnugget and Ripnugget's Longshank friends. Make new tribe, Gogmurt will, yes. Speak careful, rider, Longshanks speak Goblin too."
In answering Cleo, the goblin druid answers in Common "Below. Rooms of solid stone."

Cleo Gingerberry |
Well the shortsword and masterwork dagger would work for her, if no one objects. I'd imagine we'll need to cart whatever we want to keep with us. Goblins being Goblins and all, nothing we don't, might not be here when we get back :)
Cleo will wave at the other goblins, and then say in goblin We need not kill each other, but we will protect ourselves and our town. she'll gesture to the fallen king and his court as evidence of that, not that she hit anything, but TEAM! Thank you Gogmurt for your help. I believe your new tribe will find the balance nature needs. she winces at her own cheese.
Cleo likes the idea of a sword once evil, now being redeemed, and will slip it and a dagger in her belt.
She'll also wander around to make sure no one else is wounded. Seeing Helgarr a little battered she'll cast cure light wounds spontaneous casting, converting the remaining bless.
clw: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Where to now? she looks to the others.
Cleo Gingerberry |
Nevermind. Herolab reminds me that clerics can't use shortswords. She'll carry it but add it to group sellable loot.
Helgarr |
Helgarr seems a mite loss among so many goblins, but she tries to remain composed, as her companions seem to be doing the same, smiling at the sight of Cleo with a sword and dagger at her belt - "They befit you Cleo"
The healing magic simply makes her smile wider - "Thank you my friend"
Cleo Gingerberry |
I don't know about this one Cleo wags the short sword around clumsily. the extra length or something just doesn't let me stab right. she shrugs. Do we head downstairs or finish looking around up here?
Helgarr |
I don't know about this one Cleo wags the short sword around clumsily. the extra length or something just doesn't let me stab right. she shrugs. Do we head downstairs or finish looking around up here?
"Tis but a matter of practice - I can help you" - the barbarian nods - "As for the... 'Situation' here? We will leave it as is? You feel safe no more hostility will be forthcoming?"
Downstairs I reckon, seems the new chief will want to set up shop
"Exactly my point - we will impose no conditions on it?"
Cleo Gingerberry |
We did, didn't we? No more attacking the town or travelers. If they don't abide by that we'll have to come back. What else would you have us do?
DM TreasureFox |
Gogmurt responds in Common "Below is Bruthazmus and evil Longshanks. You Humans go down and kill them. Goblins stay here and build new tribe. Gogmurt tribe no longer attack Longshanks. Take Aggah with. Gogmurt no want worshipper of wicked mother."
Pointing to the loot, he says "Take what Human wants. Leave rest for new tribe. Gogmurt need weapons and armor against other Goblin tribes. New tribe small now, so Mosswoods or Seven Tooths might attack."
Alandrian Verium |
"We could install a handsome young Mage and his big talking Bear Companion as King here to keep an eye on things. Bandit King. I MEAN REGULAR KING!" Ali began to chuckle nervously.
DM TreasureFox |
In regards to gaining proficiency with a weapon, I'd say... perhaps a week of downtime where you spend 8 hours a day practicing with the weapon alongside an instructor? Or a week of regular adventuring where you fight with the weapon despite lack of proficiency. That second option is subject to DM discretion, since it would depend on how much combat, along with how often you actually use the weapon. Does that sound reasonable?
Cleo Gingerberry |
Sounds great, I assumed it would require a feat, which probably meant she'd never get it, too few feats in life :) so Thanks! She'll just train bits here and there with Helgarr
All Hail, King Ali! Cleo will join the fun. She'll curtsy Do I have a place in your court good sir
Cleo worries about Aggah, but knows she'll be better off than in the town. And maybe she'll be able to visit.
When the others are ready, Lead the way Furnok
DM TreasureFox |
I do plan on giving you some downtime in the near(ish) future. Not sure how much yet. Also, I meant that Gogmurt wants you to take Aggah with you. He doesn't want her.
Also note that Gogmurt wants you to take whatever loot you want, but leave the rest for him and his goblins. Make sure to say what you take with you. I know that Cleo has the +1 short sword and the mwk dagger.
Cleo Gingerberry |
Ahh... missed that. Cleo will go retrieve Aggah from the pickles
Cleo Gingerberry |
Yes sir. Cleo will pocket the potions and wand, along with the key ring. Plus give Aggah the masterwork dogslicer, if she wants it. No unholy symbols though!
Helgarr |
Apologies for the retcon but...
We did, didn't we? No more attacking the town or travelers. If they don't abide by that we'll have to come back. What else would you have us do?
"Well, if they intend to make peace, I would expect they would want to send a representative or representatives to Sandpoint, and make sure they inform the authorities of exactly that - perhaps establish some sort of agreement?" - Helgarr shrugs - "In my tribe we would demand maybe a tithe to allow them to occupy these lands, or some form of retribution for the attacks on the town"
Definitely grab the pots and wand, and perhaps someone could roll Spellcraft on them?
------
"Downstairs it is then"
Vandra Geaux |
Don't really need any of the weapons, and Jeaux already has a set of Masterwork Studded Leather. Will try to identify the wand.
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (11) + 13 = 24
As people started to dive into the equipment left by the dead goblins, Vandra took a look at the wand, hoping to find a good use for it.
DM TreasureFox |
Vandra recognizes the wand as a wand of detect secret doors. It's been used up for the most part and only contains 5 charges.
Cleo goes to retrieve Aggah from the pickles. Apart from the ruined barrel of pickles, she's surprised to see that the food is actually well kept and perhaps even organized. She does note however that all of the food is human or halfling made, perhaps taken from travelling merchants. Aggah is especially surprised to see Cleo present her with the dogslicer. She swishes it around a little bit before nodding and saying in Goblin "Aggah help fight now, yes?"
All aboard for going downstairs? Will move along by the end of today.
Cleo Gingerberry |
Yes Aggah, you help fight now. Cleo is ready to follow.
Maria the Great |
Maria sneaks forward ready to scout. Stealth: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
DM TreasureFox |
Maria sneaks down the stairs under Thistletop. A single lantern hangs from a hook on the wall next to where the stairs enter this room from the north. Several rickety doors open into this room, and a few discarded dog pelt rugs lie forgotten in the northeast corner.
New map available
Cleo Gingerberry |
Smells... um... musty. turning to Aggah Do you know where the longshanks are?
DM TreasureFox |
"Huh. They changed room." Aggah says, in Goblin. "Used to be eating room with big table."
She then goes to each door and describes what lies beyond it.
Going clockwise:
West: "Loot room"
South West: "Baby room"
South: "Bed rooms"
South East: "Sex room"
East: "Jail"
North East: "Hallway to lotsa stuffs"
Cleo Gingerberry |
Cleo cringes at the thought of goblin babies, and even more at the sex room. As always she'll wait for one of the others to pick.
