Hey, all;
I'm off on vacation for the next two weeks. I'll be travelling most of tomorrow, but most days I should be able to look in once or twice. Please don't let me bog things down - bot me as needed.
General intention for the next few rounds is to find party members down here, and get Lillith behind me while engaging with the longsword. (remember Undead Slayer for +1 dmg...)
He'll also start his inspire courage equivalent, once he is in contact with friends.
But for now, off to San Francisco and Kauai!

So as not to clutter Gameplay...
The Benny Hill theme? Seriously? "That calls for a spanking", would my Lil"Eschie alias says....Now I can't get this music outta my mind ^^
Sounds oddly familiar... ;)

Internet should be fixed (yeah!)now.
@GM: so next round I got my normal attack and the Haste attack, or I could use my normal attack and Cleave (if my first attack hits and my opponents are adjacent), but not both?
I guess it would be better for me to do normal+Haste, as Cleave lowers my AC, but Haste augments it.

GM Fiendish |

Yup Lachen, haste only adds an attack during a full attack. However you do still add +1 to hit and +1 AC regardless of what else you do :)
Better to do haste w/full attack as you get two attacks regardless, whereas cleave you have to hit with the first attack to get the second.
(assuming you don't have to move to attack, otherwise you're stuck with cleave anyway ;)

Lachen Anborian |

To Lilith: I am totally aware, as a player, that Lilith is Lachen's ally, and not a wicked elf witch working toward his doom.
Lachen isn't the sanest person around, he could be paranoid (or paranoiac?), among other things. You will know more of the man later on, if we don't all die, of course.^^
Be assured I don't want any PvP, and will do my utmost to avoid it, even if I must change my way of playing. We're here to have fun as players, but that doesn't mean there must be no tension from time to time between characters, IMO.

I get all that and am enjoying your posts Lachen. That last one just seemed to deviate from what I thought Lachen would have obviously seen based on being so close to Lilith with a 22 perception.
I'd prefer to stay away from PvP myself. But as you know you can act against someone's interest and let them die from other sources as easily as you can attack them. I'd prefer to try to act as a team as far as RP will allow anyway. I find GM Fiendish is quite capable of challenging us even we we are playing well as a team and so we do not have to add to that challenge. :)

Lachen Anborian |

@Lillith: Totally agree.
What I liked in this adventure, when I was just reading your stuff, is that the challenges are not just monsters, but moral or intellectual too.
And the team of players, whatever the characters, rocks.
I have to confess that, since I started to play with you all, Lachen is quite different from what I expected, while being sometimes close to myself in personality.
Quite a scary thought.^^
@All: Did you have some inspiration source for your characters? Did one of your characters turned out different of what you imagined at first?

Lenneth Barlow |
Hum...most of my characters aren't really based on anything in particular, though sometimes looking back I can see where certain character elements were inspired by other things. Lenneth was actually a concept that I had submitted to an E6/E7 Carrion Crown recruitment that didn't make the cut, so I revised her somewhat and submitted her to this game.
It also depends on the character concept and the type of game I'm looking to apply to. Some characters have a fairly detailed background/personality from the get-go, while others I prefer to leave vague and 'discover' more about them as the adventure unfolds. I've definitely had characters turn out very different from what I'd initially written about them for their backgrounds!
I'd say the character that comes closest to 'my' (Lady Ladile's) personality/behavior would be Briana from the Shattered Star game I'm playing in, who I believe Lachen is already familiar with ;) Really though, I think most of my characters share at least one or more personality traits (good and bad) with my real self. For example, my summoner Palomia who is often the smarta** that I sometimes wish I could be.

Flynnvas Merryweather |

I like cats. I've been one in a previous life. ^^
??

Lenneth Barlow |
@Lenneth: I think there is a cat-themed thing in a few of your characters.;-)
Let's see...just counting PbP, two characters with cat familiars, one currently inactive character with a leopard animal companion, one summoner with a panther-like eidolon, and an actual Catfolk character....
Okay, you got me. I do rather like cats, hehe. Though to be fair, it's not like there are a huge number of games that allow and/or are appropriate for Catfolk characters so you can't blame me for jumping at the chance to play one, can you? :D
On the other hand, I do have an (evil) kobold shaman with a spider familiar and another inactive character with a dog animal companion. Who knows, should Lenneth ever bite the dust perhaps the rest of you will get to meet the second one... ;)
Hooray insomnia -_-

Flynnvas Merryweather |

Crazy cat lady....
I hope you never have a spider companion, I couldn't separate my role-playing from my real life reaction - which would be to burn it :S

Melo |

I take inspiration from tv shows and books i read, i always want to be a hero and try an emulate the heroes i read/watch. Melo came about as sort of a last of the mohicans and some Folk Tales of ancient shapeshifters that got lost in their animal form. But that was just an idea and im sure he will evolve from that.
I agree with Lenneth when it comes to writing out a backstory/personality While it's good to know or have an idea where your character came from. I enjoy seeing how they evolve with interaction with other people.
I also agree about how difficult it is to get in games with non standard races.. catfolk being one and my favorite Grippli ( i want to play a frog paladin! ) There's just something about them i'd love to play someday.
I'd love to have a large spider animal companion someday or a slug something crazy, maybe even a plant. But a Grippli with a giant frog perfect.

Flynnvas Merryweather |

No frog Paladin. Ever.

Lilith was suppose to be an uncaring logic based Spock-like wizard. She was raised in the high courts of Cheliax where the norm is lawful evil and almost everyone is lawful something. But she has been unable to maintain that uncaring attitude as she has grown closer to the group. She is still capable of callous acts for the greater good of the group but she is also slowly transitioning from neutral to good.
Back in Cheliax her relationship with a god was with Asmodeus - someone you bargain with and not really pray to. The whole Desna thing is new to her and a direct result from her experience in that church. She still looks at "evil" spells as just tools and will happily summon devils to do her bidding if that is the best tool for any given task.
It will take something more to complete her transition to good. I am not sure what that is but will recognize it when I see it. :)

Flynnvas Merryweather |

My posting might be a little slower too, I seem to have contracted Mummy Rot (the flu)

Lenneth Barlow |
I have to say, I'm definitely enjoying the added uh...tension that Lachen brings to the group. Although I know that Polo and Lilith butted heads on occasion and of course there was the whole brouhaha when Euron's past was revealed, I think this is the first time where there have been some true personality conflicts among the group - which makes for great drama, as we all know!

Lenneth Barlow |
Hey folks, I just wanted to give everyone a heads-up that as of today I'm without a job and I'm not sure of how this will affect my posting for the next little while as I look for a new one. Right now, I should be okay to continue with the game but if that should change, I'll be sure to let everyone know.

Flynnvas Merryweather |

Holy crap! Sorry to hear that Lenneth :( Hope you get everything sorted out soon

Lenneth Barlow |
Thanks for the support everyone, it means a lot - though I hope you'll understand if I prefer not to discuss the nitty gritty details. As I said, I should be okay to continue posting for the time being since I now have a lot of free time on my hands, but of course that may change once I find a new job. Either way, I'll keep you guys updated :)
