Cool. I made a few proposed modifications:

The House of Stanburg:
The House of Stanburg

The Ninth House

Race: Human (Chelish)

Alignment: Lawful Neutral (Evil)

Income: Trade, Mining, Forestry, Fishing, Farming

Colors: Black and Silver

Arms: Two-headed Silver Dragon displayed on a sable background, argent trim.

House Stamburg's strength lies in trade and taking advantage of the historicaly strategic position. Meneloth and the surrounding area has belonged to the family for centuries and some say that more than one dragon's horde has increased the House's wealth.

*Edit*: Okay, made them Lawful Neutral, at times trending evil.

Tazo:
Lawful Evil won't work in this setting for a great House. Too many paladins have ended up Emperor. Lawful Neutral (Evil) would work however.

Edit That's fine House approved.

We are still looking for 1 more player so the second party can have six members. If enough people apply I will run a third party.

The following players and their chacters will be divided up into two partys in a shared universe.

Full Arcane Casters

Dragoncat's Tassira Vantye, Human, Sorceress, Scholar of the Ancients

KRNVR's Arean Star-Eyed, Stargazer Lore Oracle, Blackened Curse, Touched by Divinity

Tazo's Braden Swanson, Human, Monk (Martial Artist),Bastard House Stanburg (Great House)

Bump

We should be ok with 5 and 6

I hate to do this but the players already accepted are ready to go. I know its much early then I said I would start, but everyone is ready.

Gameplay is going to start today, Jan 2nd 2014. There will be 2 parties in a shared universe where the success and failures of each group will affect the other group as well.

If there are any more submissions soon enough it may be able to add one player to party 2. If enough people ask to play by midnight Jan 5th I will run a third party with a slightly different starting point. That would take at least 4 people, maybe 5.

If you expressed an intrest and just haven't had time to make up a character, you have my apologized for the early start, but as I said everyone esle is ready and has been for a couple days now.

Still I want to thank everyone who took an intrest.

I will post who is in which party after the initial gameplay is finished.

This will officially close in a little over five hours, I will consider a posted concept, if someone is interested but doesn't have time to post a finished character.

I'd like to say that, although in the beginning we're having tons of information to absorb, we're finding an interesting plot in our path, so I recommend it.

Here's just the tip of the iceberg.

Yes. What other campaign will make you a blood relation to a Dwarf, an Orc, and an Elf? (And maybe an Aasimar, but that card hasn't turned, yet.)

Yet. XD We'll just have to see how things go!

An Apt name indeed.

I'd like to post interest...
Character Concept 1:
An insane Gnome Bladebound Magus, who believes her greatsword to be a god.

Character Concept 2:
A Half-Orc Fighter of Gorum, who never received divine ability, but still believes strongly in his god and fights for him.

Character Concept 3: A Human Psionic Warrior, who has spent years training his mind and body.

Orelius Lionpaw concept 2 could fit in very well. Half-Orcs and Orcs are well regarded in this setting, due to the way the story line is developing you may even end up with a twin who you were separated from as a child.

Human Psionic Warrior:
I got the pdf for Psionics in Pathfinder for Christmas but haven't read it yet, so I'm going to approve this approach as well. The setting has a built in community of primarily humans who make heavy use of psionics. They are the desert tribes of the far south; their homeland doesn't appear on the map unfortunately. Ethnicity wise use would be Shoanti in this setting, the tribesman are a lot like the medjay (who were popularized in the Mummy movies and cartoon series. They permit no arcane spell casters in their desert, and the have a tradition of producing monks, rangers, and druids.

Go ahead and work a character for either concept 2 or 3, and pm me or post any questions you have here.

Sovereign Court

Oooh....A possible twin.

Dammit, I keep switching - I guess I'll go with the Half-Orc Fighter.

Alnazar Bloodsword was the least promising apprentice of the church of Gorum, being the only student completely unable to focus divine power. So, he was directed to the barracks, where the clerics hoped he would be able to channel his faith in a more constructive way. That day, Alezan decided he would become the Blade of Gorum - unable to channel divine energy, but with more prowess than any other follower of Gorum could ever hope to attain.
Is the backstory adequate?

2-handed fighter (Greatsword)
I'll provide the crunch in the alias.

wait, so all the characters are related?

WAAAAAAT

Not just related, but prophesied to all be in this one tavern at this one time, despite not knowing each other beforehand.

Welcome. :)

You cannot be serious.

Also, i'unno if I want to play a different character... crap.
WHAT DO I DOOOO
DAAAH
BRAIN=FRIED
THIS CAMPAIGN LOOKS SO COOL

So yeah, I'm not sure if I want to play a 'pious' half-orc or a berserker type.

Edit: I have decided on a half-orc druid, because I want an animal companion, dammit.

Also, I have a Lawful Good demon binder that I could also use for this campaign... He's a Tiefling if that's alright.

blink, blink give me a second, Your Tiefling would have to be less then 64 years old, let me see the crunch and the proposed background I'm not saying no but really a race that reaches adulthood in under 60 years would be much more easy to incorporate at this point.

Alright recruitment is now closed.

Orelius Lionpaw's future character gets that last spot in party 2 and I won't be running a third party.

Orelius the faster you can get me something the sooner I can incorporate you into the story. I can hold off on the next update a day or two to let us work up the crunch and background for whoever you chose to run.

Oh no, he's a human, except he's considered a tiefling because he was cursed with daemon blood.

sorry, I just had a total character meltdown (that happens sometimes).
anyways, I have the fluff right here:

Davice Angelbane:

Cursed with demonic powers by the imp familiar of his unwitting father, Davice was reviled by everyone in his town from the moment he was born - except for one wizard, who took him in to study.
They quickly found that he had an affinity for the infernal. Davice practiced with this ability for years, until one day the townspeople got antsy, and broke down the door of the wizard's home while Davice was studying, and killed the wizard. Davice barely escaped. From that day on, he realized that anything he cared about would be destroyed, and so he left the town, to save those he loved.

Can/should I change the fluff in any way?

Also, I'd like to have a special ability instead of one or two traits:

Daemon-Blooded:

this character counts as both his alignment and Chaotic Evil for the purposes of spells and abilities, whichever allows the spell to affect him, and may choose to give either the Celestial or Infernal template to his summons. He detects as whichever alignment is worse for him when Detect Alignment is used on him. He counts as his true alignment when he holds a Holy or Unholy weapon.

He has a raven familiar and the Infernal Binder subschool.

Stats:

Daemon-blooded (+2 Dex, +2 Int, -2 Wis)
7 Str
12 Dex
10 Con
20 Int
8 Wis
17 CHA

Infernal Binder Subschool
Feats: skill focus(diplomacy)

Skills after modifiers:
UMD+4, Diplomacy +10, Bluff +8, Spellcraft +9, Knowledge(planes)+9, Linguistics +9, Knowledge(arcana)+9

Orelius I just realized you used a third party class, I banned those at first mainly because I don't have the rules and I don't know if they how (or if) they would fit into my campaign world. I also banned the Summoner class and Alchemists class because I knew those two won't fit into my game world. Now I'm not going to say no right away, but I'm going to have to research your class.

As to fluff, well the fluff is pretty important, written explanation can get you 3 extra skill points at 1st level in the addition to the 2 extra skill points character get ever level. Those 3 background skills are defined a profession skill, a craft skill, and a hobby skill (a hobby skill is defined a non class skill, unless the skill is a class because of a trait).

Well written fluff can also earn you background package, the details are in the initial recruitment post but basically 2 feats, and 2 skills that tie into your background. I've created a number of them and so have a few of your fellow players with some input into the construction and final say on the form from me.

I'm willing to let you have the Daemon-Blooded special ability without the cost of any of your traits, but I think it should cost you a feat from whatever campaign background package gets written up for you.

We are also going to have to tweak it for this campaign world, you can't show up as evil to detect alignment abilities at all. There are a number of non thinking protective magics in various places and things that will swat your character like a bug that parties are bound to run into sooner or later. The line between supernatural good and evil is very real and well drawn in this campaign world with the gods themselves going so far as to pay attention to some extent of first level characters.

Anyhow look over the initial recruitment post and keep working on both crunch and fluff.

No, it's a Paizo conjuration subschool. Look on the d20 pf srd. I just used Infernal Binder because that's how it came up in my mind.

Also, I'm willing to change the ability - how about all of the 'whichever is worse' instances are changed to 'true alignment' instead?
I'll get the fluff written up and posted by tonight. Crunch will take maybe an hour, but will come after.

Don't we already have 2 full arcane casters?

Eldrian, you are right we do have two full casters.

Orelius, we do have two full casters, lucky for you both of them have great even awesome back stories take a good look at Tassira's and Ikkvy's back stories. Ikkvy's ties to her brother was a simple thing but it raised her story up a notch in my mind. Tassira's back story was simply one of the best written I've yet to see.

Your going to be taking benefit of the fact the I said a 3rd full caster would be only accepted if there was an awesome back story was submitted well there have been two.

*Blushes madly*

Eldrian wrote:

Well, I do have a +13 to diplomacy and a +8 to bluff. So i do have the social butterfly aspect.

If you want, I could go with the half-orc fighter, but with less of a focus on religion. Or that druid I PMed Ghost.k
Actually I think I'll go with the druid. No, the Fighter. Delicious, delicious hitting people in the face. And then biting it off. Reading Tassira's entry hasgiven me some real inspiration.
I'm gonna go with, 'raised by wolves, discovered by a kindly scout, taken into the Imperial army at an extremely young age' and go from there. I have always wanted to play a feral child.
The wizard is more of a Kingmaker campaign character anywho.

Edit: you know, this setting reminds me a lot of final fantasy 6. Any chance of Magitek happening?

Magitek:
There already is some but its not wide spread or well know. The airships from the City of the Storm King were fueled and maneuvered not by specific spells but by arcane caster pilots and engineers funneling their potential spell energy into the crafts engines. If that knowledge is being used for anthing else or not is a campaign secret the players will have to discover as time goes on.

So this is my character. I'll be working on him throughout the day, mostly focusing on backstory.
Also, whoa, was not expecting there to actually be Magitek. I feel like a legacy campaign set 1000 years in the future could comfortably reflect Final Fanasy 6 now.

Sovereign Court

I think Eldrain meant to your first post where you pointed out you don't intend to take more than 1 full divine caster and 1 full arcane caster. Non full casters should be fine i Think.

I think therefore I exist you and Ghost should come to terms and decide so we can get moving ^_^

Ikvvy wrote:

Don't worry, I just finished my super-good-not-really-could-be-much-better-but-would-be-way-too-long backstory.

Actually, I'd better Cohesive-ize my backstory some more.
bbl.

Backstory cohesive-ized.
I also have a few abilities and traits that I'd like to have approved.

Sorry, my kids did not go back to school today because of the below zero temperatures, with wind chill about 20 below zero on the Fahrenheit scale, plus I had a doctor's appointment. Pm me what you want approved or post it under a spoiler in the recruitment thread. I'm happy with what I'm seeing so far.

melee offense:

Falchion (2d4+6(2d4+10), AB +7(+6))(S)
Greatclub (1d10+6(1d10+10), AB +7(+6))(B)
Bite (1d4+2(1d4+4), AB +5(AB+4) or 1d4+6(1d4+10), AB+7(+6))(P)

ranged:

Throwing Axe (1d6+4, AB+5)(S)

tentative abilities to be approved:

Rage: Unlike a normal Mad Dog Barbarian, Marrovak gets the normal amount of rage rounds for his level -4, and can use Rage starting from first level. He still only gains Rage Powers at level 4, 8, 12, 16, and 20, however.

Berserker of the Empire: +3 Rage Rounds per day

Raised by Wolves: Because he spent his formative years in the Pack, Marrovak may speak with wolves.

Trained Scent: Marrovak may track by scent, but takes a -5 penalty to the check.

These are because of my backstory. I could also take 1 or 2 drawbacks to balance it.

Also, I'd like to take Multiattack in place of the second Scout package feat, as biting is an important part of this character's attacks.

Approved.

I am seriously super sorry about the delay I caused to the campaign, guys.

Eh, it's fine. XD We're not rampaging forth just yet, so I don't think you caused any serious hiccups. It's all good.

Rednal wrote:

Yeah, but the GM was like, "then suddenly... OH GOSH THERES A NEW GUY WTF SORRY GOTTA PUT THE BIG REVEAL ON HOLD" So I just wanted to apologize to all of you.

Yeah, its fine besides now there are 12 of you and I get to watch all the test subjectsplayers try and track down the references to the 12 and which ones matter and which ones don't.

Hey sorry to make you feel like you held things up a lot it will all be caught up by tomorrow morning, no worries.

Thanks, you guys.

This is Marrovak's companion. she's here just because she needed to be statted up.

Also, I just realized that Marrovak's name is one letter away from Marrowak, the pokemon. Ah well.

Ha Ha Ha Ha/ Marrovak I choose you!!! Use Bite!!!!

Please don't make these jokes in-campaign.

Sovereign Court

nah I won't. I'm your twin brother ain't I?
I foresee a rather hilarious party combination if we get together.

You do realize the party is going to be split and since you're two barbarians it would be best for you to go different ways, right?

I don't want to be a jerk, but we should really stop using the recruitment thread.
