What I meant by the Mind Blank quote was that the thing looking through the Storm's eyes means that it only knows that SOME of us stopped it.
This can be used to our advantage.
Also, Tumbler, I just wanted some people to settle accounts or do a "going to sleep/waking up" post. The whole reason I had Jacob mention a bar in Absalom would be to head over and wade in plot hook infested waters.
Sir Orrin Neville-Smythe
Argh, finally catching up. I haven't read through the in game posts yet, but I wanted to say something that I've been pondering (which may well solve tumbler's "ring the doorbell of our demiplane" issue...
...one can only get there if they already know where to look...
...did we do anything to prevent the entity that seemed to be watching us through the Beasties senses to continue doing so? If it can see through it's eyes, could it also hear, taste, smell, feel, and maybe even use other extrasensory senses while the thing was unconscious?
We may have inadvertently given a total stranger, an entity powerful enough to control, or at least use a Spawnagug as a personal toy/scrying device, the pathway or a road-map to this new demiplane we just created.
*shrugs*
*heads over to catch up on in-gmae posts*

That's why I brought up a celebration in Absalom. Some of us have Mind Blank active, but the scryer probably knows, anyway. But yeah, we won't need to deal with knockers on our door to advance the plot if we head outside. Just wanted to give the chance to make a sleeping/waking up post if they so wanted.

It couldn't use the sensing through the spawn to get a lock on the demiplane. Once the dead magic goes up, it takes a deity to find the plane, all divination spells simply fail.
Another reason why Validk's demiplane requires you to enter through a dead magic plane. When you go in, any planar divinations get disconnected.
Heading through the demiplane and out the other side should make it harder to re-establish a connection.
The only other way to know where a demiplane is: have a tuning fork that has been tuned to the demiplane.
Validk and Nagato would have one, since they created and worked on the plane.
Nagato the Eternal
Based on everything I have read, the prison demiplane is also as close to permanent as you can get. You have to undo the permanency to collapse it, but no mortal magic functions there, so that task would probably also take the power of a deity.
I suppose whatever was watching us could Gate in, but it would need the correct information before hand. Nagato only opened one successfully because she had Jacob - a local resident with a tuning fork tuned to Val's plane - assisting her in that matter. Moreover, I can see her having helped out designing the place at certain points in the past.
For Nagato, she plans to ask Golarion and/or Irori some questions about the attack via Commune. I am debating whether to get a scroll of said spell and have Mira use her archetype cornerstone to avoid expending it or just having Nagato get in a slew of questions via a Miracled Commune. I suppose it's a matter of how frequently I plan to use the spell. While much more expensive, getting a scroll basically opens the option up forever. Using Miracle is much faster, gets a lot of questions at once, and is dirt cheap, but also burns the material component forever.

My question is that, if some of Sir Orrin's equipment takes up to a week in wearing to work, does he sleep in his armor?
I was also thinking of having Jake treat everyone to breakfast in the morning. Relative to me and the characters. Would be a nice way to celebrate.
EDIT: Also, Nagato, that would be a great way to fish out some answers. Though I'm unaware of which method would be best for you.

I would imagine in Absalom you could find almost any kind of entertainment. I might recommend the exotic animal races and rodeo (no horses, of course). Nothing like seeing a grippli tame a bucking giant centipede.
If you are looking for something more cultured, I'm sure there are performances of classic or new operas to attend. There is a new comedic opera concerning the Hurricane King of the Shackles stealing the Sun Orchid Elixer from a Chelish Archduke.
Of course it might be nice simply to sit on a balcony above the smell and noise of the city and sip mimosas while catching up for a while.

Given the proximity to Garund, I wouldn't be surprised to see something that combines Afro-caribe rhythms with the melodies of Bach or Beethoven. This sort of thing was going on in New Orleans during the 1800's and was a precursor to the Jazz of the early twentieth century. You would expect this sort of thing from Garundi musicians performing for the working class (dock workers maybe) after the more formal performances at operas, dances, or other social events for the upper class.
(That rare moment when ethnomusicology class is useful).

Tumbler, you are a gentleman and a scholar. Or a lady. I don't think we've ever properly been introduced in that sort of regard.
Now, though, I need to figure out if Jake would take his friends to the kind of places he likes or the more high end places that would lead to impress them. He does have a reputation...
aceDiamond
Alright, I guess there's time to find out as the game progresses.
Anyways, I'll go with the opera. If they can get a balcony box, then they can still talk a bit while the performance goes on. Plus, they could always hit the Garundi musicians after the show. Sometimes the best performers get the later time slots anyways.

I figure I might as well start formally designing Ms. N's own personal demiplane. Unlike Valdik, she never really bothers to permanency to the place due to how costly it is. She just recasts Greater Create Demiplane every two weeks or so even though she can make it last nearly a month.
It's called the Vault of Samsara. It's a small stone fortress that looks like it came right out of old Thassilon. Given how awkward storage issues can be, Nagato and Mira only occasionally stay there. They normally prefer crashing in old Thassilonian ruins that Ms. N has cleared out. Currently, Mira's real body and Nagato's other followers are hanging out in one such location.

Alright, I guess Jacob's shops would go by the Exotic Artisan or Magic Shop pre-built buildings. Would need to turn the storage area in the former to a vault. Dunno entirely yet, I guess I should make a setting at some point.
I'll have to put some ideas together for the demiplane, still, but it's of little consequence at this exact point in time. I can think of a few things that would work, like an Artisan's Workshop and a Magical and Book Repository. Sitting Room. I'll work on it.
Though, that pales to the opera we have to get to at the moment.

Hmmm, okay, I think I understand some of these things. I have no clue how to pay for these things using goods, influence, and labor, but I think this block adds up.
Create 49 Goods, 1 Influence, 45 Labor (1,910 gp)
Rooms 1 Artisan's Workshop, 1 Bedroom, 1 Lavatory, 1 Sitting Room, 1 Vault, 1 Storefront, 1 Sewer Access (Iron door)
It's not a lot, mostly just modified from a premade building, but I feel like it makes sense. Now I just need to find how many shops to make and where.
As for Jake's personal demiplane, I think it'd look a bit like this.
Create 51 Goods, 6 Influence, 46 Labor, 4 Magic (2,520 gp)
Rooms 1 Bath, 1 Bedroom, 1 Book Repository, 1 Lavatory, 1 Magical Repository, 1 Sitting Room, 1 Workstation
I'd add a sewer access to the demiplane, but I'm not sure if there is a sewer involved. Just was thinking that the amenities would be nice. Of course, Jake still has Mage's Magnificent Mansion, so some of these concerns aren't even necessary. Still, it's nice to have these things around. I'll just subtract the demiplane total from Jake's current wealth and get to the number of Radigan Marts later.
Validk Ghujod
Paying with goods, influence, and labor is the 'downtime' campaign function. For instance, if we decided that we would have a month of downtime after having put Storm away, then you would be able to look at earned GIL, and use it to expand your holdings.
Since we haven't set that we are/are not using the downtime rules, just stick to the gold piece cost.
Figure out what the basic components of a Radigan's Mart, then start noting where they are.
Since I'm looking at Magnimar as my major establishment with the school located there, and Absalom as my secondary HQ, I'm focusing on them, and will probably adjust and down size the outlying areas later.
As for the demiplane, one of the options of creating the demiplane is a structure.
aceDiamond
I guess that the structure would make sense for some parts of the demiplane, but it wouldn't necessarily cover Jake's books in the repositories.
As for Radigan-Mart, I was thinking of the workshop and the vault behind the stormfront. The lavatory and sewer access would probably be tangential to the storefront but reserved for paying customers only, of course. The rest of the things, I was thinking to stick them over the shop itself. Since Jake's backstory is a rags-to-riches sort of affair, I was thinking the Absalom store would be his family shop, which would've been where the family would've lived out of before the focus shifted from woodworking to magic items. I guess I should put together another setup for shops outside Absalom as well, since they would probably be the most legitimate seeming stores.
I'll try and find a way to make a visual layout in the near future. Just need to find out how to accurately create the blueprints.

he went straight sorcerer 25.
As noted on his sheet, he chose a 10th level slot at 21st level, an 11th level slot at 23rd level, and then at 25th level he took two spell slots of any level he can cast, selecting 10 and 11.
Thus he has 2 10th and 2 11th level spell slots.
These are not used for epic spells, but for applying metamagic feats to higher level spells (like quickening a 7th level spell).
aceDiamond
Epic level spellcasting. It gets pretty nuts. That was the whole reason I didn't take a template or a base creature before adding class levels, I wanted as many spells and spell slots as I could get.
Though I couldn't have gotten 10th and 11th spell slots at level 25. Reason I have extra ones was because Herald allowed the use of this chart for bonus spells per day past 9th due to a higher spellcasting stat. It was mentioned in the FAQ that Herald set up, but I think the caveat was that I had to have at least one spell slot from post-lvl 20 spellcasting in order to benefit from bonus spells for that level. Meaning that I wouldn't get 12th and 13th level bonus spells until I use an odd numbered level to attain either of those spell slots on my own.
Granted, this was a ruling that was brought over from Herald's days, but I was under the impression that Tumbler gave the OK to the things in the FAQ. I just remember back then asking if there were a way to get bonus spells per day due to spellcasting stat, since Pathfinder epic level material isn't terribly explored. If you or Tumbler are against using the chart, I could understand and amend Jacob's spell slots per day before those spells get used.

Ace, check out the Sleeves of Many Garments. That's what Katja has. It makes it easier to find something to wear when all that limits you is your imagination.
aceDiamond
Well, CDL, when you get extra hammers, everything looks like a nail.
And thanks, Vixen. Though currently Jake's wrists have a Bracelet of Bargaining. But still, that's a good find in magic items. Might need to use it for another character.
