Now that you mention it, I think it's since we came out of the sand storm. That must have been what was interfering with teleportation spells.
Validk starts getting excited, you know that means? There must have been a coterminous zone! But I don't recognize this plane.
Jacob paused, weighing how to respond to his old friend without losing too much face. "Right, one of those... Val, could you explain that a bit more, the heat is making me forget things. What's coterminous with what now? Are you saying we shifted planes?"
Jake looked around further. Besides the outcropping and and rock formation, there was only sand as far as the eye could see. "Not like we have much to work with in identification. Might as well say this is the land of sun and sand and be done with it until something pops up to correct us." He gave a sigh, leaning against one of the fractured rocks jutting from the ground. "Which makes me wonder what the chances of any rescue really are in this new light."
Validk had been lost in thought as he contemplated this idea. yeah... umm, basically, we're not on Golarion anymore. During certain stellar events some planes will have their boundaries 'soften' or in this case actually overlap. When that happens it becomes very easy to cross from one plane to another.
Validk licks a finger and holds it up, watching and feeling as the breeze and heat wick the moisture away. I don't think this is an elemental plane, it doesn't seem to have any alignment effects either. Maybe another material plane?
Validk squints and looks up at the two suns, the brighter of which is setting quickly. I haven't heard of such a place. Any of you feeling anything that might be a planar effect?
The mage shrugged. "Can't say I'm familiar with any planes sporting two suns. Maybe this is a custom job? Would probably take some powerful magic to replicate this, though."
"And just when I thought I have seen everything," Nagato mumbles to herself. "So now what? We have been wandering with few leads and no actual purpose. I am growing tired of it."
"Discern Location, Scrying, one of your Miracles. They're all spells I simply don't know. Worst case scenario, we should make camp and try to find out what happened and where are we tomorrow morning."
Jacob started towards the outcropping. The shade looked like an inviting reprieve from the harsh and constant sun.
"All things go well and we should rid ourselves of this desert soon enough. Hopefully."
