While expected, her birth was something not really celebrated. Her strange skin tone a tell tale sign that there was something not right about their daughter her parents left her on the doorstep of a temple. Being different was never easy, especially when you felt all alone. Military life and combat were the only things she was actually good at, even though there were some that still thought she didn't belong anywhere and they really didn't like her in their outfit. She bounced from commander to commander, and after a while she started having doubts herself about her place with the military and grew to dislike their tactics. Deciding that she had had enough of them, she left....or deserted might be a better word, though she could never go back she regretted nothing. She found some friends, though a strange event somehow separated them, at least she ended up with Vishanti and that was much better than starting all over alone again. Eventually they acquired a small apothecary shop and set up a decent business. Who knew where they would go from here, but at least they wouldn't be alone.
Derika is 5'7" and weighs roughly 190 pounds. Although she is a little short in stature, there is nothing diminutive about her size. After training for years at the Military Academy, she is a small powerhouse of muscle and has no trouble wielding the war hammer that she carries with her. Her skin is a shiny color of turquoise, her wild shoulder length hair a bluish green that matches her skin tone. Her eyes are the color of gold, that seem to sparkle sometimes in the sunlight. She has some features that make her appear as half Orc, but other than the tusks and powerful build, nothing else speaks of her Orcish heritage. When she wants them, her finger nails can extend into dangerous looking claws. She rarely smiles, but when she does it appears to be more of a smirk than anything, though strange recent events have taught her the value of a "friendlier" demeanor. She is fearless in battle, and more than willing to fight, if she finds good reason to. She doesn't make friends easily, as most find her off putting at best....but, she will become highly defensive of those she considers friends, or those that are weaker and being abused in any way. She doesn't believe in a God per say, but she has an open mind and doesn't mind listening to others talk about their beliefs. With some convincing, she could possibly be made into a convert, but that would take a lot of time. She carries herself well, and everything about her screams proud warrior. This is pretty much how I see Derika in my head. I suck at finding the right kinds of pictures, but this is the closest I could get. Of course the weapon is all wrong, and her skintone is a little more blue and shiny, well...you get my meaning. No longer a soldier of Ganz she usually wears travelling garb and regular armor. Most likely dark leather breeches and a top with some kind of hooded cloak. Her breastplate she wears over her clothing.
