As the man leads Barrack, Jimpy, and Ayla through the forest everyone except Barrack either sees or hears the othe group of people mentioned earlier. Ayla kindly points them out to Barrack as the move closer. Before you stands three humans(two of them women) and a half-elf lady. Next to one of the humans stands a tiger.
With the exception of Marco, everyone sees or hears the others moving towards them. There is a dwarven male, a male halfling mounted on one of the bird-like lizards running around the island, a half-elven women, and the man Tsu spotted earlier.
Except for Marco and Barrack, everyone saw the other group before they got to close.
Now, how would you like the idea of being connected to the FireWood Company like no one else? Please spoiler your reply.

Jimpy Ashetongue |

"Oooo! Look, Barak! A tiger and ladies! Which one would you choose? I'd choose the tiger because tigers are big and eat people and like chocolate and birds and I like birds and chocolate and eating people too!"
Jimpy the dino-riding halfling surges forward on his racing dinosaur and begins waving wildly at the new group. "Oh! Hello! Can I pet your tiger? Does it eat people? Does it like wearing bandanas and sugary cereals and promoting a corporate agenda in the name of childhood memories? Are you wild people? Do you wear pants? I used to not wear pants but then I got thrown in jail where they like you a little too much if you don't wear pants, so now I wear pants and burn people who get excited like that at the sight of me without pants!"

Selyne |

Upon sighting the group of others, Selyne does little more than coil tenser than she already is. Subtly shifting her grip upon her held javelin.
At the Half-lings verbal outburst, all she can do is frown, not really understanding more than one word in three. :P
Though slightly leery of the lizard the Half-ling rides, it does not stop her commenting,
"And that is why at first glance I thought there was a human child with the other group." Selyne stands ready and awaits further developments.
*Applauds* Jimpy for dragging a childhood character/memory kicking and screaming unto its horrible death by parody. :D

Tsu Kaori |

I have to agree with the DM here...I had to think hard about how to respond to your post, Jimpy, and I still don't know how to approach it...awesome post, if this board allowed sigs, your post would be my new sig. +1
Tsu is taken aback by the halflings amazing ability to speak without feeling the need to draw breath between sentences.
Senseing that Kiara is uneasy in front of this hlafling, Tsu copmmands her to "Come" "Stay" and "Down" to make sure that she won't attack anything without Tsu's command.
"Little one, I think I will answer all of your questions, I am getting the feeling that you are the sort of halfling that would prefer that to being talked down to, no pun intended."
Tsu takes a large breath and proceeds to answer the halfling's questions.
"No, my tiger, her name is Kiara by the way, does nto eat people, although occasionally she does rend their flesh with her teeth, when needed. Kiara certainly does not wear bandanas, or anyother clothes, other than her saddle, which allows her to make sure I am safe on our journeys, also, my horses tend to disappear, so I took to riding Kiara instead. I am a wild person yes, I live in the wilds, but not on this island, I am a tourist here, not unlike yourselves. And yes I wear pants, infact the pants I am wearing now are the best pair I own, made entirely from Dragon Leather. Oh, and if you wish to pat Kiara, then be careful, but go ahead."
Hoping that this sates the little halfling's curiosity for the time being, Tsu motions to the rest of the new group, and introduces herself.
"I am Tsu Kaori, and this here is Kiara, we were marooned here, and are a little worried about the local fauna, it seems to like man flesh."

Jimpy Ashetongue |

"Yep, some of the people here like to eat people. And there are big lizards and underground cities and cannibals, though no halflings have tried to eat me yet so I guess they're not really cannibals since you have to be the same species and I'm not and I haven't eaten any halflings so I'm not a cannibal but I guess if I ate a human I wouldn't be a cannibal either so maybe it's not so bad to eat humans and dwarfs and elves and monkeys, though not monkeys because they're cool and they can climb trees and swing from branches and throw poo and I wish I could throw poo but I can only throw fire and burn things and they don't like it when you burn things here which is too bad since they make a lovely sight when they burn, things that is, not poo or monkeys."

Selyne |

(O.o)
Selyne stares at the Half-ling, wondering how the small person can make so much noise without suffocating.....
She looks to the other members of this new group, wondering how to reply under Jimpy's verbal assault. She frowns as something occurs to her,
"What is this new word....'pants'?" She asks Marco.
Though as a player I do kind of look on in a little bit of awe at your amount/bulk/volume of posting.

Db3's Narrator |

Ayla looks at Jimpy with a tired expression on her face. She grins slightly, as if she can't help it.
"How can you speak so fast without breathing in?"
Knowing the answer would be as hard to decipher as his last little outbursts, Ayla turns to the Wildlings.
"I am Ayla Sylvia. It is nice to know that not everyone outside the mountain is eager to attack us."
5xp for whoever can guess whose skull is in the hand! ;)

Marco Adante |

Marco just stares dumbfounded on the chatty halfling.
"Well, you are quite the little talker aint you?" he says before bowing "The name is Marco. Marco Adante. I take it you were dumped on now is trapped on this horrible island as well?"
He turns to Selyne "Pants is.. well, pants. They are covering for your legs." he says while tugging his own.

Tsu Kaori |

Tsu wonders if this is really a good time to talk safely.
"Is there anywhere we can go that might be a little more safer, I am feeling a little worried about having my back to the jungle, and I'm not sure what actually happened to those big predatory lizards that were heading this way went."
Tsu dismounts from Kiara and takes not of her surroundings, looking for the danger that a large amount of small prey, like themselves, yould attract.

Selyne smiles, happy that the people to whom she has revealed herself understand the ways of life upon her island.
"We can always move and look for another, suitable tree?" She suggests. "Unless you have some other idea or knowledge?" Her question and gaze focused upon Ayla Sylvia.
Yay! Here's to the group getting together and getting into the adventure! ^_^

At least you aren't meeting in a tavern... :D
Ayla returns the gaze as she answers.
"Well, I have not been on this island for long. If you know of a suitable place we can talk, please lead the way."
Her gaze shifts away as she scans the forest, stopping to stare at something a few times, before she brings her gaze back to the group.
Having stayed silent for the better part of the conversation, the man steps forward with a suggestion.
"If memory serves me, there should be a decent sized cave close by. Unless one of the smaller animals have claimed it as their own, it should be a good enough place for a chat."

Jimpy Ashetongue |

"Ooo! Caves, I like caves! I found a dragon in a cave once! Well it wasn't really a dragon it was a dragon shaped rock, but it looked like a dragon and it had really big teeth and really big claws and it tried to set my hair on fire and told me that it wanted its money back and that it would follow me to the end of the earth and eat my head and it stole my wallet and gave me some sort of rash. Wait, maybe that wasn't a dragon. Oh right, now I remember! It was my first girlfriend! She had pretty eyes...." Jimpy seems to lose himself for a moment, then snaps back with a "Ooo! Butterflies!"

Marco Adante |

"I have been staying in a cave that would suit our needs. Follow me, it's not long i assume"

After having lead them around, studying the ground for tracks meanwhile, for about ten minutes he stands up. "I could have sworn it was this way.."

Db3's Narrator |

"A good try for one of the cityborn. But you are leading us a bit too far to the West, if your cave is the one I'm thinking of. The only trouble we may have is the axebeak living in that area, but I'm sure this group is more than capable of handling it."
Once he has found the right direction, the trip to the cave is not hard one. By the time you reach it though, you notice the man is gone. Strange, considering you were following him...

Tsu Kaori |

Tsu is amazed that the man she was following has disappeared, defaulting to her wilderness knowledge and affinity, Tsu automatically traces his tracks if there are any, and tries to pinpoint the exact moment he disappeared.

After pointing out the tracks to her companions, Tsu, Hoping to get some time alone with Ayla, drops back a little to talk with her, her voice low enough to not be heard as people talk about what could have happened to the old man.

If they tracks he left are accurate, he left before the group could even see the cave, a good 30 yards away from it.

Tsu Kaori |

Tsu mentions that the tracks lead to a point 30 yards away from visual distance from the cave, and then disappear.
"Did anyone actually know the man at all, would he have been able to protect himself on his own here? Or on the other side of the coin, was he a man of a kind and good inclination, or is he prone to spouts of murderous rage?"
Tsu looks around for any sign of the man, even looking up to see if he was grabbed by some large tree dwelling predator or enemy.

As Selyne looks about the forest, she sees.. nothing. No axebeak trying to hide in the underbrush, no birds flying above between the trees. About the time she realizes this, everyone notices that the forest is silent.
Marco got the axebeak earlier, and I edited my 'exposition' into the post.

Selyne |

*bows* Still here. Watching and waiting for things to pick up. Having had other games drop due to various factors I will NOT give up on any game I start unless there is a horrendously good reason. I shall be with every one here until the end (Or the death of the character ;) )

Selyne |

Are we down to just we three? I do know that the player of Tsu is having some Real Life difficulties. Hmmm, perhaps time for another boat load of nae-r-do wells and miscreants to arrive? (^_~)
Selyne reaches out and brushes fingertips against the dust and grime of the walls, as she traces out what lays beneath.

Lying beneath the dust on the walls are runes, which seem to have be cut into the wall with expert care. Wiping away even more dust reveals the runes are on each wall. They are not in a language you know...
*bows to DM*
As she brushes her hands together to swipe away some of the dust Seylne speaks up,
"There are markings here, art or symbols of some sort?" Her voice easily conveying her puzzlement. She steps back and peers into the dark, trying to gauge just how extensive the carvings are, her fisted hands resting upon her hips. .
As for Selyne not being able to understand the carvings, that's no surprise for the Jungle Girl. :P

Selyne |

Selyne moves back to stand almost shoulder to shoulder with Dao, tilting her head as if the distance and angle might give some meaning to the squiggles that have been discovered. Though she does glance to the other woman in the hopes that the stranger can understand the marks dug into the stone.
Posting along with the other posters. Um so do we need a new ship to come in? Two characters to face off against an island of hungry lizards doesn't quite sound like enough. ;)
