Does anything?

Ha ha. Don't go nihilistic on us now. We don't want all the party members to suicide before the boss battle. :)

nah, if I was gonna do that I'd have a fetchling dirge bard character that makes the enemy give up with how pointless it was

That sounds hilarious to me

Emo bard band? I'm in.

That is hilarious. I had a PFS character with a death wish once. She was an Oracle and thought the Gods were just playing with her, so she did all the risky things. We didn't have a thief, so she just opened all the doors without checking, etc. Didn't think the Gods would let her die. And, though she got hurt several times, they didn't... she was always still alive enough to heal herself up and go on. It was hilarious to play, and the more she did risky things and lived through it, the more it confirmed her belief that the Gods were never going to let her rest. :)

Shadow Lodge

I guess I have a cherecter In mind for if the dwarf dies

Pfft Halfling jokes, only those with small minds tell such shirt quips about us Halflings.

and Yeah if I am apart of this with my character I think I have an idea for a couple of characters

Only two more days left!! So excited!!!

I had a skald like this. He would forever sing of symphonic death metal, but not once was he granted death. However, i did get into it with the proper authorities a few times. Apparently murder murder death death is not family friendly at festivals. He has only that one song....

I can see how festivals would be a problem. :)

Nice spread that begs for MAD gestalt. I'm going to try to have a bladebound/hexcrafter magus nature oracle ready by the deadline.

This is Ictoo here with my half-elf Barbarian/Skald, I'm cutting it a little close but I really got into this character and wanted to lock everything down.

I have everything on my character now but the bulk of the backstory. I do have most of it just need to go over it and make sure all my points are covered I will get it up on my profile tomorrow and post to let you know.

~Scratch scratch~ I'm not sure if you can Gestalt Barbarian and Skald given that Skald is a hybrid of Barbarian...I'm not a 100% sure on the rules of Gestalt but this just yells at me as not being kosher?

Background:

Aejor's tribe has seen it's fair share of issues since the fall of the City of Song. The forests of Dalelands were once claimed as their own hunting grounds. The city had provided trade and refuge in times of great need and without the tribe had become more insular and prone to times of great suffering and loss.

Aejor seeing that his tribe would soon face another of these great calamities of time and overpopulation spoke with his elders trying to find out what had made their once great tribe prosper and all they could answer was with stories of the times in which the City of Song stood proud and the Dalelands were filled with game and elves. He could see no other option, and with being a bit of an outcast amongst the Wild elves for adorning his body so heavily...he gathered his supplies, bade leave from his tribe to try and find a land in which their tribe could live more peaceably and prosperously. He was not seem off by many, only a few of the elders and his birth mother.

Thus he set out for the last known city of elves in the area surrounding the City of Sing, Evereska. He made the trek though it was long and hard, relying on his ability to forage and hunt to get him through to his destination. He made camp when he grew tired and hunted when he began to feel the first inklings of hunger (and of course when his food supply ran dangerously low.)

Personality:

Aejor is like most Wild elves, untrusting but affable when he does approach others seeking aid. He is easy to bring to temper and quick to shoot but is true to his word (Uncharacteristically so for one of his kind, offering no trickery when giving his word.) He is quiet around those he does not know but a few drinks to ease his tongue and he will speak with outsiders out of curiosity and in seeking understanding. He is known to have a hard time following long detailed plans preferring to revel in the bloodlust of battle but knowing the value of ranged combat when possible.

i *think* it works, since the rage powers in the books don't operate the same way.

They just dont stack. I know there's a faq somewhere, but they just get the skalds, then the barbarians. They do NOT stack however.

Paizo FAQ wrote:

Skald: The skald class says “If the skald has rage powers from another source, he (but not his allies) can use those rage powers during an inspired rage,” what exactly does it mean by “another source”?

Another source means any source other than the rage powers gained at 3rd level and every 3 levels thereafter. A few examples of other sources are rage powers gained from multiclassing in barbarian, rage powers gained from Extra Rage Power, and rage powers gained from a magic item.

So you can use Raging Song with Inspired Rage for allies AND use your Barbarian rage powers at the same time (but you don't get the personal benefits of entering a rage).

But if you enter a Barbarian's rage, neither you nor your allies can gain the benefits of any of the Songs.

~nods~ Ok, I wasn't sure on that cause I remember there being a rule issue with if you multi-class X Hybrid with either of it's Y or Z component then you cannot take any more level in X Hybrid. But it looks like that issue was taken out by Errata later.

Nevermind, I'm an idiot continue on!

This is what I meant. Sorry if I caused confusion. I couldnt find the source.

It's pronounced EE-im.

Noice, I never knew about the Accelerated Drinker trait...very interesting.

Also, I love the stat line so far for the character, so I hope the background matches it sweetly to help get this character on the field. Ranger/Cleric is a great Gestalt idea that I haven't thought about. I will curious to see how well it meshes. (I have thought about a Warpriest/Ranger mash up just to see how nasty bows could get long term with the whole weapon scaling + Gravity Bow or Hollow Blades.)

I changed it to a ranger over the rogue, since I was looking at the story and rogue just made no sense. I could tie the ranger part in, but rogue is easier for a city campaign when using Calistria. Every other way is... iffy for the rogue cleric combo. from a backstory standpoint.

** spoiler omitted **...

thank for the crunch, but slight problem: Desna doesn't exist in the Realms. Please look at the gods doc above to see if anything suits your fancy.

@Arlo: same problem as with Nehama, Gorum doesn't exist on Faerun. Tempus would be his analog.

OK,I THINK the submissions doc is updated.

Thanks dragon I had picked Tempus just forgot to update it since I used herolabs.

I had built the concept and I knew there would be problems with skald/barbarian but I think I may try and get the same with bard/ it still gives me certain aspects I have in my back story but give no head aches on rules and what rage is what, but I will focus on my backstory and get it finished this morning.

I had a look through the submissions. Unless I missed something nobody is trying a blaster wizard (or related class). I might try and sneak a submission in before the deadline but time is tight now ;)

Shadow Lodge

Blaster casters are fun!
Maybe like soundstriker bard/orc sorcerer or pyrokenetist/scarred witch doctor or grenedier alchemist/evoker wizard or winter witch/winter oracle (I have played a lot of blaster casters. They are fun)
Good luck man!
Scant hours remain and I am very excited

Yeah lots of good combos and those sounds fun. I'm thinking blood arcanist / X. I'll probably go for a secondary class with out of combat utility - maybe an investigator. Or silksworn occultist for all the spells.

Still working on his profile, but here's Rondall Cale.

Dragon, on Nehama I used hero lab so I was t sure if it had the dnd gods, so I just picked the closest one to it. If it changes the function let me know, but I am going with the Moonbow goddess

Back story is in, I've also stated up a barbarian/bard, wasn't hard nothing really changed.

Shadow Lodge

If you're going arcanist, that generally emphasizes a good int and at least decent cha, maybe soundstriker bard? Bards are good for action economy and they have good utility stuff and sonic damage spells
Sonic damage is hard to resist

Sadly I've not played around much with occultist or investigator so I can't say much about them, but from a glance they look really cool :)

Shadow Lodge

So very excited

Also, side note I looked at investigator, it's a really cool class, with the right talents you'd be a better skill monkey than a rogue

Dragon, you have me in the yellow as not completed, anything else I need to complete? I dont wish to miss the game because something isnt completed.

I believe originally it was the Golarian god. Thought these were issues that were asked to be addressed Thursday evening and I haven't seen him post since then so he may have checked the boards but not updated the list.

Nehama MoonBow wrote:

You're completed. It's a hold over I haven't updated.

I have a question, how would the automatic bonus progression work with a black blade from bladebound magus?

Edit: Nevermind, I forgot I had stuff to do today, so I don't have time to finish the character. Good luck to everyone and enjoy the game.

25 minutes left!!!

Good luck all....

And now the waiting begins.

Shadow Lodge

relevant

Oh, dear. XD

Now is the Time. Now is the Hour. Ours is the Magic. Ours is the Power.

This post is never easy, especially with so many offerings. Every character offered something that was both relevant to the game and intriguing. I could think of a ton of ways of taking the plot with each character, and how the different PCs would interact with each other in the greater narrative. There were so many good offerings, that I'm breaking my rule, and selecting a 7th character, because I couldn't bring myself to prune off any more. I tried gaming with 8 and realized, very quickly that I"m not the kind of GM that can handle 8 players. 7 is pushing it, but we'll see....

So, thank you all for the many PC offerings and the deep interest in this game. I'm honestly surprised and honored that ANYONE was interested in starting this crazy idea with me.

Again, thank you for all your interest. Happy gaming to all. And, congratulations to the Chosen.

The Chosen are...:

Iym
Nivian
Nehama Moonbow
Herrnarrell Leafblade
Hienris Flynn
Pero Elond
Sarissa

Chosen, please make Avatars and introduce yourselves in the discussion thread.

Happy gaming to all,

Dragonofashandflame

Thank you, Dragon, for consideration. Happy gaming.

Ah well, congrats to the chosen. And this is why I don't do background tie ins until picked. :)

In my experience, people tend to vanish from new games fairly quickly, if you have openings going forward, please feel free to contact me if you'd like Velden to hop in.

Shadow Lodge

Congratz to those of you who made it..

If you have openings, I'd love to fill them

I admit, little heartbroken I wasn't chosen, as Akor is so perfect for this type of game :(

Good luck to all those who made it, and please consider me should any drop.

Thank you for the pick.
