"Sure, good a time as any." Anyka replies a with a shrug.
Derika wraps her arms around Vishanti, "How bout you love? Are you okay meeting with the leader of their town now?"
"Yes I am my love. Let's see what lies in store her." Vishanti replies, resting her head against Derika's for a moment.

"Let me put these in my room while you decide what you want to do," Toni says. "Hopefully Malyoxa doesn't have a sweet tooth."
Luth leads you to a building apart from most of town and you hear the sound of metal hitting metal coming not far from where you are. The paladin holds the door for all of you before going to a door and knocking. "Barclay, sir, some adventurers have arrived today. I thought you might like to meet them."
A stout man with a fair amount of graying hair opens the door. His hands are scarred and his eyes are sharp like ones that have witnessed a thousand battles. "Welcome to Valwick. I am Barclay. Luth must see something in you all because he's never brought a group to me before. I do have something that needs doing, if you're interested. Please come in."
Eldan walks in first, a little skittish because of the imposing man.
Chris follows behind Eldan, noting the "halfling's" hesitance.
She nods and goes inside.
Derika follows the others inside with Vishanti's hand in hers to see what Barclay has in mind, "Well...it seems things will start getting interesting right away. It's good though, I've never been much for just sitting around."
She nods and looks at Hitome, "So, should we go with her then and get to know some of the others?"
She looks at Hitome, "Is that okay with you Hitome?" She asks, not wanting to just assume that her midwife didn't have any other plans.
She nods and looks at Hitome, "So, should we go with her then and get to know some of the others?"
"Sounds like an excellent idea to me." Hitome replies with a smile.
Jin just smiles as they wait for Toni to come back.
Vishanti smiles at Derika's comment, squeezing her love's hand. Her eyes study the paladin's face, finding both wisdom and kindness there as well as a hard resolve. A good choice for the responsibility of running a town this large.
Joining the others inside, Anyka sort of fades to the back of the group. The sense of authority and......lawfulness emanating off of Barclay made her just the slightest bit twitchy.
Always able to locate her sisters, Gashka seems to appear next to Anyka's side rather quickly. Leaning in towards her she whispers in her ear, "I know it's not what we're used to dealing with....but I'd like to try it here Anyka. I'm just....I'm tired of running all the time. I'd just like to have a place where we can settle for once. Besides....it doesn't seem like things will be boring here....and I don't sense anything ominous coming from anyone here. Could we just give it a try? Please Anyka?" There was a pleading to her tone that Anyka had seldom heard. The tiredness and grief was evident in it as well.
Toni comes back. "Ready to go."
Barclay sniffs the air for a moment. "I smell a kobold..."
"Damn that ship for not having baths," Eldan mutters. "Uhh, that would be me, sir."
Eldan then goes and tells his story. "I would appreciate it if we didn't share this little detail about myself with everyone though."

Barclay stifles a laugh. "So you already know some of our famed heroes...I apologize for what happened to you."
"Well...it gave me a second chance at life, I suppose. I can't be too mad about it," Eldan says. "Though it severely limits my social life."
"I'll keep your true nature a secret," Barclay says. "You needn't worry about it. The job I have is a simple one. It might be simple for some seasoned adventurers, like yourselves. I'm sure you heard the work coming from the mines. The head miner and our town's blacksmith, Kierk, has been delving deeper into the mines each day. We discovered an old dwarven fortress buried in the mines, but it seems another problem has cropped up. He's found a cavern full of spiders and, understandably, no one wants to head in there. I'd like for you to clear them out...and make sure that cavern doesn't lead to any more surprises. There is a heavy dark elf (or drow, whatever you want to call them) presence on Zahvroma. If they have access to our mine and our town, we may find ourselves at a disadvantage soon."

Chris looks at Gashka and Anyka. "I'd need some time to prepare some alchemist's fire, but I think we can handle that. We kinda know about dark elves too."
He briefly recalls Tehanna, but pushes his memories of her out of his mind.

She thinks about it for a moment before nodding, "Well...we definitely can't have that in a place that we would like to call home." Looking at her sister and her friends she kind of shrugs, "I can't speak for everyone here, but I'll do whatever needs be done to keep this place safe from invasion....of any kind. Since we've arrived I've seen many different kinds of people and they all seem happy, so you must have something really good going here and I won't let anything mess that up." She stops and takes a breath before telling a little about their own story and how they ended up in Nicae, "So...comparatively, this place seems like a great town for folks who want to start a new life. I believe in what you're trying to do here and I want to help protect it too." She looks at Vishanti for approval while holding onto her hand. She wanted to help them protect the town, but it was important to her that Vishanti be okay with this as well. She wouldn't do anything unless Vishanti felt alright about it.
Listening to Chris she nods before looking at Anyka and speaking up herself, "I think my sister has the right of it. My friends and I...we aren't from here either. We kind of got sent off to Nicae as they were getting ready to leave...and went with them. Over the course of our trip here Derika and I found out that we were sisters....and I'm kinda confused about that...but...I don't think it really matters because family is family no matter where it comes from. I myself am tired of constantly moving about and stuff, we dealt with enough of our own trauma and would also like a chance to start over." Giving Anyka's hand a reassuring squeeze she says, "We've had some experience with dark elves, and our friend Chris here can prepare some alchemist fire if you're willing to wait a little while for him to make it before we go down there. I just want to make sure we're fully prepared for whatever we might encounter. I haven't always felt good about the things I was doing....but I feel good about this." She says as she tries to explain what she's thinking without getting completely into their past. She really wanted to try and move past everything that happened to them...including Tickle. She would never see him again, so she needed to let him go and move on.
Looking at Barclay she says, "I've gone on some missions with Eldan and had a chance to get to know him before everything that happened in Nicae happened....he's a good man, and a great fighter. We're lucky to have him."
She smiles, "We're ready too."
Leaning into Anyka a bit she says once more, "Please Anyka? For me?"
"Alright," Toni says, opening the door for Jin and Hitome. "Let's get going then."
She nods and goes outside with Hitome first and waits for Toni.
Toni closes the door and leads Jin and Hitome over to Gyrthr and Svanna's house. She knocks on the door.
Gyrthr opens door. "Hello, Szef. What brings you by?"
"We just wanted to check on you and Svanna," Toni says. "How is the new house?"
"It's well-furnished and comfortable, Szef. Thank you," Gyrthr says. "Please come in."
He holds the door for everyone. "Svanna, we have company. Will you bring out some lemonade?"
Toni steps inside.
Jin follows Toni inside with Hitome behind her, "It looks really nice Gyrthr."
Svanna comes out of the kitchen with five tankards of lemonade, handing them out to the guests first before giving one to Gyrthr and taking one for herself.
Jin takes a sip of the lemonade and smile, "MMm....sweet and tart, very tasty Ms. Svanna."

......"of course I'll try. I know you're tired of running. I'm just...the adjustment isn't easy. But I'm willing to give some semblance of normal a shot, especially for you, okay." Anyka whispers back giving Gashka a hug. She could appreciate the fact that she was witnessing a moment of vulnerability, that few others would ever be allowed to see.
Vishanti gives Derika a warm smile as she turns to her for support. "I agree whole-heartedly. What you have here is worth protecting, and we will gladly help to do so."
Accepting the tankard with a polite bow and a word of thanks, Hitome takes a sip. "This is wonderful"
Letting out a breath she didn't even realize she was holding she returns the hug, "Thanks Sis."
Derika smiles and nods in agreement.
"You can head there whenever you're ready," Barclay says. "In the meantime, we have an empty house available, but it only has two bedrooms. Will that be alright for the time being?"
"As long as everyone has a place to sleep I'm okay with it." She says.
Looking at Anyka and Chris she nods, "Yeah, a temporary arrangement like that should be fine. If there's somewhere around here that sells supplies we could probably buy a couple of cots or something. We'll make it work."
Svanna merely nods.
"Works for me.." Anyka says with a hint of her trademark grin.
Derika looks at Vishanti, "Is that okay with you love?"
Curious about something, Chris reaches out into his belt pouch and pulls out a gold coin. "They look different from home...Are these the correct coins for this world, Barclay?"
"Yes, those are ours," Barclay says, a little puzzled at his answer.
