Thank you! :)

*edit*

GUYS! Tomorrow is the 2nd anniversary of this game! We've still got uh...3 of the 6 original players and nearly all of the current players have been playing together for what, a little over a year and a half now? How awesome is that? :D

Just to add my tuppence, thank you all for your continued interest and investment in the game, it wouldn't be what it is without the stories your characters bring with them :)

Hey folks, as a heads-up I wanted to let you all know that pending a clean preemployment check (which I don't anticipate being an issue since I don't do drugs and I'm good at hiding bodies) I should be finally rejoining the workforce within the next couple of weeks. As of now I'm not sure what this will mean for my posting rate but I'll be sure to keep you updated as I learn more! :D

Congrats! Want to share about the job? Do I remember right that you live in Kentucky?

It's the same sort of job that I had before, working in a hospital laboratory. Unfortunately it's PRN (which is basically 'as needed') and not full time, but it's a start and some places will often work PRN employees quite a bit since they don't have to pay benefits.

And I live in Tennessee but worked in Kentucky...and will work there again as that's where my new job is located, heh. I don't live far from the TN/KY state line so it's not too big of a deal to do the driving :)

I just wanted to point out we did FIND those potions in the Summoner's hut, and one of them was a potion of Darkvision.

Hey guys, just wanted to mention that I start my new job on Monday and I'm also working to readjust my sleep schedule (normally an 8a-4p shift is no big deal but when you've slipped into night owl mode...) so my own posts might be a little shorter/sparser than normal this week until I get adjusted to my new schedule. Maintaining 1/day should still be no problem though :)

No worries Lenneth, just post when you can :)

Hope everything goes alright!

Thanks guys! The first two days (I'm off today) went well, though due to people being on vacation and someone having to leave work early on Monday due to testing positive for flu, I'm working 40 hours after all instead of 32 like was first planned.

Regarding trying to keep track of clues and things, I might be able to rig some sort of info document to help us keep better track of the people, places, and things we run across or have run across in the past. It'll just take some time for me to do since I'll have to go back through Gameplay from the start. Maybe I can do some work on that this weekend.

There's some notes int he campaign tab, though I feel somewhat guilty for not having kept them up to date >.<

Shout if you want help, clarification of anything etc :)

Lilith could summon a creature that could cast a stinking cloud into the hut. Then IF the thug holding the girl fails (less than 50% chance of that) then he would be mostly helpless and could not follow through. That is all I got, and it seems way too dangerous to try.

Feldus could cast Scare at the leader, if he can see the guy. Of course sneaking into the hut would be another option if he can find a crack wide enough for him.

Since we are in a stand off here Feldus won't act immediately.

Inactive

There's not much that Lenneth can do from the outside without being spotted...guess we will see how it goes.

Inactive

By the way guys, don't take Lenneth's actions to be the definitive response of the entire group here; if someone wants to make a different response then please do what your character would do :)

Male Human Druid 7 | HP 66 | AC 17, touch 11, flat-footed 16 | Fort+7,Ref+3,Will+7 | Init+1 | Perc+12

I like all these ideas, there's not a lot Melo can do being out of spells, wild shapes and animal companions.

Inactive

I'm kind of at a loss here myself; Lenneth doesn't really have any spells she can use that would be useful, not to mention the other thugs can see her if she tried casting. Her hexes wouldn't do a lot of good right now either. It's risky but she could have Indigo try to attack the guy and distract him so Tabitha can get away and the rest of us can act.

The only other immediate options I see are hoping Feldus can manage to do something since he's in the best position to pull something off without being spotted or to agree to the guy's demands and hope he doesn't decide to kill Tabitha or one of the others anyway just to spite us.

Of course if Aura is dead or even hurt, all bets are off as far as Lenn is concerned...

I'm putting this here but without intention that anyone else should act on it, that would be meta knowledge.

Flynn is going to kill this guy. End of story. As soon as Aura is released, that guy gives up his only bargaining chip. So if we negotiate for her release and he does so, I'm going in.

The way I see it, he has everything to lose here. For all he knows the girl is just some waif we picked up on the way and yeah we'd be bummed if she died but it's a harsh world we live in - we still have the village. I know that's a cold way to look at it but from his perspective that would have to enter his thinking, he doesn't know how important she potentially is. To be honest, I am very tempted to just call his bluff on it and just fly down and refuse to back away. He kills her, I go in there and kill him. I don't think that's much in the way of a win for him either.

EDIT: just saw it was Tabitha he had hostage. Doesn't really change my thinking though.

Inactive

I really hemmed and hawed over this, especially after Flynn's above post but I decided to go with it even if it might risk coming across as metagamey. I was already leaning towards having Indigo attack the guy as a distraction but after sleeping on it (literally and figuratively) I realized that this very well could be the point where Lenneth snaps since all she knows is that her child has likely been hurt or even murdered; I'm not a parent myself but I imagine most parents would respond in a similar manner even without accounting for all the other stress and baggage that the group has dealt with.

Now I will go and spend the next little bit second-guessing this because even doing reckless things in a game is difficult for me to do at times ;_;

I've been trying to decide what new spells to pick for Lenn. She'll get 3 new ones: 2 from leveling up, which can be any levels 1st-3rd, and 1 from the human FCB which has to be either 1st or 2nd level. She also automatically gains Deeper Darkness as a patron spell. Any suggestions? Here are some of the ones I was looking at:

Enlarge Person (1st)
Snowball (1st)
False Life (1st)
Fog Cloud (2nd)
Vomit Swarm (2nd)
Eldritch Fever (3rd)
Remove Blindness/Deafness (3rd)
Remove Curse (3rd)
Remove Disease (3rd)
Sleet Storm (3rd)
Stinking Cloud (3rd)

There are also some of the other staples such as Dispel Magic, but I believe both Lilith and Melo can already cover that one if needed. Fly would be redundant for her but it could be useful to be able to cast on someone else in the party.

I know Lilith is out of town for the weekend but I'm hoping to hear from her soon too, as I don't want to overlap spells if possible :)

I love both sleet storm and stinking cloud for battlefield control. But in a game with so many undead stinking cloud's effectiveness is going to be greatly diminished

Inactive

Derp, you're right about Stinking Cloud. Sleet Storm looks like a good one to go with though and Lenn still has her Swamp's Grasp hex as a backup.

Agree about Stinking Cloud - Its usually my go to spell but not for undead. Don't forget that I can scribe you a scroll of a spell I know for you to learn. Also true for Feldus. And he and I could trade spells if we wanted to and trusted each other enough. :)

Lilith takes a 6th level of wizard.

She gains 4 +1(Favored Class) +1(Con) hit points and her BAB increases to 3. And all her saves increase by 1.

Skills:
+3 Knowledge Arcana
+1 Perception
+1 Profession Fisherman
+1 Spellcraft

She learns Fireball and a conjuration spell. I may end up taking Stinking Cloud here. Already have a pit spell and spiked pit does not seem that much better that regular pit. Hmm. What do people think about Conjure Carriage? If the terrain supports it that is 6 hours of carriage transport for those of us walking. Those inside have cover and concealment and some protection from the elements. Heck some of us could sleep or scribe scrolls or whatever while riding.

Conjuration spells I like at this level include Pellet Blast, Summon Monster 3 and Phantom Steed

But I really like the sound of Conjure Carriage, I wasn't aware of that spell :)

Levelled up. Only significant change is that I get a single Hunter Trick (Uncanny Senses - provides a +10 bonus on perception checks for one round) and my favoured enemy bonus against undead increases to +4 for Undead and +2 for Humans

I read Pellet Blast - was not impressed. Enemy gets DR and only 3d8. Would rather just fireball and this build is not really meant to be a blaster, but I have wanted fireball so many times in the last three months that I am taking it instead of fly! Summon Monster was my first pick last level. Also considered Phantom Steed but this seems more "Party Friendly" IF the terrain will support it. ??? Here is Conjure Carriage

Note the spell lasts 1 hour/level and self drives, at least along roads. At higher levels it might be possible to sleep in it - posting a guard of course.

The real advantage of Pellet Blast is as a rider for metamagic feats - particularly Dazing Spell in the future. Made truly awesome because it targets Reflex and doesn't allow spell resistance which all adds up to some excellent higher level battlefield control.

However, in an undead campaign Dazing Spell is also diminished in usefulness.

Hey, all - sorry, thins are a bit crazed at teh moment. I hope to be levelled up by Tuesday, but if not, pull me along for the ride...

I'll be back soon.

I like Conjure Carriage! I'd forgotten to list it, but I was also looking at Communal Mount. The duration would be pretty short though since there are so many of us, even after taking into account that Flynn would be on Skyfall. The Carriage would be better for all-day travel but it does sound like we'd need to stick to the roads to be able to use it and we'll be more likely to attract attention.

Pellet Blast is pretty cool; a favorite of our summoner in one of the F2F games I'm in (along with Snowball, hehe).

Still thinking it over but I'm just about decided on Sleet Storm at least; the added advantage of potentially making things fall down is too good to pass up.

No worries Valex, hope to see you back soon!
