I love passive checks. I, uh...uhh..oh good, I have a perception bonus. Usually I don't, because I don't like to make perception rolls. Don't tell my regular people that, I'm sure they'd be upset.
I just assume, on a regular basis, the 10+bonus for my dming stuff. Cause that's about a normally aware person would get. But you roll whatever you want and I'll see if I can shred with my poor dice rolls.
You better believe I'll be going for full, open-chested description in my posts. No shirt, no problem.

Handling passive checks that way certainly makes sense to me.
I'm more in favour of character-specific things being behind spoiler tags, but it isn't going to upset me if they aren't.
I'll shoot for having my character finished and moved over to my alias tomorrow. I'm sort of considering using a different name/alias, which is why I haven't done it yet.

Gameplay thread is now existing. Writer's block and a cold have conspired to keep me away from focus, so if all of you would be so kind, please make your opening posts. Your motivation:
• Your skills have allowed you to stand out. As such, you have been hired as part of the guard for various merchants making their way to Aspenthar in Thuvia for the next auction of the Sun Orchid elixir. You do not have a date for the auction, but much of the talk seems to imply that these merchants are arriving earlier than the usual. Perhaps to get ahead, or perhaps because of business.
You've gained your level during this travel, fending off dangers or taking in what knowledge you can gain, but the end of your destination is in sight.

The only questions that remain are, "In what coin would you be paid?" and "Where will your curiosity lead you?"

A note on Heat hazards since all of you are traveling in the desert. I'm generally taking ten for all of you and going in order:
• Survival(+5 or higher) gets @10 for the +2 Fort bonus for surviving environmental hazards.
• Traveling adjacent to the caravan will grant an additional +2, so for the most part, everyone is (mostly) covered, barring extreme circumstances.
• Fortitude saves (again, taking 10) for traveling while not overly exerting yourselves.
I also realized I should note my terminology.

How's the pacing? I'm trying to convey a sense of the situation while allowing you to react without dragging it on or moving too fast.
