While I'm a big supporter of the strategy to 'nuke them from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.' I (the player) haven't given up hope that we can't turn the tide. Maybe in a round or two, if things look hopeless.
Sir Gareth would certainly never support torching the mill, period. For a great many reasons.
cheers

And so it is that Prince Conner turns to a sturdy little droid app, sending it looking to deliver a message...
Help me Obiwan Xavorin, your our only hope
The votes are two in favor of torching the mill, one vote against, D'witt and Carlson have not formally committed.
I will check back after my dinner engagement and we will begin our own Episode IV, A New Mill for Hommlet...
We kinda have had three others thus far...
Episode I: Your Phantasmal Nightmare
Episode II: Attack of the Doppelgangers
Episode III: Revenge of the Cult
Here's hoping we get to Episode V The Players Strike Back

I have updated Mill Round 1 .
I randomly determined where the Halfling landed, and it turns out Angel can take an AoO against either the Halfling or Jaroo as he rides past.
The party recognizes the two men in the webbed doorway, or rather what remains of the webbed doorway, they were both in the Inn for the morning meal, the monk who had been with the now large man, and the Garundi that was eating in the corner, annoyed by Meridosen. Both are now on the ground, still covered in the webbing, but it will be easier for the others to come streaming out now.
No one recognizes anyone else that has shown themselves, at this point.
DM Kalizar
That makes four votes in favor, one opposed, one abstention for nuking the mill. If Xavorin does not blast it, perhaps Angel can use an alchemist's fire on the duo in the doorway, igniting the webs and mill in one fell swoop. Might want to take a 5' step, to keep the half orc from swinging in response.

I dunno, it really does seem like they are trying to get away, with all of the riding off and running. And if the fake Jaroo gets away... well then that just gives us a recoccurring antagonist to go up against. Hopefully when his level 9 rogue and level 6+ sorcerer friends aren't waylaying us after we're already wounded.
Also it's going to be a lot harder to get the community back on our side if we burn down the mill. Though that could make things more fun.
Edit: aaand right after I post that angel tosses the fire. This will be interesting :P
Angel Dawnstar
The mill was forfeit as soon as it became a base of opps for super evil plans.. It wouldn't be my first choice to burn it, but its not like we had a lot of options..

View of the "Exploded" Map Round 1
Ready for round two submissions, after Round 1 saves of course for those still pending.
DM Kalizar
I posted here warning of the rough formula I would use for the conditions inside the mill. The alchemist fire, pitched in the doorway, did the 1 point of damage in an area effect that set off the explosion. Angel rolled the damages herself. I allowed the exterior blast to be half that of the interior conflagration, with no continued burning, and did not include shrapnel effects from the walls or second floor detonation.

Conner i had to laugh at your "Doom This"... Very Funny.. Although i really wish the rolls would start going better for us.. It seems we all are failing saves and sucking at attack rolls..
Angel Dawnstar
I think if Angel kicks the bucket ill make a full divine caster, so we have something besides a secondary healer.. Ive played a similar all dps/heal with wands group in The Age of Worms camp and while effective we had alot of pc deaths and even more times when we had to run.. A full on healer changes all of this, so ill bite the bullet and make one if things go bad here.. That said i really like Angel, so someone heal her! lol..

Does yalls campaigns page not update to show new post sometimes? Mine does it all the time so was just wondering if im doing something wrong..

Mine updates. But I've heard of other players with that problem.
DM Kalizar
Mine updates fairly for the most part, except that I have been overworked and experiencing part of the connection issues that have plagued West Virginia of late.
Map updated and it appears the priest may be summoning up negative energy, perhaps to release in a harmful burst like good clerics do for a healing burst.

Man what a bad call on tossing that alchy fire.. In retro Angel would not have done something so stupid as blow herself up..
Angel Dawnstar
Question Kalizar, Hero's Defiance says its used when you reach 0 or below.. Angel is technically at 0, (-3 is her 0 with the trait boon) so could she possibly activate it if she takes any other damage?

It seemed to me a really chaotic action to take, which is why I thought my character would be fully against it.
Hopefully live and learn...
Angel Dawnstar
Yea ur right, but facing so much i thought it best to think logical, not morally.. Perhaps she'll atone if she makes it threw all this.. At the time i didnt think the fireball would get her too..
Angel Dawnstar
Its up to the people standing.. I personally think we all die if you drop your weapons.. Hard to believe that noone in this town will help against the monsters that tried to destroy it..
Angel Dawnstar
Yea, that's possibly why the 2 rogues and the monster guy hasn't murdered everyone yet.. I think we all die if this continues so do what yall need too.. Don't throw em into the river though lol, just toss em close if your gonna..
D'witt Hirshue
I would like to apologize now if I get someone killed. Here's to hoping no one will want to chance it after the display of that last shot.
I seriously considered taking two-weapon, but I need a free hand to reload. Tho, if my tail could twist the barrel... :p
DM Kalizar
Hmmm, how do I play this out? Both "Father" Caller and the Halfling had held actions to attack at the first sign of trouble? Would D'witt's actions count as such, do you think?
I had expected Xavorin to have chimed in here, but he has not. I will assume he held his action, awaiting the party's decision.
DM Kalizar
Anyone of a class that has cure light wounds on it's spell list, even if they cannot cast the spell or spells currently, can use the wand. This would be Angel, D'witt, and Sir Gareth. Conner gave up his spell use as part of his modified class, so cannot use the spell trigger wand.
Does anyone not on the list have the skill Use Magic Device, to attempt to imitate the ability and fumble through the activation process?
DM Kalizar
Not that I have a vote in the matter, I think perhaps it would be best to hold off rushing after the priest and cohorts blindly into the night.
I would also refrain from using up a resource as important as the wand, perhaps needlessly. The two remaining priests in Hommlet should be able to heal the party up well enough, either this night or in the morning, and should you be diplomatic and respectful, would probably do so without charge. Plus, Carlson would be left behind as he is still technically under arrest.
While I try not to railroad players, and tell me if you feel I ever am, I would be remiss if I didn't try to stop a train wreck in the making. You identified two powerful thieves, a priest, and his henchmen, who have, for the moment, escaped you. Running into the night in the direction of the hunting grounds of a dragon, an evil cult, and who knows what else may be, well, somewhat dangerous, especially with your currently depleted resources. Plus, there is information the town has that may be useful. The leaders were in a secret meeting, after all.
The choice is yours of course, I just offer up the opportunity to adjust your actions slightly. I can mend the timeline a day or two for recuperation without issue. After all, the investigation was supposed to take 48 hours, and you wrapped up the largest chunk of it in roughly 18. Might be best to get everyone back on the same page, so to speak. Plus, some of you have not actually slept a full night's sleep for a few days; while magic helps, it will take it's toll sooner rather than later.
Just the two cents of a humble DM :)
