Pfft, if you have a big adamantine spike, there're only a few locks that you won't be able to open somehow.

Correct. I've had the pleasure of learning that doors (and locks) are only deterrents at most. They stand no chance against the persistent and creative adventurer.

Cleo Gingerberry |

Human sized tower shield could be used an improvised shelter for Cleo or Wabbit!

Cleo Gingerberry |

I don't know how far you all fell, but I am pretty sure 30 feet is not enough. Is there any other rope or anything in the supplies? Furnock might be able to carry Wabbit with the levitation spell.

Kemras Iuvescanu |

I can cast cat's grace on two others so that they can be sneakier.

DM TreasureFox |

Hello everyone, I have an opening in a game I'm playing in, and I wanted to let you know if you'd like to join. We're looking for a character who can do stuff with locks and traps. The game we're in is set in an industrial Golarion, within either Katapesh or Jalmeray. We're working for a trading company that has outposts throughout Golarion and multiple other planes/planets. Commonplace guns, background skills, and automatic bonus progression. It's a fairly slow and relaxed game with good roleplay.

Kemras Iuvescanu |

I'm afraid a couple things have come up, and I'm not able to post either today or tomorrow. Apologies for the short notice.

Kemras Iuvescanu |

I have some, but Kemras is pretty sure that Cleo's dispel magic will do more.

Hello Everybody. Just checking in and saying hi to all my old friends. Having fun?

Cleo Gingerberry |

Crap, completely missed responding sir. Busy, massively so, so more scattered than normal. How are you doing?

Wabbit the Paladin of Chaldira |

Hello Everybody. Just checking in and saying hi to all my old friends. Having fun?
Hope things are well with you Janis.

Can't complain. Got two games going on and about to start running Starfinder. Nephew is interested in running games and may start a 2e campaig and so far prefers modules.

DM TreasureFox |

Hey Janis. Good luck with your Starfinder game.
Yeah I'm enjoying it. Fort Rannick is taking a long time, but it is what it is. Unfortunately I'm not in the habit of taking things OUT of the book (and not putting anything else in).
I've got 2 real life games that I'm running, one in person (1 pathfinder and 1 5e). I started streaming on twitch just last week. I'm slowly working on running yet another in-person game. Apparently I don't know when to stop.

DM TreasureFox |

I think this is the first time it's come up, but I do want to mention acceleration for giants and ogres.
When a giant or an ogre hustles (double move) or runs, their movespeed increases. At first, their speed is around 30, but next round it's 60, and the round after that is 90. It caps at x3. This represents the creatures being very fast, but it takes a while to build up to that speed.
You may be thinking "how is that fair?"
Well here are a few conditions:
- They need to be moving in a straight line. This does not work well for turning corners.
- There can't be difficult terrain
- They have to intentionally decelerate
- If they try to do anything against the previous 3 points, it's an acrobatics check. Failure usually involves falling prone (which is very bad for giants), and taking damage.
Note: They can run into you. Be careful. And if they're accelerating, their first melee attack deals extra damage. The extra damage is +1d6 per 20ft over their usual movespeed.

Janis "The Gentleman" Scarnetti |

Also started crafting terrain. Nothing fancy. Look up Terraino

Kemras Iuvescanu |

Sorry, I'll get a post up tomorrow.

Kemras Iuvescanu |

I'll try getting a post up tomorrow, but it's a bit of a busy day.

Kemras Iuvescanu |

In three levels, Kemras will become immune to curses entirely, but even before then he's got a +6 bonus against them, hence his mention of curses. The other effects are good, though.

Cleo Gingerberry |

Christmas time is slow for all of us usually. Hope all is okay with everyone. Happy whatever you celebrate!

DM TreasureFox |

Hi guys. I'm so very sorry about this major delay. I'm happy, I'm healthy, I'm so very overwhelmed. I have new friends, new romance, constant changing of my decisions for a professional life. I finally got sponsored for my disabilities through the government, which covers my expensive medication and more. It's just so much.
I'm really trying to think hard about how this game will continue. I would like it to continue. I would like to finish some time this decade. I'm not sure how. I think I need to seriously re evaluate how to organise and run this game, and let got of previous beliefs around how to run in PBP.
You guys are in my thoughts, and you're welcome to make suggestions and leave comments here. We will continue, in the very near future, but I don't feel confident on promising a time at this moment.
I hope you're all doing well.

Kemras Iuvescanu |

Glad to hear things are going well for you, DM!

Cleo Gingerberry |

Already screamed (happily) your name in another game so just a happy, subdued, WOOHOO! here... :)

Wabbit the Paladin of Chaldira |

Happy new year to everyone!
@Fox sounds like good exciting changes. Happy for you and please take all the time you need. We'll be here whenever you're ready, no rush

DM TreasureFox |

Hello guys, I'm so very sorry for this incredibly long wait. I won't say that I'm back yet, but I hope to show up again soon.
Everything is going well on my end. I'm just still quite overwhelmed and I end up putting this on the back burner. Days turn to weeks, you know the drill. Thanks for being patient with me.

Wabbit the Paladin of Chaldira |

"Side note to Wabbit: I'm not sure why you rolled concealment, since incorporeal creatures don't have a miss chance. The only reason why I'd expect miss chances is due to light, but your ioun stone takes care of that."
My bad. I played in a campaign that houseruled incorporeals having a 50% miss chance unless the weapon had ghost touch. I mistakenly applied that thinking here.

Cleo Gingerberry |

Cleo wonders what she did to deserve a pat. Then frets thinking her hair had been sticking up.

Cleo Gingerberry |

Hopefully still for very happy reasons

Kemras Iuvescanu |

Indeed.

DM TreasureFox |

Oh shoot, how long was I out for?
I'm sorry everyone. No great excuses here.
Warning: Maybe you don't want to know personal details about your GM's life. I don't think I have anything tooooo shocking, but consider that I'm very much a flawed human being with his own life in some frozen wasteland of a country.
- I'm on different ADHD meds now. I'm not convinced they're great
- My girlfriend left. It wasn't actually all that hard on me, because I knew it was going to be temporary and the time was coming up. She lived out of town, and between heavy Canadian snowfall and increasing gas prices, it was pretty much doomed.
- My other girlfriend (I had two, they both knew about it way ahead of time, it was all between consenting adults) and I are doing pretty darn well. I did put my foot in my mouth a few days ago, but we were able to repair pretty quickly and spend some really good days together.
- I butted heads with one of my real-life players and it has not gone well and things have not been resolved yet.
- I've watched every nature documentary I can find about jaguars, leopard, tigers, and other big (and small) cats. This was because I was running a dnd session that involved big cats. I have lots of cat fun facts if you're interested.
- I've been low-key obsessed with observing the Ukrainian war
- I have no clean laundry at all. If I spill something on this pair of sweatpants, I will have to resort to boxers.
- I play a ton of Heroes of the Storm. I didn't think my obsession would last so long. It's been going for about two months now. My favourites are Sgt. Hammer, Fenix, Tychus, Zagara, Junkrat, Murky, Leoric, and I'm working on Tassadar at the moment and enjoying it.
I'm doing well with my family, my pets, my income, my in-person games. I'm healthy (I narrowly dodged getting covid). I have a lot of people who care about me. I would say I'm overall doing pretty darn well, with a few bumps here are there. I would like to be able to concentrate on one thing for longer than 15 seconds < but > less than 40 hours.
If you happen to have me (as a GM or player) in one of your other games, please feel free to give them the gist of what's going on. I might do something incremental like one post a week per game just to get back into the flow. I'm still trying, but I get distracted / overwhelmed and lose the momentum really fast. And of course if anyone wants to leave or remove me from a game, I fully understand and respect the decision.
I hope you are all well in your own lives. If you want to be friends on facebook or discord to help prod me, I'm down for that. Otherwise, I hope to post in the games really really soon.
With love,
- Treasurefox

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

I know how it feels to be overwhelmed with everything. So I hope everything goes well and life calms down a bit for you, Treasurefox.

Cleo Gingerberry |

Excellent run down :)

Wabbit the Paladin of Chaldira |

We appreciate you. The disappearing forever thing sounds ominous :(
Life takes priority over this silly game we play here ;)
Small request. If you ever do need to disappear long-term, please let us know, rather than fading into the ether as so frequently happens here. No explanation needed or requested. Simply "guys/gals it's been fun, but I'm done cya"
