Back Story:

Areon was born in The Land of the Linnorm Kings, a brutal land of winter and water it is home to the Ulfen people and is as wild and untameable as the people who live there. It is a realm of taiga and marshland that spends much of the year frozen beneath layers of snow, a place utterly inhospitable to all but the hardiest people.

Mercenary work was his downfall, The Land of the Linnorm Kings was a place to make or break men, and the battle was the best place to make a name for yourself and make money. He signed up instantly after his family kicked him out of the home his mother and father telling him it was time to make room for his brothers and sisters and for him to make a home for himself, he was only 17.

His father gave him one gift, they great earthbreaker. The storeys his father would tell about it… he had used it to break down the gates to massive keeps. He gave it now to his oldest son and told him to return one day and tell him about his own stories.

It was good work, he picked out straight away. He lived he bled he worked it was harsh but he was Ulfen he wasn't like those in the south, they had it easy they were weak he fought for all he had. He killed men, he free men but he did it all for money. Helping old lords and kings of mountains and the like take lands they wanted.

It was a sudden realisation, he loved the feel of battle, the feeling of just losing yourself in the moment and descending into a bloody frenzy his people called men like him Berserkers, Barbarians as they were good for one thing and that was killing. The realization was he didn’t care who he killed, they would point him in the right direction and he would kill it was a small child crying for her father that hit him the hardest. In that moment he saw himself, he saw his brothers and sisters on his parent’s farm, and he snapped he lashed out at his ally’s betraying them for the enemy but he didn’t care he couldn’t let his rage take over anymore.

He was thrown out after he had recovered from the lashings he was thrown from the camp and made to walk with his shame – he couldn’t show his face back home he had nothing to show, his great stories couldn’t live up to his fathers. He was paid to kill and he had done some evil things.

So he headed south, he headed for Magnimar it was a place he knew would give him an easy life, but nothing is easy especially when you have no one looking out for you. He loved to drink and was more than happy to take the coin he would gain from the jobs and drink himself stupid.

He spent a few years cast from his homeland living in his own pity, he showed nothing but dishonor and he wallowed in it. Taking any job, he would be spending his money mostly on alcohol, he would live mostly on the outskirts of Magnimar, traveling the southern coast picking up hunting what he needed if there were no jobs for a washed-up mercenary.
On one wet night while looking for more work he spotted the poster. ‘Seeking Brave Explorers and Adventurers’ He had been brave once he had wanted to explore and go on adventures and make a name for himself. Looking down at the alcohol in his hands he drops the battle and rips of the poster. Brinewall Castle, he repeated it in his mind, ignoring the other bigger details and he set off with only the pack on his back and what gold he had saved up.

I see Aeron, as a broken man. He wanted nothing more than to be the best to make a name for himself to live up to his father's image. But he went too far. I'll be playing him as a brash man, but with hesitation. He is heading to the caravan to start over, he won't give up all his vices but he wants to make up for his past failures.

Hopefully finding something he can fight for, something he can believe in and getting a story worthy of the Ulfen people and to take back to his father.

Where is he going:

Aeron has no plans he is simply out for himself, he has no big story of how he single handily killed a dragon or how he slept with a beautiful princess after saving her country.

He is a simple man with simple needs, he’s lived most of his life alone out in the wilds – What little coin he makes is spent on food and beer one of his big past times is getting drunk. But there is always something missing, a purpose, he plays off being aloof and not caring but he needs something to push him forward or it’s just going to be an early grave with no one to sing of his deeds.

So he hopes out hoping to find a job that will mean something and not just be another way to get drunk and fight.

Looks:

Aeron is a tall and slender man but it's clear he’s strong, with the look of a brute about him covered in cuts and bruises. It’s also very clear he’s lived in the wilderness a lot in the way he dresses and smells looking half homeless and some crazy wildman. Not caring for nicety’s that come from living in a city, he spends his time where he wants with most of his jobs taking place away from most civilized people.

Short brown hair and dark eye's mark him as average with nothing special that makes him stand out. He is prone to getting angry and frustrated when things don’t go his way or he can’t get something right. But always tries to keep a level head, or he thinks he does.


Party Roll:

In combat he will be the front line, soaking up damage and dealing it out. He will hold the line and lock down enemy’s.

Out of combat, he will have tracking skills. A few bits of knowledge with survival and heal. I’ll be taking trap finding to help the party.
