You are in a forest/jungle. There are plenty of trees to climb and hide in. Now you just have to get the city boy up one! :)

Selyne selects a suitable tree in which the group can 'roost'. Something large and high enough that even Kiara should both feel comfortable in as well as not easily be seen.

Spot Check:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Survival Check:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18

When it comes time to climb, Selyne unwinds her whip and deftly flicks the weapon up towards a branch where it cleverly catches a limb. Then using it for extra 'leverage' (As well as its animated properties) she quickly ascends.

Climb Skill+'assistance':1d20 + 11 ⇒ (17) + 11 = 28

Peering at the rest of the group from her perch she looks to Marco,

"If you need help, I have rope." She calls down.

Female Human Druid 7

"Very Well, Selyne, lead the way, although, we may have a small problem, both Kiara and I aren't very proficiant in climbing."

Tsu looks abashed and embarrassed.

"You see, Kiara and I are ground based beings, the trees don't seem to agree with us very much."

Intelligence check to remember something1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

"Hmm...something in my memory eludes me, I was doing something before, i just can't remember what it was."

Tsu srugs and motions for Selyne to lead the way to safer ground to continue their conversation and perhaps even to answer all their questions.

Tsu sees the trees that Selyne points out and decides that now is as good a time as any to try and get into the tree. Tsu then commands Kiara to climb the trees and attempts to climb the large piece of vegetation as well.

Tsu Climb Check (untrained and assisted by Selyne)1d20 - 7 + 2 ⇒ (16) - 7 + 2 = 11
Kiara Climb Check (untrained)1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

Male Human Rogue3/ Swashbuckler3/ fighter1

Marco looks up at Selyne and mimics her voice "If you need help i have rope" very low so the others probably won't hear. He then grab a branch with big confidence and starts to pull himself up. Suddenly he grab a weak branch, making both it and himself tumble to the ground.

"Not as easy as scaling roofs.. You still got that rope?" he calls to Selyne.

Climb 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11

Perfect timing for a nat 1 :D

Elf, Ranger: 4, Sorceres: 1

Watching Marco's attempt at climbing all she can do is frown.

Marco Adante wrote:
"Not as easy as scaling roofs.. You still got that rope?" he calls to Selyne.

With naught but a raised eyebrow she quickly draws the hammer from her 'harness', pulling a piton or two from other pockets. With practiced strikes she drives the spikes into the tree, affixing the rope and dropping the end to those below who need it.

"There you are!" She calls down "Though I'm not used to tying knots for others." She warns, unlimbering her whip again and using it to add strength in securing the rope.

Well, soon our group should be safe and enjoying each others stories. *bows*

When Marco does perch upon the branch along with Tsu, Dao and Kiara one of her first questions is,

"What's a roof?" She crouches on the wide branch looking at Marco intently as she awaits his explanation. ^.~

F Human Monk7

Looking up at thhe tree, the ring on Dao's hand seems to hum momentatily as she gathers her legs under her and jumps to grab a high branch, attemting to swing around it as her handss connect.

"What happened to the part where we make friends with the savage lizard kings?!? My plan was so much better and totally involved more eating people." Jimpy is quiet for a moment. "I hereby declare muself Lizard King of the Island of Big Lizards with Big Roars and People Who Don't Like it When You Set Fire To Their Granaries!"

Female Human Druid 7

Tsu takes meassure of her new found companions.

"A roof, quite simply Selyne, is a covering above you to keep the rain out."

Tsu absent mindedly scratches Kiara behind her ears.

"So, now I can explain a few things, Selyne." Tsu takes a deep breath and tells her tale to Selyne, explaining the event which led to the island and the injustice done to her.

"In short, people seem to be using this island as a prison, a place to send people they don't want. And we seem to be some of those people."

Intelligence check to remember what Tsu was doing before meeting Selyne 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12

During her recollection of her tale, Tsu recalls that she and Kiara were tracking a heavy humanoid and child like tracks.

"Selyne, have you seen anyone else go past here? I saw tracks in the ground as I was approaching, like a stout or tall person, and someone the size of a small child."

Tsu silently accuses herself of idiocy at getting distracted.

Elf, Ranger: 4, Sorceres: 1

Selyne watches the great cat haul itself into the branches, marveling slightly at the great beasts claws as they become natural pitons. She smiles to Tsu when the other woman also arrives in the tree.

Marco's climbing performance brings naught but assistance from Selyne, she is cool and efficient in helping the man into the branches. When he's settled she goes about retrieving her rope and pitons.

It is all she can do but raise her eyebrows and nod in appreciation as Doa's acrobatic form seems more to leap into the trees than climb.

At Tsu's explanation of what a Roof is, all Selyne does is frown a little, then as Tsu continues to settle in with Kiara and expand upon her explanation with the tales of Tsu's origin. Selyne wiggles around upon a branch, lying down and stretching out to enjoy the dappled suns rays through the tree top canopy.

Tsu Kaori wrote:

At this more direct question, Selyne folds her arms beneath her chin and replies

"Yes, the smaller foot prints belong to a half-ling, there is a Dwarf and an Elf also. They came on the great sky..." She pauses, frowning obviously working through some thought in her mind, "...Um, boat." She nods at the new word. "I saw them enter the Gnome-hill." She rises with one arm and twists to point in the indicated direction with another then relaxes again and looks to Marco and Dao, seeming patient to wait for them to begin their tales.

F Human Monk7

"I tried to help a woman who was being attacked by a group of men. I think I killed them....except one. The mayor's son. They sent me here."

Dao speaks simply and openly.

"Well i woke after a rather.. wet.. night by a hard knocking on my door. A few moments later the knocking was done on my head. I woke up in a dungeon where i was told i was accused of raping two women and killing their families. unfortunately i can't remember a thing." he pause and look around, then burst into a grin "But come on.." he says indicating himself with his hands "Why would i need to break into a house and rape a woman?"

"Well, we'll just keep that a secret from ol' Seelie, okay? He seems to think he gives the orders around here, something he is very wrong about. I assume everything went well?"

The man from earlier walks into view, a long scratch on his left arm.

Selyne nods once in response.

When Marco boisterously finishes his short tale and sits looking at the three all Selyne does in reply is rise up to a sitting position, legs dangling from either side of the branch as she point to herself,

"I am Selyne." Then she sweeps her tanned arms to the jungle around them.

"You say being sent here is a bad thing, but this I do not understand. This is where I live, there is food to be picked from the trees, animals to hunt and kill as you need. There is water to drink and swim in and shelter against the larger killers and against the storms to be found when the season comes." She frowns slightly,

"I have watched as many times the boat has come and thrown your people onto the sands. I simply watch and see what they do. Many quickly turn on each other, no better or worse than the lizards, others run and disappear into the jungle." She shrugs uncommitted and seemingly uncaring, "Perhaps they find the Gnomes, perhaps the other island animals find them." She arches an eyebrow,

"You are the first people I have approached." She doesn't hide the admiration in her eyes when she looks at the form of Kiara, "Many times have I seen new people, but never have I seen such a magnificent creature as Kiara." She grins, "Who is certainly much more pleasant to look upon than Bobo the lake lizard."

Um, to what has the time of day become?

Um, camping/resting for the night/late in the day?

Her attention turns again, "What's a rape?" She folds her legs up beneath herself looking at Marco intently as she awaits his explanation.

Male Human Rogue3/ Swashbuckler3/ fighter1

"I certainly prefer a soft bed and good warm meal served to me."

"to rape, is to force yourself sexually upon someone. It's very frowned upon in society, and if you ask me rightly so. If she says no, don't sulk. Just move on to the next."

At Marco's explanation all Selyne does is frown again,

"Your worlds sound little different from mine, except the people have become the Lizards." She comments philosophically on every one else's tales.

"What are you thinking of doing now?" She asks the three others, to the Druid she asks,

"Tsu, why are you interested in a Half-ling? Something to do with caring for Kiara?"

Sorry for that almost bad/naughty direction that conversation was going, will try and not do that again. *bows in applogy*

It was handled wonderfully by you and Marco. Nice job.

Female Human Druid 7

Tsu laughs at Selyne's comment about feeding her companion halflings, and continues to scratch Kiara under the chin.

"No, no, Kiara and I usually hunt for our food, people aren't on the menu, mainly any animal the size of those lizards that attacked us before."

Tsu the realises that Selyne mantioned a halfling, a dwarf and an elf.

"The reason I'm asking, is that I was tracking them before, if they were nice enough, I was thinking about maybe staying with them until I can get home."

Tsu then gestures around the small impromptu party they have banded together and smiles.

"But I can see that the people here are going to be more than enough to survive. For a little while at least."

Marco scoff at Tsu's mention of escape.

"Home? You really think you will ever see your home again? There is a reason they dropped us on an island and not in a jail cell"

Listening to this Selyne frowns.

"The only way a single person might survive the dangers of the deep is to catch back onto the ship when it returns to throw more people away." She suggests. Looking off into the jungle she shrugs,

"I have never thought about such things." Her voice is softer as she speaks now.

F Human Monk7

Dao looks at Marco intently, showing no amusement at his humor.

"Yes," says Ayla.

"Good. By any chance, would you know that four people were following the large carnivores? They are currently in a tree not 20 minutes run from here. Perhaps you'd like to meet them before we return to Agartha? They are a.. rather diverse group if appearance is anything to judge by.""

"Ooo! New people! Hiding in the trees? Are they monkey people? I had a monkey once, he wore a little sailor suit and danced for peanuts. I like peanuts. They're small, crunchy, and taste great! Almost as good as monkeys! Where are they?"

Male Dwarf Barbarian 7

Sorry I've been so quiet lately. Just started a new full-time job while continuing to work my part-time job so my free time has gone WAAAAAAY down.

Barrak looks at Jimpy and shakes his head again.

"Peanuts, monkeys, what are you talking about?"

Barrak then looks in the direction of Ayla and scratches his beard.

"Well, if they are friendlier than that psycho who tried to gut you we should at least say 'ello, otherwise I say we let Jimpy here burn them to a crisp."

Female Human Druid 7

sorry about the hiatus, medical problems, I can post now though *shudders at the thought of more needles*

Tsu doesn't laugh at Marco's attempt at humour, instead, scoffing at his blatant unhappiness in his current surroundings.

"I'm afraid to say, that despite this place being populated by overgrown lizards, this place might even be hospitable for a while...I suppose I shall see what happens as it comes."

spot check:1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26

Tsu
While up in the tree with the others, you see a man in simple clothing watching you for a moment. He doesn't seem to mean you any harm and after a few moments, he heads off in the direction the biggest lizards went.

This is the same guy talking to the other group. To avoid confusion, this happened then he went to tell the others about you.

P.S: Needles..[/shudders]. Don't understand why they won't just let me drink the medicine instead...

Female Human Druid 7

Tsu points excitedly in the direction of the man, almost falling out of the tree in the process.

"Hah, there, another man, over there, in simple clothing, he just looked at us, as if curious about who we are, and then he just headed off in that direction, do you think we should follow? More people means more of a chance of surviving this place."

Tsu then waits to hear what everybody else has to say before making her decision.

Selyne springs lithely to her feet, balancing easily upon the wide branch from years of practice.

"Most people who are thrown from the boat are not as nice as you seem to be. We should follow, just in case he plans an ambush or some other form of attack against us." The whip wound around her arm and waist uncurls, seemingly unbidden and of its own volition, wrapping one end to grip the tree limb, the other end firmly now within her grasp.

Lets meet up with the Half-ling, the Dwarf and the Elf. Now if only there were a tavern about we would have the beginnings of a very funny tale. :P

F Human Monk7

"Agreed but we should be cautious." Dao quickly climbs down from the tree.

"Ooo, let's go find the new people! Do you think they're flammable? Most people are if you apply enough fire!" Jimpy will look into the air and fire a scorching ray into the air, aiming for a passing bird or bat or moon.

He laughs.

"You are an... ecentric halfling, aren't you?"

Scowling at the man's choice of words, Ayla follows the man back the way he came, being careful to keep Jimpy in sight lest he burn down a tree.

As the Wildlings*, manages to get everyone out of the tree, they all notice the strange silnce that has fallen over the jungle. It is not an eerie silence though, but more like a quiet calm. The same silence is "heard" by the FireWood Company.*

And as if that wasn't enough i'm going away on vacation tomorrow morning. I will have a computer with me, but the signal is very weak so don't expect any post from me. I just wanted to say that i'm still with you.
