Ali moves up to Helgarr and casts mage armor on her. Maria shoots a goblin in the eye with her shortbow. Furnok slices through a goblin's neck, while Helgarr opens another door for a flanking position.

Grunyar casts a spell and begins speaking in a language that only Cleo can comprehend. "Right you two, go around the corner an kill all the goblins ye can see! Oh except the one we've been travelin with!" The two wolves growl and bark, then race around the corner until they get to Furnok.

After Ali casts his spell, he notices Gogmurt come up behind him with the 10 birdcrunchers. "Started without us, you did." He says, grinning. "Good." Tangletooth comes back to his side.

Back at the courtyard, Ripnugget mounts his giant gecko and takes out a signal horn. He bellows out a single long note. The singing goblin takes up a new tune, which is close to just high pitch screaming. The little goblin warriors race towards Furnok, but he decapitates two of them with a single swipe! Two more goblins rush in, but one of them trips while trying to strike, while the other barely nicks Furnok's leg. Furnok takes 4 damage

The red cloaked goblin's eyes glow yellow as he begins casting a spell. Helgarr feels weary for a moment, but then shakes it off!

Shalelu bolts up the stairs of the tower, and through the trap door.

Cleo will cast protection from evil (communal), rushing forward as fast as her little legs will let her, touching Maria and Vandra as she goes, and Furnok at last, realizing she's a bit close to angry goblins just a little too late.

level 3 gives 3 minutes, communal lets her divide it up into 1 minute intervals, so casting on Furnok, Vandra, and Maria

As Cleo and Vandra cast their protective magic, Furnok draws a closer range weapon and smashes another goblin's head in. The other goblin gets a chance to attack, but is just too shaken by the might that is Furnok. Jeaux also hops into the fight alongside Furnok, but her glaive doesn't quite meet the mark. Helgarr charges into the fray against the red cloaked goblin, but it easily sidesteps the blow. From behind, Ali shoots a bolt at Ripnugget, but it misses wildly. One of the wolves jumps right over Cleo's head and snaps at the nearby goblin without managing to seek it's teeth in. The other wolf runs past and attacks the singing (shrieking) goblin. It's teeth meet their mark and it shoves the goblin to the ground. Meanwhile, Grunyar hefts his axe and charges forward in a blinding rage much like Helgarr. He goes for the goblin with the rusted breastplate, and despite it looking to be an exceptional attack, the goblin manages to stop it with it's shield!

Gogmurt steps forward where he can see Ripnugget. He yells out "Over it is, Ripnugget! Your evil worship dies with you, and Gogmurt will lead the Thistletops! Birdcrunchers! Kill all Thistletops that not join me! Go!!"

Ripnugget casts a spell and turns his mount to run. However, he turns suddenly to build speed and charges at Grunyar. For a short sword, Ripnugget's attack slices surprisingly deep. In addition, the armored goblin also strikes Grunyar with it's sword. The red cloaked goblin decides to dance with Helgarr. It easily feints around Helgarr's attacks, and sinks both dagger and dogslicer into her legs!

The goblin in front of Furnok suddenly dies. An arrow is protruding from it's skull. A second arrow also strikes the singing goblin, but it doesn't look lethal.

Ripnugget watches his life flash before his eyes as Furnok runs up to deliver a brutal strike. However, just as he's about to get hit, the warrior jumps in the way, and blocks Furnok with his shield! At the same time, a random arrow whizzes past them all, about 3 feet high of anyone.

Although last time the red cloaked goblin sidestepped Helgarr's ranseur with ease, this time he was not so lucky. He tries to jump over a horizontal sweep, but doesn't quite make it. Helgarr slices his midsection and blood sprays. He's still alive and moving, but he clutches his side in agony. He's badly wounded.

Maria's arrow bounces off Ripnugget's armor. Ali fires his crossbow but misses while Vandra and Jeaux head up the tower to grab some javelins. Shalelu finishes off the warchanter, but her second arrow clangs off Ripnugget's armor. Grunyar may be raging, but his powerful attacks just aren't connecting. The wolves close in around Ripnugget, but can't quite get their teeth into anything. Gogmurt fires an arc of fire from his wand that catches the cheek of Ripnugget. Tangletooth charges headlong into the giant gecko, but Ripnugget fends the cougar off with his sword.

Ripnugget backs off slightly and enchants his blade to glow a hot blue color. Then he slashes across the side to one of the wolves, which makes a grievous cut along it's side. The warrior covers his chief by stepping in and delivering a slash as well, but misses. The red cloaked goblin takes a step back and casts a spell. All of a sudden, he vanishes.

Ali finds himself stuck in a cluster of Birdcruncher goblins. However, he can just barely see through the door to spot the enemy goblins. He makes a safe shot to assure the security of his allies, but in the process the loosed bolt merely darts past the goblin, rather than hitting it.

Another of Maria's shots fly wild in the melee, but Shalelu is slightly luckier, landing a low impact missile into Ripnugget's collarbone. Meanwhile, Grunyar, one of his wolves, and Tangletooth all team up on the warrior who suffers a huge cleave against his torso and gets knocked to the ground. Though badly wounded, he's not out of the fight yet.

The door behind Ripnugget conspicuously opens, revealing a short hallway straight ahead. The red cloaked goblin reappears shortly thereafter, standing just next to the door. Ripnugget sees this and moves his gecko back a few steps to start retreating, though he spends a moment to slash at the nearby wolf, cutting deeply into it's hide. The warrior tries to stand up, but is nowhere near nimble enough to do so without error. Furnok and Helgarr may make an AoO against him

Bah, I knew he would use mounted combat to deny my attack - my group has been fighting two riders on drakes in another game, and that ride roll to avoid damage is just unbelievable. Even more so because it is easy to have a good Ride skill :P

Tried making a Roc riding Sacred Huntsmaster Inquisitor recently, but the GM shot down my idea :(
