The Heavenly Discs

Game Master Elf King

In the world(s) of the Discs, a great power is, unbeknownst to the people, rising on Shkhari, the desert disc.

Occultist looks interesting and i think it has 3/4 base attack bonus so it would work with the secondary melee

Witch would be better for debuff, they are champs at that with the sleep hex

Yeah, witches are awesome
Can everyone post the category their character for my reference
Either: Tank, Skill monkey, Divine caster, Arcane caster, or Misc

Knife combat both throwing and melee, divine caster offensive focused magic.

@Redelia-Sorry to lose you, but totally respect your choice.

@Anya-I apologize, I had forgotten you'd posted about going with magic knife throwing orcle

On the concept of character-type indecision, I'm still debating between elven witch or occultist. Either, way, I'll try to ensure some ability to provide secondary melee assistance, but probably more buff/debuff/control (still deciding) as the focal area.

Okay, I didn't know if a Greatsword wielding fighter would still be relevant.

Of course it is! You might even ask the GM for some "steampunk flavor" options like it's a telescoping blade so it works like a mechanical version of a lightsabre or maybe it's a sword embellished by gears and levers that help make it more well-balanced than an ordinary sword (particularly if you spent the money to make it masterwork).

EDIT: elf witch as melee would be boosted by using wooden weapons (+1 attack and damage) and a feat in weapon focus for another (+1 to hit) and weapon finesse

Combination tank and skill monkey?

Scarab Sages

@GM Mandarin-Would a sword cane with a wooden sword be acceptable as a weapon? Would the wooden blade have any sort of drawbacks/penalties?

EDIT: And do I correctly assume that elves don't get the proficiency in longswords, bows, etc. as they do in standard Pathfinder? I assume the +1 on wooden weapons is the trade off for that?

@Fillion: Yes, it does replace that special trait. And a wooden sword only gains bonuses if an elf has it, and the elf only gets bonuses from wooden swords
Here are some steampunk-ish ideas (I can add prices if you like them):
- telescoping sword
- sword with a lightning rod in it so you can deal electrical damage
- gun that shoots spells or bullets that have spell-like effects
- wrist-mounted crossbow (special/exotic and costs more money)
- a gauntlet that shoots knives
- green-arrow style arrows with special effects
- a bow that has gears to make the shots more accurate
More coming (I'll update them on the campaign info document)

those sound pretty sweet, knife shooting gauntlet, and writs mounted crossbow those are all of the yes's

If you want some stuff:
Telescoping sword - 380 gp.
Wrist mounted crossbow - 500 gp.
Gauntlet - 425 gp.
Gun - 375 gp.
Bullets - 50 gp.
Lightning Sword - 515 gp.

what are the specs on the wrist crossbow and gauntlet?

What arrows are available? (I'm not familiar with the comics.)

Wrist mounted crossbow: Damage - 1d8 medium size, 60 ft., Piercing type, 5 lbs. It takes a full move action to take off and put on the crossbow
Gauntlet: Damage - 2d4, 45 ft., Piercing type, 3 lbs.

@Claudine:
- Boxing glove (normal glove for campaign)
- Flash (Flash powder for Pathfinder)
Basically tipped with any alchemical creation from Pathfinder. They cost the normal price +1 gp. and does what it would normally do if it weren't on an arrow

Scarab Sages

Okay, I've got Fillion updated as an occultist. Need to add in his spell choices, some combat gear, and write in the rest of his implement powers, but the majority is finished.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Just some terminology:
Center/Inwards
Rim/Rimwards
'wise (clockwise)
counter'wise/ (counterclockwise)

Scarab Sages

So this is the character that I'm planning to play, she is an oracle of lore (this is Creator Crow)

Okay, everyone. Fine tune your characters and head over to the discussion thread.
Recruitment closes today, and I hope to start gameplay tomorrow

Sounds good.
