Lol, I think we're doubling up in a couple of places. Kind of expect it in Absolom. But I'm planing to be trading in fine foods/wines and other exotics.
I'm fine with where ever you pick. But just know that if there are characteristics of a place that is cannon (from an official Paizo sourcebook) its going to take precedence. I.e. The government of Timbuktu confiscates all magical potions on Wednesdays.
GMV, my university is in Mangimar. So pick someplace else!!! :)
Unless you want to split the cost and run it as a joint venture?

Fnord, I've shifted some funds around. I'll be adding Furnishings to a couple rooms in all my marts. At the moment, though, I still don't have much canon material about these cities. The wiki only gives so much information and most of what I know is the alignment of the cities I picked so far, mostly neutral or lawful neutral. If there are specifics to those cities you could tell me about, such as laws against magic items or the like, I'd appreciate knowing now.
So far, I picked metropolises and trade ports. Does this seem pretty reasonable?

Ugh, decisions decisions. Both two and three sound really fun. Two would certainly be good for Jacob's business acumen, but I think I'll go with Option 3. Ancient ruins hold the possibility of long forgotten items to unearth.
On rebuilding notes, I'll stat out some stuff for Jacob's employees and crafters. They'll probably need a barracks or some sort of place to sleep, I'd gather. I'll update everything relevant and necessary within the next couple hours. Barring the possibility my train shuts down.

Updated the shops so far. Paid for five of them at the aforementioned cities. Probably should find one or two more places to drop a franchise. As for workers, I have no idea if I aught to buy lodgings or just think they'd deal with it on their own salary. Thoughts, Fnord? What would you want me to do?

Good to see you around Nagato!
It's not as much what I want you to do,m but what you would like for your background. The different options are just methods of introducing the story to different types of characters.
Pick one and own it. All roads will be leading to the same adventure anyway.
And if tumblr is still lurking about, he should consider putting together his own character and jumping in.

I would rather that be a unanimous decision, future DMs can allow/disallow downtime without impact to the PC for an adventure. Mythic is another level of complexity all on its own.
Having said that, I am for it. I would suggest that we either flashback a week to having a meeting with the deity of our choice after handling the spawn of rovagug, or I could introduce it at some point during the upcoming adventure.

Fnord, I don't know much in terms of factions within the Pathfinder society. Could you get me a link where I could look up factions?
I'm sorry for this sort of thing, I just don't have a lot of experience with the Golarion world setting. Most the games I've played have had homebrew settings and there wasn't even a Society presence. My research into the Society so far said there was a strong Pathfinder Society presence in Absalom, though. Is there a faction an Absalom native would be likely to get swept up in?
EDIT: Alright, I think that as a merchant, Jacob would throw himself in with Qadira. Though if that seems too extreme in it's ruthlessness for everyone else's tastes, I think he'd be fine with the Grand Lodge faction.

Haven't forgotten about you GMV, at the same time that I am working on the next quest, I'm also trying to figure out the downtime rules.
I had started by completely customizing every shop, I scrapped that and went to off the shelf buildings with a few mods here and there.
Hopefully I can have that part finished up today.

Let's keep in mind that the long term goal was to find immortality.
The Decemvirate are rumored to be immortal. Whether this is innate, or a function of their Decemvirate Helms (artifacts) is a subject of much debate.
If Jacob were a member of the Qadira faction, why is his headquarters not in Katapesh?
Jacob could know any of the venture-captains well based on his past accomplishments for the society (what are they?)

Those are good questions. I would think that his background of rags to riches gives him a sentimentality to the first family store, which is why it is the flagship of the Radigan marts. Moving his family from their home to Katapesh certainly seems like it would be unnecessarily cruel to someone who has the Family Ties drawback. So I guess that out of all of this, Jacob should have his ties stay in Abasalom with the Grand Lodge.
As for contacts, maybe some acquaintances like Adril Hestram, Eliza Petulengro, and Ambrus Valsin would make sense. Nieford Sharrowsmith and Luna Aldred may be other acquaintances from what I can gather, who Jake may have had the honor of meeting while adventuring away from his home city.
And I'm as ready to jump on the search for immortality as much as anyone. Just waiting on more posts.

Well I'm looking at the tiny online map and its looking like 500 miles from Absalom straight to Manaket.
At 250' per round, a dragon can go 2500' per minute, or 150,000' per hour, which translates to 28.41 miles per hour.
So 500 miles would take something around 18 hours of flight time. Of course that doesn't account for bursts of speed. A boat takes a week from Absalom to Manaket, another 3 days to Azir.
***************
If you are learning any of this, describe how in your post.
Whether by querying agents, divination, repeated teleportation attempts (let me know if you use regular teleport), or anything else I haven't mentioned. (If you try plane hoping in, post up to activating the spell to come back to Golarion.)
Rahadoum from the Napsune Mountains to the Uta river, and from the barrier wall to the ocean are affected.
Whatever the effect is, it's blocking teleportation effects. Divination are having a hard time locking onto specifics. And it gets worse the further away from the ocean you get.
If it was easy, anyone could do it.

I finally found a way for a monk to bypass DR from Cold Iron to Epic. +4/5 Amulet of Mighty Fists plus Bane Baldric. Only works for five rounds, but those five rounds are awesome.
